Coming to Vegas for 4 days with wife, her first trip. She loves penny slots, always plays max bet and prefers progressives. At home casino max bet is typically $1.50 to $2.50. Are there lots of those in strip casinos or is max bet usually more? Which casino's have the greatest choice or are they all pretty similar?

I've seen the max bet on penny slots in Vegas go from $1.20 all the way up to $4.50 or more. It can vary from casino to casino as some of my favorite penny slots can be $1.50 at a MGM property while being $3 at a Caesars property for the same machines. Granted, the max prizes you can win are more with the higher max bet machines, but I like my money to last a little while longer.

Titan 360 (multi-player progressive) at the LINQ and Orleans max bet is 5 bucks. At my locals in California, max bet is also 5 bucks on this machine. The mystical temple progressives and pirate loot progressives max bets in Vegas are less than at the local casinos, that I know for sure. Dragon's Victory, Dragon Spin, and some other progressives I am not sure. I think Genie Power is the same max bet, 2.40 or 2.60 (one of those..dont remember exactly what the max bet is on it).

Walking Dead probably has the same max bet as the locals and Buffalo Stampede and Can Can? I am not completely sure, anyone know?

Should be called 'Once Upon A Time Penny Slots'.
Seriously, the good thing about penny slots, you can play minimum, maximum or something in between based on your own comfort level. If you look at some of the pics in Trip Reports here you will see some mighty fine wins at less than max and some mediocre wins at max credits. Lots of progressive wins too.

I don't think your wife will have any problem finding slots to her liking as there is a good variety of penny slots at all of the strip casinos - max can range from about $1.50 to the highest I've seen was $5.00 max but have heard some are even higher. A lot of minimums now are around 50 cents, but there are still quite a few out there from about 20 cents upward and maybe even less than that although those are harder to find these days.

Plenty of penny progressives at all the casinos - give them a good look over minimum/maximum, bonuses, etc and just have fun with it - y'all will find your favorites in no time!
    Good luck!

Anywhere from $2-$8.88? That should fit most penny slots

Right, zNaturaL, I forgot about the $8.88 slot - too rich for me for a penny machine, but I remember a lady at Palazzo hit the jackpot playing $8.88.

Yeah, I think $8.88 is the highest now for max. Wow. But that game's min bet is 38c I think.

Penny quick hits are $1.50 max usually, but most "penny"machines max out at least at $2 or $2.50. If I ever max bet a penny slot, I don't remember which one. Too much for me!

If she doesn't like the max bet amount on penny slots, then she should try 5c and 25c machines. There are lots of them in Vegas, at Mirage, Bellagio, Aria etc.

$8.88 is crazy for a penny slot lol. I'm sure they'll be up to $10-$15 soon.

And OP, there are plenty of penny slots that you don't have to bet max to win progressives, except maybe the top progressive on some machines. Obviously the higher your bet, the better chance at a progressive though.

You can win the three mini-progressives on the Big Bang machine with the minimum bet. We know - we've done it. I'm pretty sure you have to be betting $6 to win the uber-big progressive, which last time we checked was at $800K or thereabouts.

Actually you only have to be betting all 4 screens for $2. Betting $4 or $6 just doubles/triples your chance of winning the jackpot.

The rule screen in question is at the 0:21 mark.

And yeah the other progressives can be won with any bet. Because there are 3 choices when you trigger the progressive, two credit prizes and the progressive prize. Min bet picks 1 prize, medium bet picks 2 prizes, and max bet picks all 3 prizes, which also guarantees the progressive.

The $1.50-$3.00 range is pretty standard. As others have mentioned, there's some with multiple screens, higher progressives, etc. I encountered one this last trip that was like $8 for a max bet--CRAZY for a "penny" slot. When in doubt, I just go back to my loyal Buffalo machines :)

Impressive Tring! I know you are a VP guru extraordinaire but SLOTS too??
I feel like such a slacker compared to you guys - guess there's more to slots after all than just pushing those buttons!

And the high limit version let me bet $3.80 a spin. A way to enjoy the hl room on a "budget". Haha

I mostly play VP but on our trip this past March I decided if I played any slots it would be at max bet. I ended up playing more slots than normal and it smacked me pretty good. I will be rethinking that idea on my next trip.

If you are looking for maximum bet amounts in the $1.50 to $2.50 range, check out Monte Carlo. I was just complaining in my trip report that many of their machines have very low max bets.

I have seen some $10 penny slots at Bellagio.

On the other hand, I remember being at V/P and so many machines maxed out under $3. And no option to up the denomination. Seems they should allow you to play more if you want.

"Midnight Diamonds" is new, and maxes at $1.50. Jackpots big enough to feel (1k+), but not so high to make them unattainable. I won one on my last trip!

Also, LOVE QuickHits "Free Game Fever" when it's $1.50 max. But, be careful....this is a go-to game for me, but each casino seems to set them differently. At Aria, I did well on them. At Monte Carlo, EVERY QHF game would run a long time between bonuses, and that's for anyone I saw playing.

SO, yes, plenty of $1.50 max games. That's the brunt of what I play, you just have to find them in each casino. (But, if you want HIGHER max, disregard my post :D :D :D)

    Have a blast!
