While bargaining for lesser fines for traffic tickets is an everyday event for the general public, that option has disappeared for taxi drivers caught long hauling, or running up the tab on unsuspecting tourists.

Wait, didn't they just have a big crack-down on long-hauling? Musta been really effective, huh?

 

Don't mean to hijack the thread, but when we were in Seattle last week, all the cabs have one flat rate to downtown hotels. $32. Sounds steep, but Seatac airport to downtown is quite a drive.

OK, back to Vegas and long hauling.

 

New Orleans has a flat rate to the airport too. It was $20 each way the last time I was there.

 

It's usually a flat rate from the airport to cruise ports.
