But those are all marginal. Nice touches, but it doesn't bring you any closer to being a true 5 star hotel.

I received a new offer last night, ARRIVE IN STYLE, Valid Feb 15, 2024 - Mar 13, 2024. Exact same room, food, and freeplay offers as last time. So it looks like business as usual with the postponed MGM integration.

They continue to give me crap offers. 4 nights is nice but only $25 FP no RC. I get $200-350 of both at MGM...with more play at Cosmo! They've really just have kept my same offer in place the past couple of years without changing it.

The tubs and balconies are too good to pass up...the beds are so uncomfortable but I just deal with it. Might try to switch loyalty to Wynn tbh.

My last one is 1.4-1.31, and received a new one the other day (Escape the Everyday) for 2.1-2.28, same 4 nts, same FP/RC.

A real 5 star hotel, like the St. Regis in NY or the Waldorf in Beverly Hills, is more akin to some of the hotel within a hotels like the Wynn Tower Suites. A lot of it is cost - the places we're thinking of cost a grand a night.

For the average Joe, the Venetian may be the nicest hotel they've ever stayed in. To them, it's five stars. They'd never dream of paying for something like the Banyan Tree in Mayakoba, but they can stay at the Wynn for a few hundred a night as a splurge

Yeah, you do notice the difference in treatment if you ever stay at a Ritz, Four Seasons, etc. Vegas feels more like a cattle call at check-in, even at a higher end joint. I think this is part of what is wrong with Crockfords...RW should have differentiated that check in. Have bellmen ready to run your bags up who greet you at a non-confusing check in where all 230 rooms have the same check in area. There are customers willing to pay for this

To me, the finest city hotel anywhere is Claridge's in London. The level of service is exceptional - far beyond anything I've had in Vegas, but you're looking at 2k per night for a 400 SQFT room. The average Joe would rather pay far less, for a far bigger room, than have that level of service.

I’ll admit that especially for Crockfords’ price point, I was intrigued by the offering. A TS offering at a more accessible price point? Tell me more. However, when you read further into what Crockfords offers, it feels underwhelming. Swing and a miss for RW.

crockfords is generally underwhelming, in particular if you have a normal room that checks in at a desk in the Conrad lobby.

Crockfords used to be my go-to in Vegas. The check-in used to be in the Crockfords lobby. Valet used to be included in room rate. The staff was amazing and friendly, (including an incredibly outgoing bell staff.) Of course, that.. and many other things changed due to cost cutting.

Now it's a Best Western with Nespresso.

It's a shame. At its pinnacle, I'd preferred it to the Waldorf.. which.. I suppose due to THAT property's post-Oriental decline, this eventuality shouldn't come as a surprise.

At least now they've got the Crock part right.

I actually prefer the Crockfords check in for the fact it is only available for the suites and has a private entrance, bellman greeting you by name as you pull up and step out of the RR, SUV or whatever ride they had pick you up at the airport and take your bags. I suggested last trip they should offer a drink from the bar in there instead of the tea ritual but I haven't been back since to see if that has changed. That said a few of the front desk staff needs a bit of a polish.

    Hi

Why are Cosmo players fed up? I am a Vegas Junkie and travel their about 3x a year--I gamble elsewhere in the US everywhere from Chicago, PA, FL, NY, Reno...you name it! I have stayed at Cosmo 2 or 3X, I always enjoyed the rooms. I was staying at Aria this past October, but I always make it a point to visit Cosmo 2x a trip. This past time I was at a BJ table ($50 table), by myself about 7 in the morning and ordered a Manhattan Cocktail....Perfect drink as if I ordered it from the Bar, even the Dealer remarked that looked like a special drink. Cosmo has young vibes, small navigable casino---yes many meatheads trying to impress the ladies...most of which could barely play penny slots (not their is anything's wrong with that ! Nice Bar, but always seems crowded since it is a smaller casino. BTW, "The Henry" restaurant is a favorite of mine for Breakfast...I always make sure I go their at least 1x...Try the " Et tu Brute"....great Morning cocktail.

Because the place isn't as generous and well-kept as it was before MGM bought the operations.

100% agree with this. Plus, for me anyway, the restaurants have for the most part gone downhill as well.

Howdy MRJASPER1010, and thanks so much for the update on your recent Cosmo venture. It looks like we share common Vegas travel frequencies, and the desire to avoid the manic crowds – isn’t having a 7am cocktail at your own private table what Vegas is all about?

That being said, you may have a more difficult time getting that bar-quality Manhattan Cocktail today, given Cosmo's change to robot-dispensed drinks in late November. Over Thanksgiving I had very decent Tequila Sunrises and White Russians on the floor, whereas the Cosmos and Chocolate Martinis were simply embarrassing, forcing me to the relative safety of Stellas and Modelos (I know, first world problems). I suggest setting future expectations accordingly to avoid disappointment.

When I last posted about this topic a few months ago, my biggest Cosmo concern was the nightmare scenario of being demoted from Identity Platinum to MGM Pearl on February 1st, including both the psychological and practical impacts. I really didn’t know where my next stay would be. Would MGM still provide decent offers, or would Cosmo be replaced with Excalibur? Would FB do the seemingly obvious thing and attempt to lure thousands of Identify members with tier/offer matching? With the delayed MGM integration, I don’t have to worry about this quite yet, and am booked for Cosmo next month, complete with fountain view, airport transportation, late checkout, buffet priority line, etc. as I have grown accustomed to. But I know this is just a temporary reprieve. And in the meantime, the very significant Cosmo service issues so eloquently noted by JulianC, ReTriggerMe, and several other esteemed members continue to be of concern. However, as of today, they’re still getting my business.

Recently completed my stay, just throwing out observations.
    • Check-in went well. However, the first day that area of the property smelled like a sewer backup. That did go away, never encountered that before/since. Stuff happens I suppose, just odd.
    • Got put in the Boulevard tower after opting for an upgrade. Spent 10+ minutes waiting on a car on multiple occasions there.
    • No Do Not Disturb sign in the room. So got my room cleaned the first day, didn't really want it. But a note/tip and housekeeping addressed.
    • Some minor issues with maintenance, not worth the hassle. Broken light switch in the bathroom, half the shower door seal missing, couldn't get patio door open all the way, the heat/AC wouldn't turn on after disabling (both from tablet and thermostat direct).
    • Trash in the hall to my room for more than a day.
    • Checkout on the TV didn't work. Managed to get it via Rose.
    • Bloody Mary's on the floor seemed to lack...vodka and tomato juice. Tasted like watered down lime/lemon juice with just a splash of aforementioned ingredients. Sportsbook was spot on and great service as always though.
    • The slot section nearest the Sportsbook was, changed. Was unable to find the theme slots like Lampoons Vacation anywhere. Maybe in progress, that area looked incomplete.
    • Wicked Spoon seems largely unchanged, pretty consistent.
    • Much better job on the floor and bathrooms of cleaning and picking things up compared to Fall trip.

Long time Cosmo customer, basically from the first year they opened. Had an incredible host in Pete Cesta years ago but he retired and new host lacks the personal service Pete had. He was an old school Vegas guy who worked himself up the ranks from dealer at Caesars in the 70’s. In the early days they needed gamblers more it seemed and went out of the way to take care of them with offers and comps. But this did lead to exploitation by advantage players, mostly on VP but also with loss rebates and other promotions. Over time the opportunities dropped but they still were above most Vegas casinos in return for play per dollar. And they had licensed slots few other casinos would bring in. Anyone remember The Brady Bunch, Animal House, True Blood, Christmas Story, the 2nd Titanic, Felix the Cat, Hangover Totally Awesome, Sherlock Holmes, Back to the Future, 4 screen I dream of Jeanie, Peter Pan and so many more?

I watched service and offers decrease in the past few years as the casino got busier. I can’t say I blame them when the casino is packed but other things dropped in quality as well. It’s just not the same to me and I visit less, but it’s still hard to beat sitting on the balcony in the morning. But since I won’t stand in line for an hour for an Eggslut, it’s now with an Egg McMuffin from McDonald’s across the street.

Everything changes and maybe I’m just getting older but damn, I miss the Cosmo of the early to mid 2010’s.

They took the Monsters, Vacation, Austin Powers, Godfather and Lord of the Rings from that area, and the casino overall, and replaced them with new “generic” slots. Seems to be their new game plan, less licensed games and more slots they don’t have to pay licensing fees on.

That area next to the Sportsbook is now blocked off for construction as they are going to make it a community electronic table game area. The VP machines are still there, but everything from that point over (toward the Identity desk, is curtained off in that back corner.

My wife has two comp nights to use before mid-March. She called this past Tuesday and asked about various dates to use one night at a time. She booked one and for the other finally asked about Feb 8, the Thursday before the Super Bowl. We were amazed that she was able to book that for one night on the comp.
