Off To Vegas via Reno..."Welcome to Summer" Trip @ Aria 5/28-6/2

Maybe I spoke too soon on the drinks...back to plastic this morning.

Cashed in the chips, bought back my markers, and took one out for $500 at a craps table. Total bust, but I was going for it.

Kind of a crappy morning. My mom, who has vascular dementia and has been in her own world for a few years, had a stroke. I think we are near the end... Now I am letting the kids know. I am praying for a comfortable passing...she is a shell of herself and it is so hard to see.

 

So sorry about your mother. My mom had the exact same situation and died from a stroke a few years ago. Prayers for her and your family.

You have my best wishes for your mom. My dad has vascular dementia and Alzheimer’s. He’s doing ok. They can treat the Alzheimer’s but not the vascular dementia. I’ll be thinking of you in the days/weeks to come.

 

Last night we gambled for about four hours with a small loss. It was my wife’s worst night...only one win of note for just under $200. Craps was better—I broke even—but it was not as good as the first three nights.

Met our SIL’s brother briefly. He was just arriving and said hello at the craps table.

Looking for food after ten was a bust. No dinner for us. I snacked on some leftover filet.

Packed up and closed out my front money. Got the check back and we have a gambling profit of about $1,000. That will help cover some of the trip costs for the meals and pool time things. Nothing from the host on duty (I expected that based on the room comps we had) but so did have him take our express credits (about $100).

Limo was on time and here we are at the airport headed back home!

Vegas is back but staffing is lagging as some found other jobs or are slow to return for other reasons. This means that it is not the same experience. The people working hard are great... We will see how the experience improves over time.

We only left the Aria one time this trip. That was for our trip to the Foundation Room.

We had a great time!! Now it is time to relax and read your trip reports as we anticipate our next trip!

Sorry for your loss @ronc. It's been 4 years since my mother passed. I have so many fond memories of a wonderful woman and life.
