So, We are thinking about making our next trip out - our last three were in May - Aug - Nov. Not a fan of it's "insane" but the way life is going that is looking like a good weekend and the window is getting smaller.
Plus, we got a decent offer for some comped nights - free food - air fare is running about $200 give or take from Sat 2/2 - Wed 2/6.
I really don't want to be there for CNY - which seems to be busier..

Quite honestly, I don't watch football -- but want to go to vegas.. Is it so crowded it's not fun? Labor day weekend was pushing it... I don't care about SB parties, my husband and I are just looking to hang out for a few days...

    So, what's the general concensus?

It is crowded with SB fans (especially of the two teams) but it is also fun. You can play BJ or craps or whatever and soak up the excitement of the fans in the casino watching on various televisions. The buzz Saturday and 1/2 day Sunday is which team will prevail which is fun to reflect on at 1/2 time. However, once the game is over it is exit time for most of those that came solely for the game so it won't be crowded for the remainder of your trip. My experience last time was the casino games (table) were jacked a little on minimums about the beginning of the 4th quarter until midnight or so. Hoping to catch the post-gamers I suppose but that is a good time to eat as well. Good luck and go for it!

Its one of the busiest weekends in Vegas, next to NYE without that level of insanity.
You will wait in line, see higher table limits, and experience a crowd level higher than most.

However I think its worth going to Vegas at least once during this time. If you enjoy meeting new people, seeing unusual things (even by Vegas standards) and have a group of friends to go with, its a fantastic weekend.

I have done at least 7 to 8 SB weekends in Vegas since the mid 90's. Definitely one of my favorite times of year to attend. If you hate crowds, then avoid it like plague and stick to the low season where you will find plenty of cheap room rates and low table limits.

It is an experience everyone should try once. The good news is it will be empty Monday - Wednesday.

Done it twice and would never do it again. The crowds are just too much for me. Both times we were invited to a casino party for the "big game" and it felt like I was in my basement rec room.

But as others have said, Monday it clears out.

Thanks for the advice... still have not pulled the trigger on the airfare... just cannot decide.

We like to meet people, like a little "vibe" but.... don't like crazy. On the other hand, as mentioned when everyone goes home Monday - Tues - Wed would be AWESOME! So, Sat - Sun would be some fun people watching - chilling, hanging out time??
Might see what the Tuesday airfare wars bring and take it from there - thinking about in on Sat - out on Wed and expectation that Sat and Sun are going to be busy....

When we went in May it was quiet.... Sept (labor day) pretty busy ... Nov was quiet ...

If I have a drink in my hand and a VP/slot machine I'm pretty happy.. :peace:

This will be our third year for SuperBowl. We used to go for March Madness. It really doesn't seem all that crowded for SuperBowl. Parties for the big game aren't cheap. We go the "ladies entertainment" route. Best deal. Big enough crowds to make it interesting by not overly crowded. This is the first year in the last 3 that doesn't have much in the way of good shows. We'll eat and drink and gamble. Go to the UFC and the Superbowl party. Wind it down Monday and head home Tuesday. Overall it is always a good time.

    Can be fun

    Depends:
Last few years it's not as Crazy as During boom town times(pre 2006)

Me & Wifies B-days fall on superbowl weekend, so it's great time for a trip for us.
    (get out of town Tries)
We have done passive Superbowl Sunday, that included the 4-wheeler Double live Gonzo Sunday that's
(Not in Valley of Fire, even thought it's the Valley of Fire 4 Wheeler Tour) that entails Following a crazy lady in giant sand dunes,
so you can wreck (we didnt wreck) 35 miles from Las Vegas, going back to the hotel covered in sand.
    (stay in town tries)
To Superbowl Walking on the strip & playing or eating almost anywhere you want, because everyone is watching the Superbowl Game.
Including playing Lions share @ MGM During the game. < personal Fav...

To be honest, the storm blows in on Fri night & soon as the game is over, about an hour or three the town Empties out.

Post superbowl Monday, Tue, Wed are play, stay, see & do what every you want days.

    Have fun.

Hmmm, well - "ladies entertainment" route not really my style - I'm a girl... while I can appreciate a nice looking woman... I'm a nurse and I see enough "naked people" at work - I don't want to spend my off time looking at them. :poke:

And, I now wish I had booked the SW fares before they went back up to $240 each.... :grrr: :grrr:

Called Monte Carlo - they said they still had lots and lots of rooms so our comped room is no issue.. I sat on this way to long. Reading your advice - I think it would be great fun to hang out - catch the excitement.. maybe between CNY and the week that the big conference is in town - feb 18th??

A few weeks ago I saw an airfare for $160 RT - what was I thinking???
    Nuff - said.

    Congrats!!

Not that I mind the view at the club, I don't really go for the ladies. Its cheap, its all you can drink, they have food and raffle things off. For less than 100.00, which includes "top" shelf booze it is hard to find a better deal. We've done other places in the past and it always cost us way more money.

Send me a PM if you want to get together, I'll buy you and if you have a friend/husband a drink.

See the Vegas Get Togethers section where a pinned thread has everyone who will be in town that weekend. I am sure a meet up or two will be planned!
