That is the sole reason I LOVE to play in Vegas is because I can play alone in most occasions at the baccarat tables. Especially at the Wynn/Encore. I get in, make my surgical strike and get out as fast as possible. Get what I want and need and disappear. I don't like to over stay my own welcome and especially I don't like other players disrupting my positive flow if I am lucky enough to have any. I know it is all variance... but. Worst case is when folks are smoking and yapping about how much they have lost. Do I really care? Do you want some sympathy? Honestly it is not my money and I don't really care and no there is no sympathy since you didn't do your homework before wagering down real money.

100% agree. It shouldn't be the case that you need to leave because others are being jerks, but it is just something that happens in general. If someone else is making you have a bad time, leave the table and find somewhere else. Same if you are on a table that the dealer is just rude, leave and find something else. Granted, sometimes another table just isn't an option and you have to weigh your choices.

I prefer a table with people but usually not full-1. It depends on the casino in that case and if they shove 7 people on a table or not. I've gotten killed at tables when I'm alone so I try to avoid that. I know there will be times I will lose quickly, I just want to stretch it out a bit.

I NEVER go on an empty craps table in Vegas. I've done so in other areas but that was because it was the only craps table in the city. I don't mine other card games solo. Paigow I will do solo often, but still prefer others. Same with Let it Ride and Crazy4 Poker. Roulette I really don't care about other people, I care more about where my spot is on the table so it isn't a pain to place bets.

I don't mind being at a BJ table by myself if the dealer is friendly and willing to carry on a conversation. My last trip the table cleared out and I was by myself. The dealer changed out and this female dealer was a real peach.....NOT. I managed to only last two hands and I had to get up and leave....:rolleyes2:

Pai Gow Poker is one of the few places that I seek out a full table, as your odds improve rather dramatically on the bonus bet the more hands are in play . (You win an 'envy' bonus when any of the other players has a premium bonus hand; you win less of these when some of the hands are dead).

At blackjack if you are an advantage player you should prefer an empty table, not because you get better cards but only because you get a lot more hands per hour. If you are a basic strategy player, the opposite would be true as you want to play as slowly as possible, limiting your expected losses.

One other note about playing alone at Pai Gow Poker. Always be the banker every-other hand as there is zero additional risk and you will win any ties when you are the banker. When there are other players you should probably be the banker as much as you can, but only if the additional bets you have to cover won't do serious damage to your bankroll. You also risk irritating some players that don't like to play against a player banker; they only like to play against the house. If I see that's the case at the table I'm at (they take their bets back when I bank), I usually skip the banking.

Love playing BJ alone. Like to spread out and play two or three hands at a time. I'll usually do this in the wee hours of night.

Sadly some casinos don't let you do this. Not sure which ones it was but they didn't just go back and forth with me, they actually passed the bank around the empty table so I still only got to bank every 7? hands. I've even heard of some where they rotate it between the player and house on every hand so it takes 14 hands between each of your banks.

I'm not that great of a BJ player so I'd rather play alone which would be usually in the wee early hrs. of the morning.

Or if my family would commandeer a table all to ourselves. They are more understanding and forgiving if I make a mistake and vice versa.

And more fun. I love fun tables. Hate tables with angry, obnoxious, ass-hole, rude, holier than thou pukes.

Only exception is crap tables. If I encounter jerks like above I just leave, unless the table is hot then I'll tolerate them as best as can.:Þ

I play alone sometimes but usually like to find a fun table preferably with intelligent people who know how to play. I know that dumb people who don't play basic strategy don't effect my cards and I never say anything to them. But I don't have much patience for stupidity so being around stupid people isn't fun.

Last year we stayed at the Venetian. I ended up at a blackjack table with 5 other people who were so much fun! We played a good part of the day together. Occasionally someone would leave to go eat, then come back and get back in the game. The next day we all were looking for each other to do it all again.I wish it could always be that way.

I actually prefer a table with other people. Every time I sit down at an empty table my funds go south quick.

When I am at a table alone, sometimes I feel like a certain sense of exclusivity which feels good. After all, in the high limit lounge, some people ask to have their tables closed off. I feel like I'm getting that without the casino loyalty. lol

This is a really good point! I enjoy 6-deck a lot better with a large table.

It's very interesting that you mentioned craps. For craps, I definitely need at least one other person who will shoot the di because I do not like playing the pass line.

I love an empty BJ table! I can't stand these asshats who flitter in and out from tables, playing one or two hands, and then leave.....only to come back, again, and again, doing the same crap! I want to punch them!

The best thing about an empty table? No one is "stealing you cards". Another thing: Any dealer worth their salt, learns how I play (or you play), in 10 hands. After that, they should deal on auto pilot, and the game should be a snap!

Craps is another story. I like to have about a half full table. I love to shoot the dice, but I don't want to do it 24/7! I need some other folks mixed in, to make the game fun.

Craps - I prefer to have other players at the table so I don't have to shoot the dice everytime. If I do go to an empty table I will shoot once or twice and then wait if no one else shows up.

Pai Gow Poker - I like an empty table so I can bank every other hand.

I can't play at an empty table. Gambling is social entertainment for me, so its important to have other players, and preferably other folks who are looking to be social. A quiet table with typically scare me off as well. I'm not looking to become best friends, but I like a table that roots for everyone and is happy when others win.

I also dislike playing with critical/negative players. IMO - play your game, and don't pay too much attention to the game those around you are playing. But if it does end up bugging you too much, instead of being critical of the play around you, just politely choose to go to another table. If the play of others really bugs you, maybe choosing a table alone or with fewer players is more your speed.

To each his own for sure! :peace:

Generally i always sit down at an almost-full table.

The one exception to that is if i'm playing a match-play coupon. Often I'll just play that as a one-and-done, if i win or lose i walk. Many players at BJ tables get all pissy about that, so i'll do that hand at an empty table...

Playing mainly craps would like a semi to full table. Reason being that i am NOT a great dice shooter. However if playing L.I.R or C.S.P can go either way.

I like to play blackjack on my own, as I don't like being criticized the the die hard players if they think I should have played the hand differently.
