Tell what I shouldn't miss at Aria!

I consider myself a "seasoned Vegas Vistor" Been there well over 25 times in my 40 years.
I typically stay at Ceasars for work functions or MBay/The Hotel or Bellagio for personal travel as MBAY has been offering us free rooms for about 3 years now.
I have always wanted to stay at Aria, but never could justify it as they wanted me to pay $100 per night as a Platinum member. But finally they have come to the table and offered us a reasonable comp. So we'll be there over the Veterans Day Holiday weekend in Nov.

What do I need to not miss? Restaurant, coctail lounge, lucky craps table, way to get cockails fast at the machines.
Is there a particular tower I should request or anythning like that? I think we have a standard king comped room.
Please give me all your tips, I know nothing about Aria. I've eaten at Sage and had happy hr at American fish and NEVER once found an open craps table there, so i've had little experience except for the "oodles of Poodles" slot machine near the bathroom!

If you like spas, Aria has the best on the Strip IMO. Also, Julian Serrano is an excellent restaurant (although they have scaled back their lunch menu, so consider it for dinner one evening).

I have never had a problem finding a spot at a craps table. On busy weekends, they have a huge number of craps tables operating. make sure you walk from the bar near the cage (where the craps tables start) although to the other end of the casino. You cannot see them all (like Bellagio or Mandalay Bay) just by standing at the first one. Usually there is plenty of craps action.

If you want a Strip view, they call that the City view. Not sure there are separate towers. Just different floors, different rooms and suites, and different views. Have fun

 

I always hit up the Todd English Pub during one of their 2 daily happy hours no matter what property I stay at. Just a nice atmosphere and $2 oysters all day makes it worth while.

 

In no particular order:

1. Pool area is pretty nice, with plenty of shady spots and quick drink service
2. Poker room is probably the best in the city these days
3. Dulce de leche brioche @ Jean Philippe Patisserie
4. Julian Serrano is excellent
5. Happy hour @ american fish is supposed to be good
6. I've read mixed reviews for the new pizza place
7. Sports book is pretty nice if you're into that

 

There are no separate towers at Aria (it is one massive building) but there is a separate entrance and elevators for the Sky Suites.

If you end up with a Strip View, I would ask for a room as far south as possible, away from Cosmopolitan. Since you are going on a weekend, the noise from Marquee will be in full force, and the farther you are from it, the less intrusive it will be. If you have a mountain view then you shouldn't have any worries.

Blossom is a great restaurant there, as is Sirio. I also really like Wolfgang Puck Pizza and Cucina in City Center. The food there is excellent and if you are craving pizza I would go there - the new Five 50 pizza place at Aria is average at best and incredibly expensive for the miniscule slices you get. I tried it when I opened and I found it underwhelming to say the least.

 

Don't miss taking one last look at the world's most expensive billboard...also known as the Harmon. It won't be there much longer.

Packing your jacket.

I like the Aria, but have usually found much of the property to be FREEZING.

 

the drinks on the floor. I find that they have the biggest glasses (or maybe it just seems that way) and pretty decent cocktail service.

 

Fabulous hotel with wonderful beds.

1) Love my cheese danish and coffee from JP in the morning
2) Julian Serranos for either dinner or lunch (yummy)
3) 2 for 1 bottles of wine on Thursday nights at Todds English Pub (I think it's Thursday, but it might be Wednesday)
4) Best slot floor in Vegas IMO.... with Bellagio and Pallazzo/Venetian a close second. If you play video poker, they have many of the "carnival games" of super times pay, double super times pay, multi-strike, etc. I am a moth to a flame for STP and DSTP

Personally, I never think the casino is cold and the drinks you get at Aria's are smaller in size (at least wine and Bailey's) than at Wynn.

5) If you are a red wine drinker, ask for the Martini cabernet rather than the house cabernet as the house cab is awful.

6) I've had some decent luck at the Pink Diamond dollar reel slots by the players club.

Thanks everyone! Strip view is not terribly important to us. Less noise would be a higher priority.
We liv to eat, so we will certainly check out those recommendations. I didn't raise there was another bank of craps tables, I'll look for them.
Any good places for music and dancing that's is low key like eyecandy at Mandalay Bay?

 

At Aria, no place really low key. Gold Lounge might be your best bet, but I still wouldn't compare it to Eyecandy. Instead, you may want to walk next door to Monte Carlo and try the Ignite lounge near the front of the casino. Doesn't have a dance floor like Eyecandy, but there are sometimes a few people dancing there and it is definitely more low key than anyplace at Aria

 

In the past I've seen a club/lounge at the back of Bally's that was somewhat similar to Eyecandy. Live music with dancing - lots of people doing the white man overbite. The few times I've past they were playing soul/top 40 music.

 

Yeah, I forget the name of that lounge, but it is right next to the Paris walkway. Definitely in the same vein as Eyecandy, although the crowd skews slightly older

 

indigo lounge-top class live music.

 

For a mere 30-40 bucks you can get all day access to the spa. The following areas are coed: outdoor plunge pool. Hot stone beds. Salt relaxation room. Relaxation lounge. In addition, the wet areas (Sauna, steam room, 4 soaking tubs) plus light healthy snacks and beverages. Seriously. You can lose that much money in moments on the floor.

 

Hey, hey!! Didn't know about that! Not a bad deal at all for a little chill time. I'm looking at the outdoor therapy pool and the fireside lounge. Thanks for the info.

 

The Aria spa amenities are fantastic!

 

I play a lot of craps and have always been able to find a spot at a table.
On weekends there will usually be 10+ tables open from mid afternoon on.
If you are into inexpensive breakfast/lunch, quick walk inside to Monte Carlo food court.
I actually like the new pizza place near the sports book.

Dining: Jullian Serrano,Jean George Steakhouse and Sirio are my favorites.

The lift bar usually has some low key live music on weekends.
Gold Lounge on second floor but it is different than Eyecandy.

It may be worth asking about an upgrade to a Corner Suite. Others on the board have had luck for $25/night. It is worth it if you can.
Enjoy the most comfortable beds in Las Vegas.

For a casino café, I think Aria's is pretty cool and I would recommend the carrot cake pancakes if you like that sort of thing. Someone else mentioned Jean Philippe Patisserie and I had a key lime tart that was fantastic. My only complaint with Patisserie, it was insanely busy the couple of times we stopped by. We had dinner at Wolfgang Pucks Cucina at Crystals. It was a nice dinner but, for the money, the atmosphere is meh. FYI, a free pastry can be had for very few MyVegas coins.

 

Ohhh one more question. What's the quickest coffee other than room service when I crawl out of bed? It's been a long time since i was a first timer at a hotel in Vegas!
