I've heard quite a bit about long delays in getting rideshare these days. I am curious in particular about how bad it might be from McCarran for an upcoming Friday late morning arrival. I'd love to hear what people have experienced in recent days. Perhaps a thread on this would be good -- my apologies if one already exists and I didn't see it.

I just got back home from there yesterday. I arrived Thursday night at 10 pm. I used Lyft as soon as we landed and requested it before I got off the plane. It said the driver would be there in ten minutes. He was on time. I left at 6 am yesterday morning. I requested a driver at 4 am and he was there in 20 minutes. I was pleased with both of them. I did not leave the strip on this trip so I didn’t use them anymore. Hope your trip goes well.

We were in LV 10 days ago and the Uber waits were longer than usual to go to/from downtown from the strip. It used to be less than 5 minutes but it was 10-15 this trip. Not hateful. I always cab it to/from the airport, just seems easier but more expensive. More people than usual seemed to be waiting in the rideshare area outside Bally's

I used Uber during my stay in Vegas last April...

From airport to hotel, Aria to The D, D to Venetian, Venetian to airport..

All the trips and drivers were pleasantly.. They all got $5.00 cash each..

the longest wait time maybe 10’ at the D...because driver a little bit far from location but

no problem...will use again for up coming trip..

I requested an Uber last Friday (6:50am), from Ballys to LAS....the system found a driver, with est. wait time of 20 min.....somewhere along the way, that driver cancelled, but another driver picked up my request....the total wait time was about 30 minutes before the driver arrived....

I was in Vegas 4/16 - 21 and here is what happened to me (the good and the bad) with rideshare services.

    - Landed in LAS airport on 4/16 (a Friday) around 9:30am and tried without success to get either an Uber or a Lyft. Tried both services, two times each. No cars available. Ended up taking the city bus instead.

    - The next day, 4/17 (a Saturday) around 10am I was at the Golden Nugget and decided to go a few miles west to Arizona Charlie's Decatur. It took about 15 minutes to get an Uber. He came from Circus Circus (was finishing up a ride there).

    - Also that day, I Ubered back to downtown from Arizona Charlie's Decatur. It took maybe 12-15 minutes then for the car to show up.

    - Sunday 4/18 - I was at the Virgin Hotel/Mohegan Sun Casino (former Hard Rock) and wanted to go to South Point. Again, 12-15 minutes for the Uber..

    - Lastly, Monday 4/19, a short ride from Jerry's Nugget back to downtown. Another 12-15 minute wait for the Uber.

I'm not mad about the 12-15 minute waits, just pointing it out. It was an acceptable delay for me, but others may have a different opinion.

All Uber drivers I was involved with did a good job, were competent and pleasant. No bad experiences. I'm not faulting them. I just think there are fewer on the road today than there were 14 months ago.

I read somewhere that many are still collecting unemployment because they can make as much (or maybe more) by doing so and not driving. Not being political here, just pointing it out.

Hope this helps someone. Especially at the airport, think about having a backup plan.

This won’t be popular but I wouldn’t mind a 12-15 minute wait every time.as long as it was consistent. It’s only 15 minutes. I can plan ahead that far. I really got used to it being valet fast. 5-7 minutes. If I’m running late that’s not the drivers fault.
I just don’t want to anticipate 15 and receive 4 thus be tardy...

Was definitely slower last month, give yourself extra time and consider cabs as an option.

There are lots of reasons why there are demand / supply problems and wouldn't get into that here or expect:lock:

I think hearing current wait times or app issues is helpful.

I have asked several times that we not repeat this as it has been repeatedly debunked.

Here is a collection of articles and information I pulled together about the current labor shortage.

These threads are fine if you are reporting your own experience with ride share, but please don't spread misinformation. It is a very complex issue and probably not appropriate for here as it seems to always turn political.

    Uber data points:
Last Wednesday 12:30PM at McCarran : 11 minute wait. $20 for Uber vs $26 Lyft
Last Saturday 11:45AM at The D: 8 minute wait. Had a $10 Uber credit so didn't check Lyft price.

Was in Vegas the last weekend in April. 10 mins for an UberXL at the Airport to get to Aria at 4pm on a Friday, $20. Saturday afternoon took Uber from Aria to Wynn and waited about 5 mins. Sunday morning around 9:30 took an UberXL from Aria back to the airport, 10 min wait. Never had an issue with drivers cancelling or taking longer than anticipated.

Additionally, there were a few times we just didn't feel like waiting, and noted that taxis were always plentiful at the designated taxi stands at the resorts. Also, there were plenty of cabs and no line at the airport when we arrived on Friday afternoon, in the event that the ride sharing services would have been unavailable.

Sounds like it's getting better but still not back to normal.

Thanks for all of the answers -- exactly what I was looking for. It doesn't sound that bad, and hopefully conditions have improved in the last month. I'm actually not sure if I am going to need the ride-share.

I'm ok waiting for 15 minutes, but especially waiting to get out of the airport, beyond that is unappealing. I was pondering the idea of getting a beer in the Layover Lounge, as I have when waiting for friends to pick me up, and monitoring the movement of my ride on my phone. Last time, the bartender even gave me a roadie!

I am here now, and it is crazy busy ! You are looking at 10-15 minute waits, it’s not bad. I will say that the driving from drivers has been rough it seems they are rushing to get from one location to another, they had me praying I would make it to my location in one piece...lol
