Slots Headphones while playing slot machines?

Anyone know if the casinos on The Strip allow you to listen to music with headphones while playing a slot machine? Reason I ask is the first time I went to a casino, back in 1993 I think, was at Foxwoods in CT. I had headphones on listening to Sony CD Walkman. No sooner had I started playing a slot machine than security came over and asked me to take them off.

Not sure if things have changed, but something tells me that the casinos on the Strip wouldn't allow it. The guy at Foxwoods told me that they were worried about people using it to hack the machines or get instructions playing BJ etc..

 

Seems like everyone has earbuds in now listening to their mp3 players. Try it and see what happens.

 

I wear a hoodie, sunglasses and have headphones on while playing slots. I don't want the slot machine to get any reads on me.

 

I had a similar experience at my local casino many years ago and they told me that it was for safety and security reasons.

But nowadays they don't care. Very rare is when I don't have headphones on while in Las Vegas playing slots or video poker.

However you can't wear headphones while playing table games.

 

When I used to regularly do a Walkman, I know I had it playing with earbuds many times at various slots. Never got confronted.

 

Never had a problem last year at Aria.

Haven't done it much but there's usually no problem. I figured the only place they would have a problem would be the sports book with their cell phone rules.

 

I rather enjoy the music of the slots I am playing. I like the loud ones. I rarely play games that have no sound. Casinos also have music playing in the background too.

If I wore headphones listening to music while playing slots, I would have to turn volume up and hurt ears. I also like socializing.

 

You can't use headphones at any table games. They are afraid of someone feeding you ill-gotten information.

Sports books have gotten more liberal about cell phones, but I can't give you exact chapter and verse. I've just read a few places that you can use your phone in the book without being hassled, at least to some degree.

 

I'm fairly often plugged in when playing VP, helps me to concentrate better. On slots I'll somtimes plug myself in if there is one of those annoying players nearby that simply has to have their machine at full volume. Mainly play off-Strip for the past few years but same applies on our infrequent visits to the Strip and never had a problem.

With ya on liking the slot music and sounds but sometimes the Muszak is unbearable.

 

Live poker is a big exception to this. For awhile my home state (Missouri) banned it for awhile, and all the former online grinders (other than me) had a major stink over it. They repealed the ban within a year I think.

But for slots/VP half of the reason I play these games is for the sound... I would never dare play without the sound.

 

I have been playing while listening to my iPod the past couple of years without issue with slots. Even have a slots playlist as well as a video poker playlist.

They are quick to tell me to turn it off at the Craps table.

 

I usually wear headphones when playing slots and VP. The noise of the machines is just too intense for me. The casinos' choice of "background" music is also seldom to my liking. The people who choose the early morning music apparently never get a look at their white-haired clientele. I wish they would reserve the hip-hop stuff for the night-time crowds. I much prefer the music I have on my ipod.

 

The smarter casinos here save the hip hop for the evening and weekends and do old school stuff weekday mornings and afternoon. We do have one foolish one that saves its snooziest stuff for Friday nights if they play it at all. In this day and age, it shouldn't be that hard to program music.
