I just don't get it. The Mirage is the one MGM property that I've never stayed at before and yet, everytime I speak to a host there (3rd time now), they simply will not give me an RFB based on my past play at MGM properties. I'm a Platinum member where everytime I've contacted a host at properties like Bellagio, Aria, MGM, Mandalay, Luxor, NYNY, I have no problems getting full RFB with suites comped. I've tried 3 different hosts at the Mirage with the same response. "Sorry, I cannot comp you you up front but I can give you the casino rate and review your play at the end of your trip to see what comps I can give you". LOL. I have no doubt that my play will get me comped but I can't help to feel like I am not welcome here compared to the other MGM properties.

I even tried to use a Spring 2013 MLIFE promotional offer where the expiry date is literally a day before the date I arrive and I got told by the Mirage host that I cannot use that offer and he cannot extend it for me. WTF? It's one day! As soon as that happened, I called my Bellagio host and locked in my usual RFB there instead with no teeth pulling.

I want to try out the Mirage as it always seems to be a busy casino with something going on. But it just seems like they don't want me there. I just don't get it. Sigh. Anyone else with similar scenario?

I have found them to be very stingy as well. My therory is that they are the best mid level property for MGM and therefore stay busy enough without giving away much. I think they also shot themselves in the foot with the MyVegas thing. The suites they gave away were very popular. They have taken them off and on the site a few times.

I am booked there next week and the day I arrive (a Tues) they are sold out along with the prior Saturday. I don't get it. All their other properties have availability. My reason for staying there is I got the best deal for this time period. My offers are improving at Bellagio and Aria so will probaby try that next time. I enjoy the place, but not that much. I don't think you are missing anything.

Not sure why you'd want to stay at Mirage when given the choice of Aria or Bellagio. Do you have a history of play at Mirage? If not, I can see why they act differently than the other MGM props where you probably have significant play. On your next trip, play for a day over there and see if their tune changes next time.

Mirage is pretty much staffed these days by leftover people. They have gotten worse over time as they first lost a lot of people who left when Wynn was opened so that they could keep having their same boss and then most of the remainder of the better ones left to go to Aria. The ones who went to Wynn liked Steve and the ones who went with Aria didn't, but they wanted to stay working for a MGM property and get away from what was left of the Mirage after it was sold to MGM.

They don't like me either. I had 7 Mirage stays (of 14 total trips) 2011-present. I am Noir. My host JL used to email me back immediately, or have a enthusiasm (tho faked or not) when I called for a trip. I also had the 1 (or 2 sometimes) bedroom penthouse suite locked up all seven times. My favorite Vegas property.

The past two times I've been to Vegas have been a different story altogether. Host will not respond to emails and when I call her it is like I have the Ebola virus. Gone are the offers and niceness; indifference at best.

I've stayed at Wynn these past trips and while I don't like the casino there as well (always blasting my bankroll), the service, rooms and VIP treatment are above my expectations.

I'm willing to let Mirage go - I asked my host what was up; why things had changed so drastically... She pause, sighed and said, "I have no idea".

I posted a thread almost identical to this because I have the exact same problemhttps://www.vegasmessageboard.com/forums/showthread.php?t=85460

I spoke to the head of marketing at Mirage and he couldn't give me any better explanation besides for you are better off taking the Bellagio offer. Which makes me wonder if they are pushing certain customers to certain properties.

Well I certainly like the Mirage, and I have gotten room comps there even though I am not a huge gambler, but it might be worth a little personal satisfaction for you to go there, throw down as normal, and watch their staff come running from all directions offering you comps.

you might have a better chance if you ask for a host referral at Mirage from another MGM property host that you have a good relationship with.

Thanks for all the comments and advice. It really boggles my mind that more upscale properties have no issues giving me RFB's based on my play from OTHER MGM properties and the Mirage won't follow suit. To put it in perspective, Aria always gives me the Panoramic Penthouse Suite for all my past stays there and Mirage won't even give me a promo offer for a regular suite that expires the day before I arrive. So pathetic. For what it's worth, I'm most likely going to stay at the Bellagio for my next trip. My host there was more than happy to set me up with a RFB suite.

Makes me wonder if MGM is getting ready to sell the Mirage and doesn't want their higher action players setting up shop there.

That's a really good point and certianly didn't occur to me. I would think they would sell off one of their lesser properties before the Mirage though.

That's a possibility. But I also think they're trying to steer certain levels of action to certain properties. The reason I believe this might be true stems from a conversation with a marketing person at Excalibur (high up in the chain, at that.) My question was if Excal would/should have to make a higher free play offer to get a low black chip player (like me) in the door.

The response was enlightening. They're not going to compete for a player like that. They know their market and they try to stick to it.

With that said, if they DO sell the Mirage, I'm glad I'm putting in play there this month. When they sold TI, I got credit for my recent play there from both properties when it came to be offer time.

As I posted in Naturaleight's previous thread, it definitely seems to me that the hosts at the various MGM properties have been told to stop going after players with a history at another mLife property. I noticed the change just before the mLife revamp last October and my Vegas offers have thinned down to just the two properties where I've stayed and gambled most in the past. The exception is Beau Rivage, which I've only visited twice in 10 years but have seen a lot of promo offers from in recent months.

Why do they want you to stick to one property? It was my understanding that all the MGM properties were competing to recruit players to go to their property. Which I thought was always good for us players because it fosters a competitive environment among the MGM props, totally opposite of CET.

For example NYNY and Mandalay always throws a high freeplay my way to sway me away from Bellagio or the newer resorts. And this has been good for me as a consumer because I can go to hosts at other MGM props and complain that if they don't match X offer I'm not coming. It has given me some leverage and has worked in the past.

This is the basis of my complaint about the Mirage. Every other MGM property was easily matching or even beating their other properties with offers to get me to stay and play there. But the Mirage is the only place that won't even bother trying and refuses my requests. I've tried 3 different hosts thinking that maybe I had a stingy first pick but after being 0-3, I think the Mirage just won't budge for me.

again, why are you so stuck on Mirage? there's nothing good about it compared to some of the other Mlife resorts.

As you saw in my other thread, I have the same problem. For whatever reason some moron in marketing who thinks he knows best doesn't want us coming to the Mirage.

Coincidentally, a random host at the Mirage emailed me the other day to let me know about an upcoming Baccarat tournament. When I asked what kind of accommodations he could get me he said Mirage Suite, and RFB. If you want his name and email PM me.
