Are shows a main reason you visit Vegas?

No, but we (or at least I do) certainly enjoy them. They just enhance our trips. We've seen some great shows, especially in the last couple years. Good way to get out of the casino for awhile. I tell the spouse they 'save' us money in that respect.

No. Frankly I have seen far fewer than I could/should have over the years. Standouts, which I was pleasantly surprised by and very happy to see: Tony Bennett, Shania Twain, "O". Good--Mystere. Would have been happy to miss--Zarkana, Jubilee, Blue Man Group, Sigfried and Roy.

Yes, shows are the number one reason we go to Vegas, because we can gamble here at home all we want (even over the computer), while Cirque du Soleil, La Reve, Jubilee, etc. can only be seen in Vegas. We go to Vegas for the overall experience and gambling is just an added bonus (although a big bonus to be sure.)

With all my visits, I kick myself for having not enjoyed more shows. Now that my wife is committed to going with me more, I intend to rectify that!

Shows and restaurants are my top 2 reasons for going to Vegas! I don't gamble at all.

Shows, golf, and good food are the main reasons I come to Vegas. Can gamble at home even though the local casinos are like the minor leagues compared to Vegas.

I don't go there to specifically see shows although I have enjoyed some great shows on my visits, me and my wife have seen Elton John, Tom Jones and David Copperfield, also I have seen Rod Stewart and last year went to see Shania Twain, I always have a look to see who's on while I'm there and if there's something I like and it's not too expensive then I will probably go and see it.

I much prefer old school lounge acts to shows. But, I like headliner type shows. I'm glad we were able to see Jubilee! because it's the last of it's kind.

For many years I went to virtually no shows. Many of my trips were strictly gambling trips with buddies. When I got married my wife had little interest in shows. But now my girlfriend loves them (yes I'm divorced  ). Heck, last April we went to 6 shows in 4 nights. Crazy but fun. In October we went to a few more (including the best one, Absinthe). I'm not sure what we'll be seeing in May but there are so many good options.

We always see shows. We don't go to Vegas often, but we can go just about any time we want. Usually, we plan around friends because certain shows we like run pretty much all the time. Sometimes we go for a specific show, such as one of the rodeo events or (once) Jimmy Buffett.

Shows are definitely a highlight. Our favorite way to spend an evening is to have a good meal and see a good show. Vegas makes it so easy to do that every night of the week without repeating.

My first few times to Vegas was strictly for the gambling and drinking. Since I've gotten older, I mean mature, shows are now a big part of our trips.

I've seen a handful of shows (absinthe, jubilee, penn and teller) I schedule my trips around concerts. I've seen at least 25 concerts in Vegas. The Pearl at the Palms is one of my favorite venues of all time.

Funny how you posted this thread right when i was wondering if it was even worth it to go to a show. We would use lps for one cause i don't want to pay hundreds of dollars and being vegas virgins i was wondering if it was worth it. We are there for 8 days and are going to the GC for a day already so i don't want to have too many concrete plans.

They used to be, but not now with the outrageous prices for a decent seat.

Wouldn't even call them a highlight, just a part of the Vegas trip.

I love shows. Specifically, my favorites are comedy and Broadway style musicals. I love seeing shows in Vegas. But since we have a gorgeous new performing arts center near my office, and especially since I bought season tickets for the Broadway series this year, I feel less of a need to see shows in Vegas.

In the past, it was easier (and often cheaper) for me to see a show in Vegas instead of NYC or elsewhere in my state....

A lot of times, spending money on show tickets still puts you money ahead compared to sitting in the casino lol

Shows are probably 3rd or 4th on my list. I would have to say Gambling, Partying, Restaurants, then Shows. I have enjoyed every show I have seen. I like Le Reve, Mystere, Zarkana, Zumanity, Fantasy, Vegas the Show, Crazy Horse II (no longer running) and Michael Jackson One. I enjoyed everyone of them. Its totally worth the money spent on tickets. Still need to see O, Ka, and Beatles "Love".
