Quiet Rooms on Fremont

Well...this might be a misnomer but I know, that YOU know, where the quiet rooms are located on Fremont.

Let's go back in time a little...

The last time my wife and I stayed at the ElCo...it was a little loud with the mini concerts that were down on the street. I can't remember the room number...we were up a few stories and could still hear the thump,thump,crash from the cymbols and the lead guitartist playing.

So...we'd like to stay on Fremont or in the downtown area...but those dang changes seem to be forcing us to go some where else...Orleans/Gold Coast??

I know The D has high rise rooms and is on Fremont. Are there "higher up"...what floor...rooms quiet from the noise of the street, Fremont, and the mini concerts?? What floor...what side?

Golden Nugget....quiet rooms......what floor....what tower....what side...what room?

Any other casinos you'd recommend that are quiet on Fremont? Please state the floor...what side....and anything else that might be important.

***We don't mind room noise from next door, we don't mind hallway noise, we don't mind elevator noise*** That's expected...


If we have to move on...so be it. Our next move may be back to the Strip then drive down to Fremont to play. We just hate the hustle and bustle of the Strip.

Forgive me for asking about a subject that's been beat to death but I'm making plans and want to start to finalize the reservations and such.

Pretty much all the rooms at the plaza are quiet, (I've stayed there a dozen times or more) tho I've always asked for as high a room as possible. The California is quiet also. I just think wherever you go ask for as high a floor as possible. And DONT stay at the GG unless you go to bed really early in the morning, and even then the street noise starts again mid morning....

 

I was at Rush Tower at GN on New Year's Eve and didn't hear a thing from the party on Fremont St.
Rush Tower rooms x216 - x228 face away from Fremont. I've asked for and received the requested rooms twice now with no problem. 18th Floor in June and 20th Floor in January. Quiet both times.

 

Cohiba, actually at the El Cortez, some of the clubs have open courtyards inside so the higher up you go, the more you can hear the loud music (since the noise travels upwards). In addition, some clubs are up on the rooftop so you hear them at all hours of the day and night. I know what you mean, the loud thumping bothers me and it is very irritating to stay at the EC and have to put up with that noise.

You definitely don't want a room facing South or East since they face the music.

At the EC you should ask for a room facing north, that way you won't hear the loud music as much. You can also ask for the cabana suites rooms facing north as it will be away from the noise.

As others have mentioned, the plaza south tower facing south is nice because you get a nice view of the strip without the FSE noise. I stayed in the south tower facing north and you can hear the FSE shows every hour in addition to the concerts outside.

You can ask for rooms facing south at the 4queens as they won't face the FSE noise as much (south tower might be better facing south since it is away from the FSE). The GN also has a tower away from the FSE that might be less noisy, esp if you are facing south.

The D faces east and west so IMHO it might be hard to get away from the FSE noise (rooms facing west) and the club noise (rooms facing east). But at least you are a few blocks away from the clubs so it might not be as bad.

 

Golden Nugget, Carson Tower, room 753, this past November was very quiet.

 

Quiet Rooms

We've stayed in six downtown properties, several times at the Plaza, Four Queens, and GN. I'm noise sensitive, so routinely ask for a quiet location, "up and away" (from the elevators).

Plaza - south tower, south side, east end (the west end is closer to the railroad tracks). Just some street noise, and decent strip view. GN - Carson tower is farthest from Fremont. South facing you'll hear some street sounds and loudspeakers from the adjacent jails, but otherwise pretty quiet. Gold tower rooms facing west face the pool and are pretty quiet. Haven't stayed in the Rush tower. The D - east side, south end, up. We had a corner room on the 18th floor, quiet except for some street sounds every now and then. ElCo - yes, south facing tower rooms get club noise. Spent a week there last year and got "boom boom boom" from clubs late at night. Four Queens - south tower rooms facing south are the quietest, just some street noise. If you are in the south tower facing north you still hear the nearby FSE stage. North tower fronts the FSE. Most recently stayed at the Downtown Grand. Stayed in the main (east) tower, east side. It was pretty quiet. Only heard noise from the Gold Spike on Friday night, and not too loud (we left Saturday).
