Has anyone stayed at Tropicana recently? I haven't been to Vegas in over 2 years, and I have been reading alot about big improvements here. I have never stayed at The Trop before and I'm giving it a little consideration. I'd be booking a package on Jet Blue and the rates are pretty good, but i see they have resort fees! Are the Garden rooms gone? I've heard they were the pits. If we do stay there, is there any preference for towers since the upgrades? If we don't stay here, it most likely will be Ballys or Flamingo.

Unless you get a killer deal or free stay I would suggest Bally's instead by a great margin. Better location and more consistent service. Tropicana is clean and new and the rooms are fine, but they have still not been able to get properly settled in and attain any sort of consistency with anything.

I'll link it if I can find it, but there's another thread that discusses the new Tropicana in depth . . .

I actually love the Tropicana. I like the fact that you don't have to walk a ton to get from the casino to your room, I love the comps they give and I think the service is great.

I know I'm a minority on this board, but the last 4 trips we have stayed there and we will be returning in May.

I have not stayed in the rooms but the casino is nice and clean and easy to get a seat at a table or slot. I had a ton of fun there last time I was in Vegas.

tropicana is nice ... i stayed before the remodeling and i enjoyed it.

the problem is the Tropicana is charging City Center prices when its probably only worth luxor prices.

You can get great deals at the Trop, we stayed 2 years ago and the place was great. I have been in Luxor rooms- there are no comparisons between the two, Trop is a million times nicer than Luxor.

Agreed! Though it's been years since I stayed here (long before the remodel), I've been by several times in the past year and enjoyed the property and the service. I've visited friends staying there and there's nothing wrong with the Tropicana IMHO.

I like the Trop, great location, rooms are OK but the customer service is wanting. A lot of the dealers are overtly rude. I will not ever go there to stay again.
