Staying at Bellagio starting Thursday. Booked my room at a convention rate/block, not through Marriott. No MGM status after last year. We expect to get there around 4 and I know what check in can look like mid afternoon. I believe there was supposed to be a check in line for Marriott elites (I’m Titanium).

2 questions - does such a line actually exist? And if so, any experience using it if you didn’t book through the Marriott app or site? I know I won’t get any of the other (minimal) benefits, but being able to skip a long check in line would be valuable.

Following out of curiosity. I’m wondering if Marriott line is the same as platinum line? At Cosmo, even if I didn’t book via Marriott, I always went into the autograph lounge to checkin and have them input my Marriott number for my room upgrade. Don’t see why you couldn’t do the same at Bellagio or any other MGM property now? Just have to decide if you wanna earn Marriott or mgm points and if you don’t really plan to gamble or get backend comps and it’s a work trip, seems like Marriott status would get you more?

Can confirm it is the same, and no issue using it even though I didn’t book through Marriott and my Marriott number wasn’t originally linked. No room upgrade due to availability since it is the first weekend of basketball.

Did you decide to add Marriott number to earn nights or are you gonna keep it as mgm to earn potential backend comps?

Is that how it works, you can't get the credit for the nights if you get comps? Or you aren't comp eligible if your Marriott number is attached?

That is my understanding under the new partnership:(

I wish they had just used the partnership they had with Cosmo cuz I could use my casino comp nights and have them add my Marriott number for an upgrade and it be counted as a stay night but also use my platinum card to remove the resort fees. You couldn’t double dip for point purchases so you had to decide how you earn the points, but it was relatively easy to switch in the system before you checked out. Not so at MGM and now Cosmo:(. You have to choose one or the other right away and if you are Marriott, you get charged the resort fee even if you have status with MGM:(

I did stop by the desk and ask about putting my Marriott number on my room and she said that you have to book through the Marriott site to be eligible for Marriott nights or benefits, which makes sense. No double dipping.

I get no double dipping, but I’m surprised they can’t change it in the system if you changed your mind and wanted to earn points and nights via Marriott instead…

I booked a Bellagio remodeled premier spa king for two nights on my MGM app. Today I looked at my reservation and my room type had changed to a fountain view king. Huh?

I looked at the details and it lists my platinum tier MGM status as well as "ambassador elite" status.

I guess since I linked my Marriott Bonvoy account, I was automatically upgraded???
I didn't book through Marriott so it's interesting that they would do that. My current status at Marriott Bonvoy is "Platinum Eilte".

When is your stay? I don't think you were upgraded because of Marriott status, but more likely because of your MGM Platinum status/host.

My reservations also show similar Marriott details.

May 3 - 5. I booked the spa tower room because it was the cheapest. I am getting the room for a friend while I actually stay at Cosmo. I wanted her to be closer to the new walkway so it was faster to Cosmo.

I never spoke to my Bellagio host because I am double booking Cosmo and Bellagio.

I wonder what ambassador elite, conv VIP, etc. means?

So if I’m not MGM gold, but I have an MGM mastercard I can get in the priority line?
