Hi all

My fiancee and i are coming to vegas 10th sept -20th sept and we plan on getting married while we are there, it will be our first trip to vegas so any tips on what to watch out for would be great.

Best tip I can give is just continuously read the board and do your research. Ask specific questions if they come up.

Where are you staying, how much do you want to spend, how many people are you bringing? Age?

Someone just posted something about getting married next year, may still be on the front page. Is this just the two of you secretly getting married? Sounds like fun whatever it is because ITS VEGAS!

 

Thanks just the two of us coming over we are staying at hooters as it was a good deal for us coming from the uk, it was only a bit more than just the flights on there own. Its kind of a secret wedding as we have spoken about it to family but not said for definate that we are even though we are.

We have a budget of around $2-3000 for the ten days we are there we dont want a big flash wedding just something simple as its just the two of us.

Welcome, you will learn many things from this site, and I have found everyone to be very friendly. You should have no problem finding whatever kind of wedding you want in vegas. There is everything from simple, to strange, to extravagent. You can find almost any theme imaginable. If you have a question that nobody can answer, there are some really nice people that will probably help you find the answer.

 

10 days is a long time with only $2-3000 bucks, BUT its totally do able. You'll just have to manage your money very well and don't go over your daily budget.

I'm about 75% sure I'm gonna book a trip Sept 9-13, Ill come to your wedding!!

In many places in the U.S. your budget would be just fine - luxurious even. Vegas is a place designed around visitors spending lots of money. After a few days, you might find Vegas somewhat boring if you aren't spending money.

If you're splitting your days between the hotel pool, your room, and some nice but inexpensive restaurants for dinner, then even $100/day for two should be just fine. I'd suggest 3 days is plenty to see Vegas. After that, you want to find things to do in Vegas - sitting poolside or watching people definitely qualifies. But $200/day - with your hotel costs covered and excluding your wedding package - is plenty to enjoy something special every day, and still have a few dollars left for some gambling. Alcohol costs can really vary - from enjoying store-bought beverages in your room (practically free) to $10 beers poolside at a nice resort pool. For some, $100/day per person just for beverages is a good budget. For others...free while playing slots, or $2/day from the store is enough.

You will need a witness or two. The people there will do it, but they want money.

If they offer you any extras for the wedding deny them all. Everything extra costs. Candles lit? Costs money. etc etc etc.

If your $200 - $300 per day does not include your hotel then you will be fine.
Plenty of ways to do Las Vegas on that budget.

1. Buy a bus pass. Look for posts from Dewey?????? about the bus. It might be $20 bucks for five days or something. Dewey has the scoop. Maybe there is a monthly pass, I don't know.

2. Walk. A lot. It will be warm in September, so you can easily walk around in shorts and flip flops. The casinos will seem cold so if your bride to be gets a bit chilly, tell her to bring a light jacket or light sweater.

3. Bring comfortable walking shoes. The first three days I would definitely just walk around and bus around and see everything. No gambling. A Las Vegas block equals one mile, that casino that looks close is far, far away.

4. Don't gamble the first three days. Sure, take a big bet on one of the mega millions slot machines, but don't park your buttocks in a chair. See Vegas.

5. The Fabulous Las Vegas sign is about a 15 minute walk SOUTH of Mandalay Bay. You will have to cross the busy las vegas BLVD and drivers are pretty dumb by that sign.

6. Fremont Street Experience. This is old Las Vegas. Take the EXPRESS bus up there.

7. Ride the free shuttle buses offered by the casinos. Gold Coast has a shuttle that picks you up at Bills Gambling Hall. Harrah's has a shuttle that picks you up at Ballys' or Harrahs.

8. The Gold Coast shuttle will take you to the gold coast and from there you can walk and see Rio Casino and Palms Casino.

9. The Gold Coast shuttle takes you to Orleans Casino. See the Orleans then take the free shuttle back to Bills.

10. The Harrah's shuttle also takes you to Rio. From there you could walk over and see Gold Coast or Palms Casino.

11. There are a lot of free things in the casinos to see. Caesars has the animatron statue show. Venetian has the canal and shops. Palazzo has the Live Woman Statue show. The pirate battle out by the TI. The Mirage Volcano. Fremont Street Experience.

12. Definitely hang out by the pool during the day. Get a tan. Watch the pool parties. Get there early.

13. Ride the free tram that goes to Excalibur, Luxor, and Mandalay Bay. See the garden area out in front of Mandalay Bay.

14. There is a monorail on the east side of the strip that goes up and down but that is $10 per day, and will dump you off in places far, far away from casinos that you will walk a long ways to get to what you want to see.

Lots and lots of stuff to do.

 

thanks for the informative reply its very helpful, the budget we have is just for spending and a weeding chapel depending on what we choose to go for and we have paid for our hotel and flghts.

think we will just relax and take it easy for the first few days might get the wedding done then the rest of the time will be our honeymoon maybe hit a few casino and see if we can win a few extra dollers!

Hi Matt! Congratulations! My husband and I will be there the 15th - 21st, so if ya need a witness or two we would love to join you...lol! We could at least meet up for a celebratory drink!!!
