There is info in the article about possible replacements.

When I stayed there in June, Red Square appeared dead.

Well I'm going to have to take some of the blame for this. On our last trip to Vegas we tried the happy hour at Red Square and LOVED it and she's been telling me how much she wants to go back on our upcoming trip. It seems that my wife and I loving a restaurant or (TV show for that matter) is the kiss of death. So for those of you who liked Red Square, We are Sorry :(

There are probably a few other closings we should be apologizing for to :ssst:

I've long since come to the conclusion that part of what makes Vegas Vegas, esp the strip, is constant change. Restaurants don't stay open, and good ones don't always stay good. I embrace the change, and look forward to trying new places, and try to not to get into dining habits, because eventually disappointment will strike.

Please do me a favor and start loving the following in no particular order:

    Vegas street characters
    The Hooters Hotel and Casino
People on the vegas strip who walk slower than wilford brimley
    Resort fees

    Thanks in advance

Add mLife on that list for me as well.

Looks like if I am going to try Red Square than I better do it in October. Always thought it would be fun to grab an appetizer and vodka flight and call it a meal, but I never seem to be at Mandalay Bay when RS is open.

I thought I read Red Square is being "reimagined"

as far as the other 2.. meh. Didn't care for my meal at either.

I think this is good! I LOVE dining at Mandalay, I'm excited to see what new stuff they bring to the table.

That's the appeal of Las Vegas. Everything changes, even the good. It keeps you coming back to a new experience every time you go there. It literally creates a new town of itself every so often.

Very true. I like RWB, but one of these places closing gives me any pause. I hope they are replaced by something new and fun.

Now Seablue closing at MGM! That's a different story. I might stage a one man protest :Þ

I used to go to Red Square when Mandalay was 'newer'. But over the years, it doesn't seem to be the same as it used to.

I've only been to RWB, once for a quick bite. I wasn't impressed.

Like others have said. Change is good.

Also, with changes coming to THEhotel by the Delano group, they have also secured leases on some of these spaces.

I wonder what they'll do with the statue of Stalin that was in front of Red Square. Didn't it actually come from Moscow?

We ate at Red Square once. It was very good, I remember, but we've never been back. There used to be a fantastic Chinese place in that area at MB, too, but when we visited last year it was gone. It had the best orange beef I've ever tasted.

I liked the happy hour at Red Square, good price for decent food and coctails. Seems like they'd invest time and money into that HUGE empty space next door that used to be Rum Jungle but has been empty for several years now. Every time we go back I keep expecting to see something there, but as we come out of the parking garage it's still all closed up.

Red, White, and Blue was the first place I ate at in Vegas. December '09. Been there only once. Walked past it a couple times since then. Thought it was ok. Spent $35 for lunch, just for myself.

    From USAToday:

    http://travel.usatoday.com/hotels/post/2012/08/las-vegas-mandalay-bay-the-hotel-new-name-delano-hotel/830511/1

    The summary of changes:

New show: A Beatles Love-style Michael Jackson show by Cirque du Soleil in May 2013 will launch in the theater formerly occupied by the Lion King.

New restaurants: In the Mandalay Bay complex, expect to find a renovated Red Square restaurant. Work will also begin so two new restaurants that haven't yet been named - a casual American bistro with chef Brian Massie of Light Group, and chef Akira Back who created the Japanese resturant Yellow Tail at Bellagio.

New nightclub: The now-closed Rum Jungle restaurant and nightclub is being transformed into a new nightclub "powered by Cirque du Soleil." Miller expects it will lure people both inside and outside Mandalay Bay and generate bookings for the hotel.

Casino renovation: Expect to see upgrades in the casino next year.

New entrance: Right now, the complex's underground entrance to the hotel is drab and industrial looking; it will be overhauled before the Delano opens.

Four Seasons: The 424-room Four Seasons hotel that occupies the top five floors (floors 35 to 39) at Mandalay Bay is about to get a full room and suite remodel. The rooms will be ready by the end of this year.
