Mirage 1 Bed Suite (1200 sqft) or Cosmo Suite (910 sqft)

Hi all - looking for a good stay (JAN 28, 2013 5 nights) with great views of the strip while having a lively casino crowd - of these two resorts (or perhaps others similar), which is a better choice?

Love to compare/share thoughts on the following:

-Views of Strip
-Food quality
-Casino vibe/fun
-Overall

Well, personally I would take Cosmo. I love the new casino with all its excitement, and as far as views . . . they are all fantastic (but the fountain view rooms are in a league all their own).

The real deal maker for me, though, is the BALCONY that you get with the Cosmo rooms.

 

Cosmo BLOWS the view away.
Food quality is near even.
Casino Vibe - mixed reviews here.

Location -not asked - right next to Aria, Bellagio, PH and Paris. Big plus.

 

cosmo suite with a balcony and fountain view would definitely beat anything at Mirage short of their villas any day of the week.

 

thanks guys - so is it any room with a Balcony at Cosmo or does it have to be a PREMIUM Suite room?

Hows the food quality/pricing?

I do like that its "newer" and more in vogue than the dated Mirage - just want the best of both worlds I guess to have a great view of strip and lively crowd to mingle with.

 

well if you've got a view on the backside looking at city center, that's nowhere near as good as a fountain view or at least a front strip view. but still probably better than Mirage either way.

food pricing is going to be high as all pricing is high at Cosmo.

 

Any "fountain view" room at Cosmo should blow you away. Fountain view wraparound terrace rooms are off the chart!

 

thats what I thought - I guess its too good to be true at Mirage with that 1 Bedroom Suite because it could totally throw you behind the hotel -

so should I shoot for at least the Premium Terrace Suite @ Cosmo for a chance at the strip view?

2200 smackers for that room - do these ever go on special for JAN-FEB '13?

 

do these wrap arounds have views of the entire strip (north and south)?

any other hotels with comparable views perhaps cheaper?

Definitely correct in terms of the view, but the Tower and Penthouse suites at the Mirage are quite nice. I would possibly take one over a wraparound at the Cosmo unless the view was the most important factor. I would definitely go w tower suite at Mirage over anything less than wraparound @ Cosmo. If price even comes into play, It's Mirage all the way.

 

Price seems close compared with Cosmo wrap And mirage tower. In terms of feel and crowd, isn't mirage a little dated? I like that Cosmo is more hip. I'm 40 but not dead yet

 

I'm your age, but agree with the sentiment.
I prefer the new youthful excitement of Cosmo. Even though I don't go to clubs or hang out with such crowds, I like the party atmosphere and seeing all the girls dressed to impress.

Mirage is nice. I like it. But in 2012 it's not really delivering the "wow" factor as much and it feels a bit generic in it's vibe.

The only thing that I personally prefer Mirage for is their high-limit slots. The area at Cosmo is really nice for the HL Slots, but the selection is small and they seem to be about the tightest machines in Vegas.

 

There are two different fountain view wraparound terrace locations (wraparound suites are on the corner of the building). One has a view north and south on the strip, plus the fountain. The other has a view north on the strip, the fountain and west towards Rio, Aria and Monte Carlo. Either one should be pretty amazing. Get a high floor if you dont want any of your view obstructed by the bellagio sign/tower. From what I have seen, wraparound terraces run about $3-400 on most non-holiday weeknights.
