Simply stunning pictures! Such clarity and well-taken! I much prefer TR's with snaps and you've taken it to another level, bravo!

On the back of this TR I've researched some new camera's and will definitely be purchasing one before my trip next Aug! Looking at the Panasonic Lumix TZ40!

Have a good Xmas all!

I didn't need anything for Christmas until I read this trip report. Now I need the exact camera set up you have... Give me the specifics...please must have it so I can drop the not so subtle hints really fast.. Wow on the pics! makes me want to return with my new camera.

On some of the shots into the sun (like the mirror guy) I increased the contrast to reduce the sun's washout, but otherwise what you see is what you get. Key to the deep colors are keeping the ISO to 80 or 100(as low as possible). And nightime shots to 400 no more than 800. Once you get into the higher ISOs you lose quality and saturation, and point and shoots usually push the ISO up in low light. It's nice to have the same controls on this camera as my Canon EOS rebel, with full control of all settings. The Canon G15 has a very fast lens both wide angle (1.8) and full telephoto(2.8), a large sensor, 3+ stop image stabilization, and the Canon HS system so shooting in low light is a breeze. I think I used the flash twice the whole trip. And outside, luckily, the vegas bright sunlight allows me to shoot just about everything in 80 ISO.

I'm impressed with the one inside the Forum Shops atrium and Venetian ceiling. I always have a hard time with the lighting in those.

Thanks for the pictures! Sure wets the ole whistle for our upcoming trip! Thanks again and I agree with everyone else, great shots! I can imagine the quality if you took your Rebel with the better lens kit.

I always thought the iPhone was good enough for point and click, but these pictures show up just how weak it is. Great pics. Thanks for sharing.

    Again Thank you very much.

Since this thread was resuscitated. I might as well add a few more.

I like the contrast between Santa and the palm tree

Late day, long shadows make for great colors.

Awesome images and with minimal post processing makes them more impressive.
For me I could see having to fix the white balance on numerous image if I took the pictures because some of those lights are tough.

    Question ..................

On page one - The picture of what looks like a melting silver building ......... where and what is this ?

I am a bit of a photo bug and would love to take some pictures of it on our next visit.

    Thanks in advance

Some of those pics are so good I'd love to use them as part of my computer wallpaper (but the resolution isn't high enough!).

    Still great though!
    Thanks for sharing.

It's an art school I think and it is within spitting distance of the north outlet mall. It's pretty damn impressive to see with your own eyes.

Ruvo center for Brain health. 1 block south on main street from the Plaza, turn right for 1 block under the bridge on Bonneville.
