    My Trip Report

As I'm sitting here at the airport leaving Vegas and waiting for my flight I figure I might as well start my Trip Report.

Let me start by introducing the cast of characters on this trip. There's 3 ladies on this trip. Kay, Cee and myself. Some of this trip got a little crazy, and some of it was completely random. Most of it was sightseeing, eating and wearing ourselves out in good ol' Vegas fashion. I plan on reviewing a lot of the things we did and I have a tendency to go into detail so the trip report may get long and will hopefully only take me a few days to completely post so bear with me. I hope you guys enjoy reading it. I also plan to post some pictures if I can figure that out once I get home.

    Pre-Vegas
Took good old JetBlue from JFK in NYC. Nothing really eventful on the flight pretty smooth sailing. The flight attendant gave me 3 mini bottles of water and a bag of chips to add to my hotel food and beverage collection with was nice. The airport in Vegas was kinda dead. We arrived at midnight on Friday. Short wait for the luggage and no line at the taxi stand. We exited terminal 3 and I told the cabbie take Paradise, no tunnel please to Excalibur. Ride was $15.70 gave him $20.

    Checking In
So let me begin telling you that one of my friends Kay is a pretty personable person, quite hilarious and is the type of person who can make friends anywhere and probably do stand up comedy. So I take her to check-in. We get this nice older gentleman Jeffrey. We start talking to him about random Vegas stuff and how we are teachers on Spring Break. Then he had a little trouble locating my reservation (my last name has a space) So as I'm giving him my confirmation number we are still chatting and he tells us that he works the night shift tonight until 7am. I told him well that must be interesting. He proceeds to tell us the drunks and "bumblebees" are entertaining. Bumblebees meaning hookers. So my friend blatantly asks "So if I wanted to find me some hookers where would they be?" He tells her they are everywhere here and where exactly to find them. Then we start talking about the room and he's like let's see what you got here. I'm like I hope there's a category for "awesome room" and he laughs. My friend Kay starts telling him she'll bring him a latte if he hooks up us poor and low paid teachers. After we chuckle a bit he tells us he upgraded our room to have a view facing New York New York. I'm like sweet! He gives us our room number and it ends in 11. I proceed to tell him damn this must be a sign! Our airport gate coming in to Vegas was 11. Our room is number 11. And I was born on the 11th and this is a birthday trip (albeit a week or so early). I'm like that's it I must play roulette and put it on 11! We are all chuckling again and honestly that was the best way to start out our Vegas Vacation. So up to the room we go and bam! Gorgeous view! We are in Tower 2 in the contemporary rooms with a nice view. Given that now it's 1am Vegas time and 4am NYC time we don't do much but unpack and head for bed. But tomorrow is a new day and full of shenanigans that still til this moment have me laughing. :evillaugh

Can't wait to hear if that lucky 11 worked out on roulette. I often take jetblue from the city to vegas as well. The times are always the best. I can take united and upgrade to first for free but the times are never as good and domestic first is bullshit anyway. We have enough posters here from NYC and NJ where we should organize an AC trip and turn that mother out!

    Friday 3/29

After a few restful hours, we wake up around 8:30am and eat a small breakfast. I decide I'm going to use the gym and I'm dragging my friends with me. But first we had to meet up with some of Kay's friends who were staying at MGM and leaving that morning. Not really noting anything special, but the MGM room wasn't that impressive in my opinion. It was on the 4th floor with a view of the roof, two queen beds and was ehhh. Afterwards we went to the gym for about 30 mins relaxed and caught some sun at the pool and grabbed a few drinks.

Once we got hungry, and were slightly tipsy we made the walk to In-N-Out Burger. Got myself a Double Double, Fries and a Vanilla Shake. :licklips: I've had many a burgers in my time and I must say hands downs they have the best fast food burgers. I always make it a point to stop in one when I'm in the west coast. I also like that its walkable from Excalibur since we don't rent a car while in Vegas. They really should have one on the strip.

After lunch we freshen up and catch a cab downtown to the Neon Museum. I must say I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. The signs were super cool and the tour guide was very knowledgable. I would say about 75% of what he said I knew because I read up a lot about Vegas's history in anticipation of this trip. My friends who didn't know Vegas history thought it was awesome. I would definitely recommend everyone do this tour at least once. After wards we head down to Fremont Street.

It was still daylight when we arrived at Fremont and my friends are not typically fond of gambling :grrr: so we grab some beers and listen to some of the "bands" playing. It wasn't really a band, it was more like a bunch of scantily clad strippers dancing on stage while one guy is on drums banging away. Quite awful I must say, but Kay decides to take it upon herself to start dancing with one of those random old guys who starts busting a move that people point and laugh at. It was quite entertaining but hell if this is how the night is going to be I need more alcohol.

I notice that the zipline is shorter due to construction which was kinda lame but I wasn't going to ride it since I did last year. However my friend Cee wanted to but she opted to do it a little later after a few more drinks. So we walk down Fremont and explore the sights. I finally get the girls to go into a one of the casinos Le Bayou under the pretense of frozen slushy drinks. So we order these big frozen drinks and I get to plop down and start feeding my money into the slots. After a bit I actually won some money about $30 and I press the button to collect my winnings, little did I know this machine paid out in nickels. As cool as it was to receive actual coins, it was annoying to have a bunch of nickels spew out and they were really damn heavy. I can't tell you how long we were in there for but I was able to finish my 24oz drink and opted to get another one. I'm not huge on frozen drinks as they tend to be too sugary for me after a while so underestimated me just drinking one. So with my winnings I spend it on another drink and add extra shots. Kay also gets another drink with more shots. Cee had gotten the 48oz drink with extra shots the first time. Lets just say the night gets more interesting as we head back out to Fremont.

By now it's dark out and the light show is in full swing and they now have real bands playing on stage. So what do we do? We start dancing and grooving and all that good stuff. At the time I didn't realize that my friends were a lot more drunk than I was. Kay starts dancing and taking pictures with this bride she barely knew and Cee was dancing and giggling more than usual. Soon enough I am looking at my friends thinking wait, how is it that I'm the soberest one? :nono: Now I'm not sober but being near them I might as well had been. I'm also not into watching over or being the "mom" of the group. I want to have a good ol' drunken time too. So I turn my attention to these 2 guys near me and strike a conversation by saying "Hey guys how would you like to entertain me by talking to my 2 really drunk friends?" They both laugh and are like sure! They were both 21 and from Arizona. One was in the Army and the other did security work. After about 10 minutes of chatting and dancing Kay decides she wants to suck face with Army dude. She literally was raping his mouth. It was funny to watch. People in the crowd were giving them thumbs up. At this point Cee decides she's going to go on the zipline and she leaves us and tells me that not to leave downtown before she is done.

After about 30 minutes more of booty shaking and my friend still raping this poor kids mouth I finish my drink and decide to get more beers because being the soberest has zero perks. I come back to find Kay dancing with an old guy in a Santa suit. She will seriously dance with anyone. She keeps muttering that she's really drunk, mind you I've known this girl for 8 years and never seen her wasted, but have seen her dance with random people plenty of times for shits and giggles. I keep downing my beers and successfully feeling that feel good drunken buzz going. At some point Kay tells me she needs to go back to the hotel. She actually starts drunkenly pleading with me to take her to the hotel. Now clouded by the amount I drank I look at her and say we can't leave Cee she's on line for the zipline, I think she already paid her money at this point. So here I am the not so soberest "sober" friend of the group trying to make a wise decision. I didn't know what condition Cee was in except that she was drunk and told me not to leave her in downtown. So Kay says to let her take a cab while I wait for Cee. The 2 guys and I walk her to a cab and say our goodbyes, I give her a room key and say call/text me when you get there please and told the cabbie where to take her.

**Kay's Adventures back to the hotel will be highlighted in Saturday Morning's portion of the report**

So here I am with now 1 cute guy, the other went to gamble, and we strike up conversation for what seems like a really long time. Finally Cee shows up after doing the zipline with a photo of her adventure and proceeds to tell me it was probably a poor decision to wait over an hour while very drunk for the zipline. She tells me she had trouble standing straight and walking straight the entire time but it was super fun riding the zipline. I update her with what happened with Kay and she's like oh boy, but thanks for waiting. She then says I'm hungry. And like magic words I'm like hell yeah I can eat. Then it dawns on us both, holy crap we never ate dinner!!!! No wonder we all got drunk and Kay was in the state she was in. :drunk: We wound up bumping into the other cute guy while the convo was going. And the guys decide they are hungry too. We decide to eat at Du-Pars because they advertised the best pancakes. :licklips: We are pancake people and well they didn't disappoint. I was so drunk at this point that I couldn't even read the menu. So I got pancakes and another beer because beer and pancakes is only acceptable in Vegas. Weird combo I know but hey I'm drunk and its Vegas. After eating I started to fall asleep at the table while apparently Cee engaged in an intellectual conversation with one of the cute guys. They actually paid for our meal which was super nice of them. They then walked us to a cab and bid us farewell.

The cabbie was super nice, we talked about rock music the whole ride back because Pink Floyd was on the radio and I was bitching about how NYC really doesn't have a rock music station anymore. After exiting the cab and getting to the hotel room we find Kay passed out in bed like a cocoon and snoring. Cee and I decide to make our Pedialyte hangover cocktails, thanks to the best hangover cure thread on here, and wind down from the crazy random night. I must have just passed out shortly after because I woke up in the middle of the night with a tight grip on the cap to my water bottle in my hand. I was puzzled and just put it on the night stand and rolled back over to sleep. :ssst:

    Preview into Saturday's shenanigans...Kay's drunken adventures...Hooker Stakeout.

I love JetBlue. I exclusively fly them unless its truly a better value to fly someone else. Usually it isn't though.

An AC trip would be cool. I haven't been in a few years. I have yet to go to the Resorts World Aqueduct in Queens which is like 15 mins from me. Terrible.

    Saturday 3/30

I wake up pretty early around 8am. No hangover! But Kay and Cee are in worst shape than me. Kay more so. Kay starts saying how she's never drinking again and swears off boys for the rest of the trip. We are all giggling and start telling her what happened down on Fremont. After a bunch of why didn't you stop me? And 21 are you sure? We laughed it off. Mind you Kay is 33 so hooking up with a 21 year old was kinda epic and might put her in cougar status. We tell her the boys bought us pancakes last night and she's like WTF I kissed him and you guys got pancakes, not fair!:Þ Cee also informs me that I fell asleep with my Pedialyte hangover drink and she had to pull it out of my hand before I spilled it all over the bed. She couldn't get the cap out of my other hand, so that solves that mystery.:ssst: We wind up falling back asleep for another 2 hours as its early. But once we are fully awake an account of Kay's adventures are revealed.

Kay proceeds to tell us that last night was kinda foggy. Most of Fremont Street seems like a blur to her. And that pretty much after getting in the cab things get hazier. :confused2: She ranted off to the cab driver that to please get her to the hotel safely and that she was a nice girl, but was from NYC so if needed she could Kung-fu his ass if he tries anything funny. After she got to the hotel she was quite hungry so she decided to go to Dick's Last Resort and sit down for service. However Dick's was closed and she sat down anyways muttering that she will wait until they open. And that someone was yelling at her that she had to leave. After that complete blackout. :drunk: She says she has no idea how she got into the room or into bed. Both Cee and I are like wow. I told her I gave her the hotel key and she was in bed when we got in so she had to let herself in. She goes to pull out the hotel key and low and behold she pulls out 2 keys and a note with our room number. She goes wow you guys didn't trust me you had to write down the room number so I didn't forget? Cee and I look at her puzzled and I tell her I never wrote down the room number, nor gave her 2 keys since we only had 2 to begin with. I proceed with WTF happened to you? She's like OMG I really have no idea. We all bust out laughing. I told her its obvious she must have went to the front desk. She's claims to not have any recollection. We are all laughing so hard now as this is the type of Vegas mystery we now know will never be answered. :ssst: We joke a bit about how we would love to see the security footage of her escapades. Man oh man thinking back I really wished I had seen this in person, but then again if we had gone back together it might not have happened.

We start to get ready to go out and I kid you not I come out of the shower and look at Cee and go hey we match! I was wearing black yoga capris and a bold blue shirt. She had on bold blue capris and a black tank top. We high five each other and turn around and Kay is wearing the same outfit as me. Again we all bust out laughing. We did not plan this at all but what the hell, we rolled with it. :peace:

Our first stop was Planet Hollywood so we could try Earl of Sandwich. Unfortunately the line was insanely long and Kay and Cee were not down with waiting considering Kay was extremely hungover and hadn't eaten in almost 24 hours. So we go to Yolo's instead. The food was pretty good. Kay and I both got Carnitas Tacos with Cilantro Rice. Man that was one of the best tasting rice I have ever had and the tacos were delish! Cee had gotten Steak Fajitas and she said they were good too.

After lunch we wandered around PH and MM. We happened to stumble upon Mike Tyson appearing to sign autographs at a sports store. This was epic as Kay kept saying all she needed to make last nights blackout complete was to find Mike Tyson. :nworthy: We didn't want his autograph but Kay did sneak a pic of him from the TV they had outside the store.

Next Cee wanted to get a massage so while she did that I took this opportunity to drag Kay to gamble. We signed up for TR cards and were told there's this big machine outside we can play once for free as new members. Cool I thought so we went for it and we both won a free souvenir which happened to be a PH shot glass. Afterwards I plopped myself down at a Sex and the City slot and lost $20 before Cee showed up. We then walked over to Bellagio to watch the fountains and then went inside to check out what was there. After walking around and snapping pics at the garden inside we walked over to The Cosmopolitan. Last year we only went into this hotel to catch a cab, and saw a rather large girl fall out of a limo in a tight dress and 5 inch heels, and laughed hysterically.:evillaugh This time there was nothing exciting. I found the hotel boring, it seemed like there was just the casino and fancy decorations and nothing to really sightsee. Next was walking through City Center. Again boring. I can't afford these high end shops in NYC so they don't appeal to me in Vegas. And it seems Vegas is over saturated with them. :rolleyes2: We then wander into Aria so I could redeem my pastry award from MyVegas. The Aria was nice and I liked the casino. The pastry award was $10 to use so I got a fancy red velvet cupcake which was $5.50 and I let Kay and Cee pick out a dessert to share they chose a Nutella thing which was $6.90 so they paid the difference. Man that cupcake was delish! I would definitely stop at this place again while in Vegas to try another dessert. Kay and Cee agreed their Nutella dessert was good as well. Afterwards we walk back to the hotel and rest up for the night.

After a wonderfully refreshing 2hour nap we get ready to go out. We decide we need to eat dinner this time before drinking. So we hit the Excalibur food court and I get Pizza Hut (think fill my belly with bread) and they get Chinese. I made the better choice as after a while the Chinese wasn't sitting well in their stomachs. We take the monorail to Harrah's so we could go to Carnaval Court. It was $10 to get in and there was a band playing cheesy songs. The drinks were super expensive and the vibe was so blah. We sat down at a table and felt quite bored. Maybe because we were drained from last night and this afternoon. Or maybe it really was the vibe. Then this creepy guy comes and pulls a chair up to our table and stares at us for a good solid minute before he says anything. :vomit: He says we look bored and wants us to come hangout with him and his friends. We politely decline, like I said he looked and acted creepy, and Kay left the table. When he finally left Kay comes back after with drinks for us and says she did shots with her new friends at the bar who were less creepy. She told us they were swingers from Maine. Ahhh only in Vegas. We talk amongst ourselves and decide that we need to change venues because the vibe here was so blah.

We leave Caranval Court and head to Walgreens to buy cheaper drinks. We walk around a bit and check out the Wynn. Nice and classy that place. We walk down back towards Harrah's and sit right by the Deuce bus stop. We start chatting and stuff when I start pointing out hookers. We played a game of every time we thought we saw a hooker we had to take a swig of beer. Now the criteria for spotting hookers or "bumblebees" as the front desk clerk Jeffery called them was this. Usually girls by themselves walking around with a cell phone either talking or pretending to. They might be dressed to impress or look like they are trying too hard. We decided our code word was bumble when we thought we spotted one. :wink2: Given that we were 3 girls the odds of getting approached by one were slim to none so this hooker stakeout was our form of entertainment. We spotted quite a few but one that drew our attention was the one who had a group of guys around her. We also speculated her pimp was about 10 feet away hiding behind some bushes because she was watching her like a hawk. After we got bored with our stakeout we went back into Caranval Court and danced to about 3 songs before deciding to leave. Of course we stop in ladies room before departing and I believe we ran into 2 more bumbles. They struck a convo with us about their outfits/baby daddies and asked us if the guys that were waiting outside were cute or not and if they should ditch them. Maybe they weren't bumbles, but who knows. The guys weren't bad looking. We said our goodbyes and headed back to the hotel to crash. Since we had to walk through MGM from the monorail it was time to checkout the ever popular Lion's Share. Unfortunately some guy was on it :grrr: when we found it and we decided to try it again in the morning.

It was tonight that we all realized downtown has a much better party atmosphere and are probably giving up on drinking to excess on the strip and having a good time.

Sunday Preview: Bacon infused waffles!!! Me getting grabby with a hot tushy. Attempt #2 at the Lion's Share.

What about 104.3? I don't listen to the radio much anymore because I hardly drive but I always considered that a good classic rock station. Looking forward to the rest of your report.

I don't listen to the Radio much here in NYC but yeah 104.3 is around but there's no station putting out new rock music. However I'm perfectly content if a station just plays 90s grunge rock. :peace:

I promise to have the rest of the trip report up soon, hopefully by the weekend. It's being a busy couple of days celebrating my birthday  and getting back in work mode :faint:
