The mLife website is kluged up most of the time. Just call the hotel reservation line, VIP services, or your host to make the reservation.

I just called the mlife line and the agent confirmed the platinum discount has been removed permanently by mgm. It seems to be replaced by a blanket 10% mlife discount for all members. This is a huge devaluation for me. I often book suites and save substantial amounts with the (now discontinued) platinum discount. It's amazing the continued cutbacks by MGM. It's just one after another.

Seriously?! Well then, that confirms it... after this upcoming weekend’s stay at Aria, I’m DONE with MLife. Stuff like this makes me want to low play them... and now I probably will. Congrats MLife! You just lost another customer to your competition.

Ugh, it's like they want me to stay away. I was a diehard MGM guy for years, but my loyalty has been up for grabs recently and I've been trying other properties. This does not make me want to return 'home' in the slightest.

I was about to book a room a day before it was gone and now the price is almost 200 a night more.

You get 15% off if you book at the hotel website but still not the 30% for platinum. This is BS

    It certainly is!

They clearly don't want our business. Even if they suddenly dropped resort fees in lieu of the platinum discount, this leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. I've said it before... MLife Platinum is worthless. And this makes it even more-so.

Honestly, just stay at a non-MLife resort and let your dollar do the talking.

Between Mlife penny pinching further and Caesars with new ownership, it’s a race to see who can give more customers to Wynn and Cosmo.

Mine is gone as well. I just read a post from another forum that MLIFE tier discounts were in fact removed. Regardless of tier, everyone gets a base discount of 10% only now.

For all the people that are upset about the discount being removed, do the other programs (Idenity, CR, Grazie, etc) offer tier discounts? Did you solely give business to MLIFE cause of their tier discount? And now you're leaving just cause they don't offer a tier discount?

I use the platinum discount to book my July summer trip for aria sky suites way in advance when rates are the lowest.

As much as I am disappointed in this change, it really only affects a small number of those that stay at an Mlife property. It affects those that would book rooms for other people in their group (which I have done) to get the tier discount and the credits under my account. And those that didn't get that status mainly from play. If you have some play, you would be booking a gaming offer and not using the status discount anyways.

Some of the other programs do give you perks based on tier, but they are harder to get from spend compared to Mlife. Except for CET giving diamond just for having a Founder's card.

Ok I'll concede on that as I have done that in the past also, but before and i still think is the case, a comparable suite at a non-Mlife property was much more $$$.

@easy_money Point taken; most of the people on this forum probably aren't really that affected by this change. But symbolically, it's a big "fuck you" to a pool of customers that includes their most loyal, and continues the trend toward declining value both in Vegas generally, and MGM properties specifically. I'm not surprised people are upset about it even though we probably all plan our trips around comp offers.

I agree. I wasn't simply asking rhetorical questions. I was honestly just curious if the tier discount was really the reason some people were loyal to MLIFE. I too have used the tier discount before, but not for myself, but for others traveling with me for a 2nd and 3rd room. It was a nice perk to have. Unfortunately, good things always come to an end. MLIFE offered tier discount for years, at least 10+ years AFAIK and can remember. I don't recall other programs doing the same. And as you stated, most planned around COMP offers. But I don't see a major reason to get upset at a company discontinuing discounts. Even without the discounts, MLIFE properties are still at competitive rates compared to the other strip properties. My .02.

I don’t get free suites at aria just the basic room once in a while a tower suite but I usually get a low rate at sky suites pay in advance and at the end of the trip they usually knock off a night and all my food.

Yeah I logged in today and there's no mention of Tier Discounts anywhere anymore. Pretty sneaky, just *poof* it's gone.

So that hurts people who can't get comped, but it also hurts if you CAN get comped but wanted to book additional rooms at the Tier Discount - you can't.

On the bright side, what I did find is that if you do have a comp offer, and want to stay extra nights, you can get up to a 70% discount on those nights (but have to pay the resort fee for them).

I just did a mock booking for next July using the 15% discount. Here is the nice surprise that goes with it:

    "Advance Purchase
*All reservations are based on availability and may be subject to blackout days. Advance Purchase/Non-Refundable rates reservations cannot be modified, are fully prepaid, and non-refundable. If cancellation of or change to reservation takes place, guest will forfeit total room charge plus applicable tax. Reservation must be made at least 60 days in advance of arrival. "

The 30% discount was a solid perk for the Platinum level. It enabled us to get a relatively affordable Sky Suite room with flexibility to change the date. Now they want all the money up for 50% less of a discount. I will ask a host or someone to help with a future booking and see what happens. Perhaps there is a casino rate I can get.

I hear all the "well things change" replies and I get them...they do change. That sure as heck doesn't mean that we have to like it--it is a value their program had that it no longer exists.

We'll see what happens when I am ready to book "for real"...
