I'm not talking about chips on the casino floor, but truly found manna from heaven.

Two quick stories to get things started:

    1) My friend Bill has cerebral palsy; his gait is quite bad. It was a very windy day when he came to Vegas. As he was exiting the airport shuttle at the Trop (before it was remodeled), there was all sorts of debris flying in the air. He saw something that looked like money coming towards him and he managed to put a foot on it … no mere feat for Bill. It was a $100 bill.

Being quite frugal (okay, cheap) Bill decided to play it at a higher denomination than was his norm … and won. He never had to touch his gambling bankroll for his entire trip. He didn't make a killing or pay for the trip, but came out a few hundred ahead gambling.

    2) Early one morning I was on a camping trip with my dog and decided to walk the pup after a few hour's drive near the parking lot of Chinook Winds Casino at the coast in Oregon. I found a $20 bill in the weeds. I started looking around through the garbage in the tall grass and found another one. Let me tell you, that pup got quite a walk, but that was all the money that I found.

I took that $40 into the casino, and with visions of my Buddy Bill, hit the tables. It lasted, oh, perhaps one minute.

You must have put it on Texas Hold Em' to lose 40 that quickly. I can usually take 50 and turn it into 500 in a hour, I don't card count. Heck my math sucks. I just know when to hit or stand.

I opened the mailbox today (from Saturdays' mail) and there was a envelope from our dentist... apparently I overpaid something a few months ago and got a check for just under $500!!! Not really "found" money, cause it was mine to begin with, but I sure didn't know it was comin'!!!! Will put it to good use in a couple days.

    My found money story

Some interesting stories. I was picking up lunch one day from work and as I was walking out to my car, I see what looks like a bunch of ripped up pieces of paper everywhere. I did a double-take and hell it was a bunch of ripped up cash everywhere. So I proceed to look like some crazy out in the parking lot picking up stuff off the ground everywhere. But I stuffed it all in my pocket and when I got back to work I was able to get together two 5's, and about seven 1's lol. They're taped up in my coin jar until I cash it in b4 Vegas in a month.

I also got a letter from "Nielsen's TV Journal" (I think) about a month or two ago and inside was a brand new, crisp, 5 dollar bill. Didn't do the survey but that was the first time I've recieved random cash money in the mail. :evillaugh

I have been entering their contest for years! Who knew that would finally pay out.

    What a surprise!

My first job in high school was working at a bowling alley. My boss sends me over to the grocery store and as I am walking in I found $40 crumpled up on the floor. That was a lot of money to my $5.95 per hour making butt!

Another time when I was 11-12 years old. We're driving down the road and all of a sudden a $20 bill plasters itself to the windshield. My step-dad is like "WTF" and we look ahead a bit and every car is pulling over and money is flying in the air.

You want to talk about a scene? It was like that air blown cash machine...except along a highway.

Apparently some dude on a motorcycle lost the bank envelope out of his pocket while blasting down the highway.

    Cool replies!

smartone I, too, recently heard from my dentist. My insurance decided NOT to pay for a crown as work had been done on that tooth 22 months ago, not two years ago.

RockyBalboa One day in 7th grade while walking to school I saw something that looked like money wedged between rocks way up in a rockery … so I started to climb. It was $10!! I pocketed it, but was late to school. My homeroom teacher was a real hard ass and told me to see him after class.

I remember fretting the whole class. He asked for a reason why I was tardy, so I told him. He congratulated me and said he thought there would be a good reason. That comment made me feel good … and it still does.

Last fall I was audited by the feds for my travel claims just before going to Vegas. Sent the stuff in and went on my trip and lost a couple grand on craps. When I returned I had the tax reassessment and a check for 600 bucks!!!:eek:

one time I found a $20 in my jacket that I hadn't worn for several months. more recently I found $400 or so in my pocket that was tip money from my last trip to Vegas that I had forgotten about. in both cases the money was already mine, but feels new when you find it and forgot you had it.

Quite some time ago I went to put some money into a slot machine and it wouldn't go in. I removed it and saw that there was a bill stuck in the ticket in area. I managed to pull it out and low and behold it was $100. I go to put it in my wallet and realize that I'm missing $100 and the only thing I can assume is that when I went to put my money on the machine that I accidentally grabbed two bills and tried to feed it in there and that was my money the whole time. I was pretty excited for the 15 seconds or so before I realized what had happened.

Yikes! I sure hope that $40 wasn't used as toilet paper!

I won't pick money up off the ground. I've seen too many "shit dollar" prank videos to trust money on the street.

I've got a great found loot story that will probably win this thread. When I was young, my mom found a tennis bracelet at the airport with what looked like diamonds all around it. She left it with the airport police along with her info. Some months later they called and said that no one had claimed it so it was hers to keep.

After receiving it in the mail, she took it to a jeweler to get appraised. The appraisal came back at over $30,000 and thus that's how my college tuition was paid for. :D

Here's one more.... back in the day before dictionary.com, I was taking a summer class, writing a paper and had to use the book dictionary we keep on the shelf.
As I was flipping through it, I found a nice crisp $100 bill. Husband had stashed it there for a "rainy day" and then forgot about it. Too funny... the kids still tease him about that.

    I have two

In the late 60's found $20 in a 7-11 parking lot. Being alot of money for back then decided to take it to the local brothel. Not too proud of that now,but seemed great at the time.

Then at a local casino accidentally hit max bet on 25 cent video slot machine (thought it was a penny) hit a bonus round and hit for $4500.00

Back so many years ago, my brother, friend and I were playing out at the playground near our houses. We found a $2 bill. Now, just for context, this is Canada and was right around the time where the $1 bill was phased out in favor of a $1 coin. We went to the Macs to get quarters and go play some arcade games. The person behind the til gave us 8 dollar coins instead of quarters and we proceeded to quietly leave to go find a different place with arcade games. :D Jackpot #1 and #2 in the span of 20 minutes. I was probably 9 or 10 years old.

Our local market, Sid's, still give them out in change. I save all of them and take them to a bank to add a bit to my Vegas bankroll.
