Drink Service

In your opinion (and experience), which strip casino has the best drink service/waitresses for gamblers?

Planet Hollywood has always been real good to me.

 

In my experience, the best** are Aria, Cosmo and Wynn/Encore.

At Bellagio, the waitresses and drinks are excellent. But, they don’t seem to come around quite as quickly as they do at the above places.

If you’re looking to get drunk, I would advise to avoid Palazzo at all costs…like the freaking desert in that joint!


** For me, “best” means: Fast, friendly CWS, well made cocktails, easily comp’d premium booze, served in nice glasses

We have never had less than exemplary service at Wynncore.

 

I guess it would vary based on what game you are playing, how busy that casino is at the time, day or week, your tip amount, etc. Some variance on what you are drinking.

 

I think everything in LV varies on what game, casino traffic and time of day/week/holiday, amount etc.

 

Mandalay Bay/Luxor have been pretty good for me. I've had good service at every downtown casino as well.

All places can be hit or miss though.

Drink service on slots varies greatly.

 

My favorite is the Wynn.

 

I played both slots and table games in the Margaritaville casino (part of Flamingo) over the course of several days, and could barely finish my drink before the waitress came around again. Fantastic frozen margarita's (as you might expect) and good lookin' waitresses in bikini tops

 

Just ask for more then one drink at once if it doesnt come fast enough...

 

If you can get past the construction, service has always been quick at the IP.

 

The cocktail waitresses will almost never bring somebody two drinks at once.


As for drink service in general: any mention of how good or bad drink service is/was at a particular property is purely anecdotal.

Like I can say "on my last trip to Las Vegas I was playing video poker at Mirage and the drink service was great!"

But that doesn't mean if you go back there now that the service is still going to be great at those same machines, it might not even be as good as I had it an hour or two after I left...

Like Aria is a great example:
They are getting some good reviews for drink service and last year we spent one trip at Aria and another at Monte Carlo. Both trips we spent a lot of time in the Aria casino and in general drink service was great.

BUT... we stayed at Aria for a trip this past April and of all the time we spent in the Aria casino (16-18 hours over three days) only twice did a waitress come around to take my drink order and for one of those she took the order but never brought the drink.


If you are really hankering for a drink and are a beer drinker I would just go to the casino gift shop and buy a can of beer - its usually $3.50-4.50 and you get whats the equivalent of 2 beers. No its not "free" like it would be on the casino floor but if you are tipping $1 a drink its only $1.50 to $2.50 more for two drinks than you would have paid in tips and you have the drink right then and there.

 

We have found the Luxor CW's very friendly and accomodating especially if you start them off with a good tip on the first drink and continue to tip thereafter. Generally the service for us is great (2 drinks, comes often) but we are regular visitors and most CW's know who we are and what we drink without us asking.

Mandalay Bay & Monte Carlo we found the CW's come around often and will get you a drink and a water if you ask.

MGM while we were playing the Lion's Share machine we saw the CW once our last trip which bewildered us as normally the service is fabulous in that section. We were there over 2 hours was really disappointing. We must have hit it on an off day.

I stayed at the Mirage last year, and this very nice (and busty) lady named Morla provided the best drink service I've ever had.

 

Anecdotal? Certainly. Irrelevant? I sure don't think so. I've been to Vegas enough (as have you and plenty of others) to know that some properties are better - more often than not - than others with respect to drink service. Sure every place has it's "good" and "bad" days. But that doesn't mean that it's all one big crap shoot.

 

Too late now, but I used to get speedy drink service at Stardust.

 

Yeah it does seem hit or miss. Not to mention the quality depends on the place. A lot of the CET props use the damn soda gun booze. That always irks me.

Free drink coupon at Wynn nets you a Tanqueray and Tonic, same thing at Harrah's gets you Gin flavored Gin.

Oh well, it all gets you drunk right?

 

Maybe it's just me but I've never had luck with the drink service at Luxor. Can't complain about Planet Hollywood or Paris, though.

 

Do you feel the same with restaurant service?

I agree that 1 comment or review doesn't mean a whole lot, but 100 people saying they had a good experience somewhere does mean something. Of course service could change, but if you make that assumption then the whole concept of reviews goes out the window.

Casinos are in a service based industry. While drink service might not be the most critical thing, it certainly does affect why some people go to certain casinos.
