    My Trip Report

Just noticed this will be my 5th Vegas TR since joining this site in 2012.

Hit my first royal in Tunica in September 2012. Next was Bally's June 2013, then PHo August 2013, then Bellagio October 2013. Can my streak of 3 straight trips hitting a royal continue?

Can I have back to back winning trips with heavy coin in?

    Wednesday 1/22

-Flew in nonstop from FLL, tried to sleep on flight but couldn't, pretty miserable 5 hours.

-Plan is 4 nights comped at Planet Hollywood, Fri/Sat double booked comped at The D, and Fri triple booked comped at MSS (only to collect freeplay).

-$40 trick at Diamond checkin got me room 2140 South @ PHo. I believe it was a Resort Vista room strip view, biggest room I've had there and I loooved it. 2 entries into bedroom from bathroom and foyer area, super long vanity counter/mirror upon entering bathroom, then big bathroom with another mirror. Strip view window right beside bathtub. Big TV above tub.

-After putting down some sports bets, I played a quick $20 at the PHo sports book bar tops and for the 2nd time ever had a slot host tap me on the shoulder, shake my hand and introduce himself. Happened last on a comped stay at Harrah's in KC. Creeps me out kind of that they know the instant my player's card is inserted in a machine and track me down.

-Depressing view of Bally's on walk to Caesers

    -Caesers diamond lounge is nice.

-Caersers sports book bar has 2 All Star poker machines now with Super Times Pay!! I need more of these. Started the trip winning my money line bet on the Suns who were 6 point dogs and winning at bartops.

-Got very wasted on "Vegas bombs" @ Caesers sportsbook.. Crown, peach schnapps, cranberry, Red Bull. Sounds made up to me but tasted good.

-Ended the night @ Flamingo on the best Don'ts table ever. I have a strategy of usually betting just 2 DC bets, pressing if I win both. My entire half of the table was on the Don'ts, and after the other half left, I started betting DP+ continuous DCs because we were on FIRE. We would shoot point, #, #, #, 7 out. That sequence happened a minimum of 4 times and I was laying max odds by that point. We were all saying out loud once the bases were loaded "This would be a terrible time to roll a 7" challenging the superstition that you say 7 out loud and it rolls. Like clockwork, it did! Over and over! First table of everyone high fiving and shouting I've been at when the 7 rolled. After one guy hit a point finally, I colored up and left, because I was exhausted and way too drunk. Great first night.

Enjoying it so far. Keep up the good work!

...don't the poor pay tables for quarter VP play at CET properties turn you off?

...you stiffed (or will stiff?) MSS downtown-- just collecting free play-- but they have excellent pay tables? Hmm.

Well, good luck to you. Thanks for posting and the pictures. Look forward to the rest!

What is the MAX coins for an STP game? I thought to get the STP bonus you needed to play 6 coins per line and I see you are playing 7 coins per line.

7 coins is for DOUBLE Super Times Pay. Even more fun and better odds than standard STP.

BTW, thread title should read 2014... I asked a mod to change it, we'll see.

Double STP + DDB quarters = crazy ride. Hope you have more big hits in store!

    Thursday 1/23

-Decided since this would be only completely on-strip day, I'd focus my play at CET and go for 2500 TCs to get the 5k bonus.

-Started the morning with room service to recover a bit from my epic hangover... then to my favorite STP machines at PHo where I hit a royal last August. I was in for $800 and wasn't running too hot except for this pretty one.

-Then it happens: the STREAK CONTINUES! I guess someone greedy could have hoped for 2+ of the 10 to fill in, but I'll take it baby! And no W2G to boot!

-At 2k TCs I took a break.. booked all my NHL/NBA sports bets (I love taking money line on moderate favorites and parlaying 2-3 of them to get decent payouts) then hit up the Westin's new rebranded "Max" casino for a $1 chip for my collection. Got Pin Up Pizza @ PHo before a short nap (great pizza btw).

-Bar hopped back to Caesers. Funny trend on the way.. this was at my 20 minute stop at Gustav's @ Paris

Parlayed the win to $2 and went bust. Then Sully's @ Bally's, $100 @ $1 DDB went bust in no time flat.

Then @ Caesers sports book bar shortly after arriving:

Can a brother get a kicker? None of my sports bets come through and I'm now running bad. Need to turn this around..

-Decided to use my $100 diamond voucher on Bacchanal Buffet plus a few cocktails since it was expiring soon and I'm not a big fan of fine restaurant dining solo. Great as always.

-Found a single 7/5 BP DSTP @ $1,$2,$5 in Caesers high limit slots. Decided to take a shot and fed in $500 to finish my 2500 TCs of the day. Started off great

Nice hit with 10x multiplier... my $500 is running up nicely:

Premium quad with multiplier! I'm up a grand in no time:

    THEN IT HAPPENS

-2 royals in one day! First ever for me..just insane. I manage to donk off the $1000 back I was up before the Royal bumping up to $2 to see if I can let it ride, but cash out with my original $500 and an extra 40 benjamins in my pocket.

-Quick stop at Cosmo on the walk back to try to see my favorite bartenders at Book & Stage but all the seats are taken, so I find their vpfree2 advertised DSTP 7/5 BP and win a quick $200 before calling it a night.

    Multiplier quad:

What a great trip so far!

This trip definitely reupped my belief of how much I love the strip vs downtown. While downtown is great (especially The D and Golden Gate ), the vibe on the strip (especially staying at PHo short walk to Aria/Cosmo) is much more enjoyable to me.

I did play a little at MSS/Fremont as you'll hear later, but those casinos have much more of a boring vibe for me.

Holy smokes...I am going to play VP this trip. .25 to 1.00 level to help conserve the 'roll and guzzle free drinks.

    Great job!

If I keep seeing people hitting Royals on AT suited, I might have to start holding it... Nice pull! I'm also guessing that might be the best dollar game that CP now has. Unless they would somehow have 9/5 JoB w/STP (or DSTP).

I think the bartop DSTP @ Caesers sportsbook was 8/5 JOB making it 97.2%. DSTP 7/5 BP is 98.49% and best I've found I think. At least for dollars.

Good to see that Pho has 9/5 DDB!

Did you mean 8/5 DDB (saw that in your pic, nice quad aces btw)? 8/5 JoB with DSTP is closer to 97.8% when betting 7 per hand, which also would be outstanding for any CET bar. You didn't happen to see any of those CET bartops offer DSTP for nickels? I doubt it... but Harrah's Tunica does...

Maybe it was 7/5 DSTP JOB... I played that for a bit not hitting anything before moving to DDB when my inebriation got the better of my lower variance judgement. :)

And I can't speak to nickels. Quarters is slumming it for me, not enough action... for the few trips I do, I'm usually a 50c or $1 player.

We have been staying in the Vista room and really enjoy it too.
That long sink area is basically all mine as I wife monopolizes the rest of the bathroom.

    Awesome scores with the VP.:beer::beer:

-Started day not so great, dropping $500 at STP DDB 5 play 25c in no time flat

-PHo buffet is still a great value for breakfast with the easily found $5 off coupon online.

-Placed 6 sports bets, mainly NHL/NBA money line parlays of favorites. Played some dice at the Ho before heading downtown. Great dayshift crew there.. one dealer in particular was hilarious.

-Good karma deed of the trip (previously this happened with someone's debit card in a hallway). Found a cell phone on the floor of my cab downtown to the D ringing. I knew the cabbie wouldn't do crap to help the person, so I answered and told him it would be at the checkin desk at the D under his name. Minimal hassle to me, and the dude was so happy.

-Love The D casino. Long bar is just as great to watch sports as my other favorite sports bar at the Aria.

-Sweated my sports bets and played the nice Boner Deluxe game with progressive royal. The more I play BDX, the more I like it... nice game between the variance of BP which can be a bit boring, and DDB which can be a money suck.

-Barely managed any quads and finished about even when I went to MSS to checkin, get my $75 in FP and food comps. Played through the $75 on quarter JOB @ Boar's Head bar talking to a really cool local about breweries in Nevada. Cashed it out @ $60 with a $2 scratch card.

-Had to run to Golden Nugget which has the only decent sports book downtown to catch the end of my last parlay. Flames win in OT shootout to clinch my win! 4/6 bets won for a decent profit on the day.

-Ran up a $200 buyin back at the Long Bar nicely..

Then tanked it all off at $2 level taking a shot at those tasty looking $800 BDX quads. No such luck.

-Hit up Golden Gate to see if some coin in for the first time ever could get me some offers. The dancing dealers there were of very nice quality.. even the bartenders there are super hot. Ran well from the start and took them for $500 to make up for my loss at The D.

-Checked out the Downtown Grand for literally a minute. Place was dead and pretty boring inside. Grabbed a souvenir $1 chip. Not sure how they're planning to stay afloat.

-Before retiring I took a quick shot at the nice STP 8/5 BP at the D. Had a few hits to finish up a few hundred.

-Room @ The D was on the top floor (34). Overall, very unimpressed. Gaps under the room doors let you hear everything in the hallways. Garbage trucks beeped outside in the early morning hours super loud. My nonsmoking room definitely had that stale stank of old smoke. Overall, my PHo room was leagues better. Maybe I just got unlucky, or maybe it's standard for downtown. MSS never impressed me either room-wise... I guess I should try the Nugget but I don't see myself getting comps there.

Overall, another winning day (just slightly) with one more to go.
