    My Trip Report

This was our 6th trip to the MGM, but our first with a host. After looking at the available rooms online at the MGM, Aria and Bellagio, and deciding that we would take the Eagles ticket offer at the MGM, AllNetMom emailed our host and asked her to book an Executive King for 2/13-2/17 and comped Eagles Tickets for 2. After several cryptic emails from the host, we were all set... or so we thought. Wednesday 2/12 we get an email from the host saying, "Sorry, the suite is sold out." Well, it wasn't sold out when we asked for the booking. The only rooms now available were double queens. I immediately booked a room online for Thursday and Friday night at Paris (Red Room), Saturday and Sunday at the MGM (Executive King), and promptly got myself a new host.

    Paris 2/13-2/14
We rolled into Paris at about 3:30pm on Thursday. First time to Paris and/or CET. Checked in and went up to the room for a bourbon. Not impressed with the room. Small and definitely worn. Stains in the shower and bathtub, Broken door on the armoir, loose carpet. If this is what Paris is about, I won't be back. We signed up for Total Rewards and started playing VP. Played some DDB progressive and Triple Play DDB. I managed to get some quads running but ANM was not doing so well. Now she knows how I felt at the Peppermill Reno in Jan. Ate dinner at the Cafe, which was not very good, and the service was incredibly slow. Played some more after dinner and didn't do so well. Did about 30K coin in (short day), so got the 5K TC bonus for the day. TR Platinum. Back to the room around midnight. TV sucked.

Friday started with a coffee, then picked up the Platinum cards and started losing. I had one good hit on $1 Triple Play, dealt 4 2's and drew one kicker for $1600. TR doesn't allow linking accounts (Mlife does) so we just played on ANM's cards. The attendant looked at me funny when she came for the hand pay and pulled the card. I pointed at ANM and said, "she's my wife," so they paid her. The rest of the day was lose, lose, lose. Ate lunch at Mon Ami Gabi. Food was Excellent. The Chicken and Mushroom Crepe is just sublime. Service was slow though. We spent some time over at Bally's and Planet Hollywood. I don't really remember Bally's, but liked the vibe at PH. If the rooms are nice I might stay there sometime. At PH we ran out of cash, which was our cue to call it a night. Got room service, which was slow, cold, and ANM's order was wrong. We did about $50K coin in on Friday, which got us another 10K TC bonus. TR Diamond. Hope we get some good offers. I want some payback, in spite of the comped RFB. We left down. Way down. Unfortunately for the MGM, math works.

    MGM 2-15-2/16... and 2/17
We left Paris early, went to the bank, and dropped our bags at the MGM bell desk. We let the front desk know we were there, and left my cell number for a call when the room was ready, then the fun started. It was like we couldn't lose, a whirlwind of big hits. On Saturday we won back everything we had lost at Paris, and then some. The fun continued into Sunday, and given that we were going to see the Eagles on Sunday night, we extended our stay into Monday night. Monday, the losing started coming back, and in the total sum we finished down a few grand for the 5 days, but we had a lot of fun doing it. Some highlights were ANM's Aces with a kicker on $2 DDB. My Royal on $2 DDB. ANM's Dealt Royal on 25c three line UltimateX DDB with 2x on 1 line. Twice, I turned trips into quads on all three lines of $1 Triple Play. Coin in was 45-50K/day. RFB comped.

Somewhere amidst the gambling we managed to eat at the Grand Wok, twice. There is nothing bad on that menu. Everything is excellent, including the service. We also went to Nine Fine Irishmen at NYNY. Excellent pub grub. The Fish and Chips, The Corned Beef Sandwich and the "Irish CheeseSteak" are all great. Wash it down with a Black and Tan. MGM Room Service is prompt and excellent quality. Wolfgang Puck's, all fresh, all handmade, all excellent.

The Eagles concert was a blast. I'm a little young to have seen the Eagles back in the day. By the time I was a teen, the were already split, but I love the music. Was great to see them while they can still perform, and perform they did. Seats were great, on the floor, ninth row, center right.

    It was a good trip.

    Same trip my perspective

AllNetDad hit the highlights, but I wanted to add a few key things from my perspective.

AnD was on fire all weekend. He rocked it and came out WAY UP. But he came with me-- and I really only got the two great hits. A royal on Ultimate x for 4,000, (MY FIRST!) and 4 aces with a kicker for 4,000. Fun, but he could not make up for the rest of my losses.

    Paris:

    Good:

    Liked the casino
    Mon Ami Gabi was great
    The staff was friendly
    Drink service was fast
We are now Diamond w/cet which may open new possibilities
A host left us a message saying he was comping everything
    (that never happened at MGM)

    Bad:

Left a ton of money there
The room was very worn and tiny
The food from room service was barely edible
    No linked accounts?
They take your RC's (all of them) before they comp

I was really happy to leave and get to the MGM!

I played craps at MGM and had a great time! "AnD" has given up on craps so this is the first time I played by myself. It felt great. I must play craps --I love it! The table staff was lightning fast, so it did not slow down the game when people were betting a ton of stuff.

We never got to play the LIONS progressive slot because the line was crazy! grrrr One lady was yelling at he woman on the machine trying to get her to stop playing. It was ugly.

The concert was fabulous! It was IN the hotel, so we just walked over. Love that we had great seats!

We won a LOT at MGM but it did not make up for all our losses at Paris by the end. MGM STILL comped us for everything but tips. Nice to know that when you do happen to win, they still comp based on play.

Overall, I would say our experiment with CET was OK, but not close to the mlife treatment and experience.

    Happy gambling everyone!

    Great report! Loved the pictures.

Before checking out use your points for slot play then when the host comps you won't loss your points.

Great trip report! Thanks for the info on the Red Room at Paris, was considering this but after your report, probably wont.

Also the Lion's share machine, was hoping to get there in April but sounds like it would be hard to even get to play it.

    Thanks for writing!:nworthy:

The renovated Paris Suites are nice. You may Qualify for those in the future. We recently stayed at Bally's in the Jubilee Suite and liked it a lot. You ahve the ease or getting back to paris quickly.

I also LOVE the Resort Vista Rooms at PHo. They are my fave especially with the strip view.

With your play you may want to talk to host about Caesars especially in summer.

Great report and I loved the vp porn!

I think it's nothing short of a miracle to get quads on all three lines after being dealt trips. :nworthy: In all my time of playing triple play, that has never happened to me. I've hit two quads before, but never all three.....good to know that miracles can happen.

Thanks again for the report. Still waiting for my dealt royal on triple play!

This was my first time with Triple Play. I'm afraid my experience may have been too good. Now I'm hooked on it.

Thanks for the report and the photos. Wow! It's hard to believe you lost after all those great hits, but you can really dig a deep hole when the quads aren't hitting. It sounds like you had a great time. I'm jealous that you got to see the Eagles. I love their music. There is a great two-part documentary on them on Showtime. Thanks again for sharing your trip with us.

Irrefutable proof that MGM Resorts, inc is better than CET,inc! :evillaugh

I am staying at Paris tomorrow night. I have heard "worn" describing it way too many times now. Oh well. One more notch to a been there done that list as that is one property on my shrinking list of haven't stayed there yets.
