Arriving tomorrow for two weeks of business, staying at Monte Carlo just because it's reasonable and clean and they make superb Manhattans in the Brand lounge!

Does anyone know the progress on room renovations? When I was there in December part of the 27th floor was undergoing a renovation. Curious if they've made progress.

I forget where I saw this, but apparently they aren't really remodeling they rooms, at least not right now. I read they are just testing stuff. They definitely haven't renovated the rooms.

Wow - 13 nights, one place.

Okay for some. I would split it up somewhere along the way.

I did 9 nights in Bally's north tower last May. The housekeeping staff thought I had moved in due to me having my own coffee maker and other necessities. I will say I didn't get tired of using the pool or the easy access to The Stage Door bar.

Should go by fast in you're working. Coincidentally, I'm on night 13 in a hotel, not in Vegas though. Not much time (or energy) to sightsee when working unfortunately. I'd love to try it in Vegas - I think I would tire of walking the strip but the food options would be great! I've got 11 more nights before I'm home again. Couple weeks later, will start another 2 weeks.

I used to split it between hotels, three nights here, four there, etc. Pack, unpack, pack, unpack. Couple times I had to think real hard where the hell I was staying!

I also used to use free nights too. Spent sixteen nights once in Las Vegas, didn't pay for a single night! Since I'm on expenses I thought the company would appreciate that? I had been doing it for years, never got a thanks. The LAST time I did I went and had a $125 sushi meal. Accounting flipped out! Reminded me of our travel policy of no more than $60 a meal. Refused to reimburse me at all as punishment. I kept highlighting the fact that I gave them sixteen free hotel nights, over two weekends that would have averaged probably $130 a night. They didn't care!

That is what prompted me to go to every players desk and ask that I receive no mailers from now on. I never go to Las Vegas for pleasure as I spend 10 weeks a year on business and I'm damned if I'm going to give the company, a Fortune 500 one, another free night. I could care less about the $500 to $1000 in free play I used to be offered. Screwing Accounting is worth more than that to me!

I wonder why MC only renovated a few rooms? I will try the $50 trick and see if I can score a suite. I went from 0 points to 110,000 in 11 days in December to get Gold so maybe that counts for something although I don't see any offers from them in my mLife page.

    Thanks for the input!

I get it. Accountants are so logical, they become unable to deal with logic outside the box.

But, back to your mission. You know they don't know you are screwing them, right? If they (personally) knew you were giving up freeplay, show tickets, upgrades, etc... they would be laughing their ass off, at your expense.

    Just sayin'.

By the way, another little trick expense account people can do. Charge what you can to the room. Get a printout. Save that. Then pay it down with comps. Pay the final balance in cash, but use the earlier printout for expenses.

^ This, though I don't think if a casino would issue a non comped room charge on one CC (a mandatory company card) and then credit a different card. Most programs have the flexibility to issue at least a partial comp for free play or other personal expenses in lieu of a room or meal comp.

I was able get the invoice w/o comps (submitted to work) and then have them reissue a comped bill for my green chop BJ play at the Tropicana. I didn't have a company credit card, so this worked out, but this doesn't work if Piggylane has a mandatory company CC.
