The hubby and I have come down with a serious case of Vegas-itis! Still over 2 months to go and it's killing us both slowly. We've gone for a couple of runs to the local casinos to see if that would help ease the symptoms but no luck. We've tried bringing our fevers down with repetative viewings of "Vegas Vacation", "Last Vegas" (hilarious) and hours of YouTube slot videos but our temperatures are rising.

IS THERE ANY HOPE FOR US???? *sigh* :bang:

No hope, only time. Seems like forever. And watching all that stuff just makes the anticipation worse for me. It is a disease for which there is only one cure.

HAHAHA! Seriously just LOL'd. I gotta tell ya - I thought that my husband and I were the only ones who went this bonkers with "vegas cravings"

I'm always looking for new Vegas movies to watch. Our go-to movies are Casino and Vegas Vacation.

I also recently watched Paradise (with Russell Brand) - it wasn't great, but it was good.
Also watched Lay the Favorite a few weeks ago. TERRIBLE acting. Like AWFUL. But, you'll see a couple big names in it (Vince Vaughn, Bruce Willis) and you get to see some Vegas. It's worth watching if you've got nothing better to do and you've got Vegasitis.

I always find that the best way to break up a lengthy 2 or 3 month wait for a Vegas trip is to book another Vegas trip exactly half way from now until your anticipated trip....Just call it a "Reconnaissance" so it seems justifiable on the pocketbook!!!

I just got back on the 12th and I'm Jones'n to head back already...Itching to update my signature block with the countdown! I know we will be there in July for our 10th anniversary, but the real question is do I go once or twice more before then :)

We went together last May and then he went with my father in Sept and I went with my Mom in Oct. That mid-year trip is just not enough! The airfare prices are really all that keep us from going more often. A few hours in an OK casino is just not the same.

I'll have to check out those other movies..I know every line to Last Vegas already and it's only been out for a few weeks.

    Lord help us!

Just do other things to keep your mind busy. Time flies by when you're not thinking about it.

    Hone Skills?

Not sure what you play, but I've been biding my time playing simulators for UTH & blackjack switch.

I want to be solid on UTH "near-perfect" strategy for my upcoming trip, so I've been practicing with the simulator open on one tab and the basic strategy card open on the other.

Just like with blackjack basic strategy, or even learning a hi-lo count, the more you practice, the more it becomes second nature when you finally arrive at a table.

For UTH, I track my session outcomes, by win/loss but also by betting strategy & exit-strategy... it scratches the itch and also (hopefully) makes me a better player when I do arrive.

    Something to consider, anyway!
(Worry-not...you'll survive this little bout...77 days will pass quicker than you think! My countdown timer used to be 77 days...now look at it! Good luck!!)

Yeah I have to say I'm the same once I have booked a trip, I watched Last Vegas the other week, also currently watching new episodes of Pawn Stars and Counting Cars which are currently being aired in the UK.

For UTH, I play the flash game at Shufflemaster's website, and the practice-game at wizard's site:
    http://wizardofodds.com/play/ultimate-texas-hold-em/
    http://www.playshfl.com/#uth
For UTH Basic Strategy, I use the card found at the 'discountgambling' site:
    http://discountgambling.net/2009/09/28/basic-strategy-card-for-ultimate-texas-holdem/

For BJ-Swith, I had to download a program and install it on my PC. Just do a google search and you should find it.

I used to crave trips like that until I started taking longer trips. It is feasible for me because of my schedule but I find that a longer time satisfies the craving to its capacity. I then leisurely wait for the next long trip. And unlike before I do not get tempted to take in-between trips.

I say stay away from the local casinos and instead put that cash away for Vegas. Then talk about what you will do with this extra cash. Maybe an elaborate dinner, High LImit slots or something.

This won't speed up the time but will make it more exciting to talk about your plans.

Gonna be a long week for me, so ready to go, been watching movies and reading alot about LV here in the last month! Reading books about LV seem to help me alot though, just finished Howard Hughes life story, Super Casino, and am now reading 24/7 living it up and doubling it down in Las Vegas! A bit older book(98 I think) but really a great read!

I wish we could stay away from the local. Parents just told us that they are taking the kiddos somewhere for a couple of days over spring break. Hubby and I can't go because we can't get the time off of work. What was the first thing my husband said? "Hell yeah, we're going to Winstar one night!" *sigh* I told him that was our Vegas money and I was not able to blow most of it in Oklahoma.

My husband & I definitely have Vegasitis too - 65 days for us (need to get all my posts in so I can have a countdown here). We always travel with 2 other couples so we all get together several times in the months before and practice our drinking skills:drunk: and make plans, gather coupons, go over offers etc.

I live north of Detroit, so we are going to Caesars Windsor next month for a comped concert & 2 night stay. It does use up some cash we could bring to Vegas, but at least we are racking up TR points to be used in LV. It doesn't stop the itch but it does make it a little more bearable.
