My last 2 trips were in 2014( jan and october) i was always able to get 5-7 nights comps at the lower level cet places (rio, flamingo, harrahs, linq) and 3-5 nights at places like paris Ph Ballys.... Last time i looked at my total rewards accounts this spring i had most of nov/dec comp everywhere for 5-7 nights including ceasars palace. Just checked my account today and i have to pay close to retail everywhere even at places like the flamingo/rio in mid december, i figured its because its been to long between trips, i do get small stuff like 30$ free play and the likes. What's the best way to start over, cause when i look at airfare/hotel packages at places like expedia in Canadian currency its a lot and i mean a lot more cheaper than booking the hotel from directly from CET. Thing is if i take Expedia the only back end comp i can get are the resort fees/meals that i will charge to room If i book from CET i will get the room comp on the back end but will have to play a lot more to achieve it. What's the best way to start over ?
not sure but if you see a bunch of comps just book them for a few weeks you may be out there. you can always cancel if you don't make it but your offers may get worse in the meantime.
I guess it depends on your level of play. If you always earned full comps before, and plan on playing at the same level, it might make sense to book through CET and get it comped off on the back-end of your trip. You're right that booking through Expedia or other booking site may be cheaper, but there is no chance to get your room covered at the end that way. It's been 2 years since I put in any play in with CET and I didn't have much as far as offers go. There were some discounted rooms at Flamingo, but not that discounted. I'm hoping that will change after my next trip.
I would call the reservations line for whatever hotel you want to stay at and tell them exactly what you wrote in the first 3 paragraphs. It's worth a shot to see if you can get the room comp upfront. I agree with Sonya, if you had room comps showing up until this spring, Plan B would be to book a paid stay through CET directly. Your prior play was enough to expect something back end if you maintain the same play level.
I had this problem. It was like everything was reset almost. Always had 5 nights comped at most hotels with CET and all the sudden everything was gone a few months ago. Now starting to see plenty of offers for 3-5 night stays, but if I go to calendar it seems like nothing available. Where before I would just go to calendar pick my days and it was always comped. They said they are having some issues with the system. Not sure why they offers just disappear if you are always about the same level of player.
It cant just be do to inactivity can it? Dont most casino up their offers if you stay away long enough? I was under the impression that once you are rated in the Total rewards system, thats your rating going forward unless you do something to hurt that level of play. I used to be Diamond with them. In late 2014, before they went bankrupt, I booked a trip for January 2015. I used to get $400 in free play plus the rooms. They later cut their free play in half for almost every player (not just me) and it was like pulling teeth to get them to honor my booking. But they did. And I have never stayed/played at a CET casino in Vegas since. I think i dropped by in AC once in early 2015. So thats 18 months of inactivity for me, i just checked in my account and none of my offers have dropped, even though I am now a ghost to them. My free play actually went up about 10%.
