We were not intending to head back to Vegas until March Madness...

But I just stumbled upon Spirit from KC to Vegas for $88RT each. We have 6AM direct flight Sat. Oct. 15, and direct red eye Monday night. (son has football game Tuesday night so needed to be back) Not crazy about a red eye but can't beat the price!

We got Sat night at Rio for $63 total & Sun/Mon nights comped.

So 3 full days for $239 for 2??!!

    WOO HOO!!!

(OK...I do need a room in KC Friday night...sheesh, that's the most expensive thing at $100!)

We have flown Allegiant numerous times--I figure Spirit will be similar.

Pulled out coupons & such from last month...still have $87 gift card for Mon Ami Gabi or Joe's; $80 in gift cards to anywhere in Miracle Mile Shoppes; 2 tickets to Jeff Civillico.

We still have AMerican Casino Guides & Las Vegas Advisor coupon books that barely got used so we could stretch some gambling dollars...drinking dollars (Ellis Island)...Show (Marc Savard $5)

I am Diamond at CET so we can eat/drink free from 12-9 Sat/Sun & 5-9 Monday at Rio/Caesars/PH/Paris/Harrahs (Flamingo is BAD) plus 2 free show tickets.

We may take greater advantage at the diamond lounges this time if they are now using the ticket system at CET VP bars (BOO!)--seriously, that defeats the purpose of playing crappier paytables!

So really just need some gambling $!

Try Harrahs North Kc for your Friday stay, might be comped! Not too far from the airport. Sounds like a great inexpensive getaway,,,but then there is the gambling $...

HA--that's where I booked. But they are so stingy with weekends...$100 is about as good a rate as we could get, even nearer to the airport (there were a couple around $60 but they didn't look very nice...)
    Yeah, there's always gambling...:wiggle:

Springing for the "big front seats?"
The biggest gamble is taking Spirit airlines! (Found that one out the hard way this summer!)
If you're backpacking it/travelling light--and there are no weather delays from wherever your plane is coming from--then the gamble may be a good one!
    Have a great trip!

So you basically get free food and drink anywhere in the casinos? Does that include food courts or just casino restaurants and bars?

And, why do you say Flamingo is bad? :)

I have a super efficient carry on that meets their current personal item measurements (it is going down in April) & DH has a backpack. My mom packed for 5 days in Vegas in just a backpack this summer. I think we can handle 3 days/2 nights!

And goodness knows I have had severe weather delays on ALL airlines...

johnny--no. Most CET properties have a diamond lounge for diamond/seven stars players. It is open M-F4-9 & SS 12-9. In that lounge we can get free drinks & snacks. In the early evenings they put out hot food as well. Flamingo's diamond lounge is a dog. Dim, small, you get your own non-alcoholic drinks, mystery meat food the one time we went & poor service as well. All the other ones have better ambiance or food or service.
