When I first learned about the Lion's Share slot machine I made it a tradition to always give it a run every time I visited Vegas.

When someone hit the Lion's Share jackpot, and the machine was no more, I changed my tradition to a single spin on a $100 denomination slot.

Well, I hit $4,000 on my $100 slot spin this last trip and I don't think I will ever be able to top it. Not so much the amount, but mostly the situation of how it happened and the excitement (see trip report for details).

So now I need a new tradition!!

I want something that is a long shot bet that would be exciting and a great story if it did actually hit, not something like a single hand of blackjack or anything like that.

I was thinking $100 on roulette straight up on 0 (I think I would be able to find a single 0 table with a $100 min?) or maybe $100 on snake eyes in craps.

Anyone have any other ideas?? Be creative! Maybe your idea will spark something for someone else!

A multi team parlay card might be a good idea.

Start someplace with a minimum bet like $5 or $10.

play one hand say of blackjack and if you win, move on to a different game. play the winnings there, again, one hand or turn.

keep doing that and see how far you can go with it.

Are you only interested in doing a one off bet?

You could always try a betting progression, like buying in and letting it ride for 5 hands/spins/rolls. Might be fun to see it grow and hopefully hit a huge payout!

anytime I go with friends we throw $25 into a pot and bet red, red, black, red (if we make it that far) We've only made it to the third bet before we lost so maybe not a winner but always a fun ride.

I don't really know much about sports betting, would I just take all of the favorites on the money line? or maybe I take all underdogs to make it exciting!!!

I really don't want the tradition to require much discipline... what if I win 4, then I have to decided if I risk the $1500 win and go for it, or take the win. If I take the win then I am cheating the tradition, if I go for it and lose, then I lost $1500...not the $100 I was allocating to the tradition.

Unless there is a game where you HAVE to pre-decide how many round you will play if you win??

    I completely understand! That's why I don't do it myself ;)

I like the idea of a parlay. If you spaced out the bets you could have some action for a nice chunk of your trip.

Slots are good for the discipline. You could drop down to a lower denomination, say $25, and do 4 spins. Not too exciting though.

You could also consider playing a carny game with a huge bet on the bonus. I don't play them often, but say 3 card poker with a huge bet on the bonus.

I'll keep thinking about it and work and see if I can think of anything. Right now, I think a parlay may be your best bet.

Every trip for years the first wager I make is $25 straight up on 23 at roulette. It's actually hit a few times over the past 20 years. Nice way to start off a trip when it hits.

I also like the parlay idea. I'll have to give that a go when I visit in July.

How about $25.00 on all the hard ways in craps. If all hit you have $800.00

I am thinking of taking a few hundred and dedicate it to the HL slot room or a Progressive Machine.
Basically something that is more than a single spin.

The Craps hardway would be good because it more than likely won't be a single roll bet.
It could last a few rolls building up suspension.

Maybe factor in a single Parlay which get the entire table involved and probably cheering you on for the win.

$100 Make em All in craps, and time your entry so that you are the shooter. Feels like it is in your control, to win it requires a nice run, and once the bet is down and you take the dice you are committed. Plus others at the table will likely come aboard and if you hit you'll be the most popular guy around. Downside is that at 190-1 you might go a life of trips without hitting with your $100 aboard. If that's a concern, though, you could spread it to all, small and tall.

I like the parlay card idea (If into sports,NFL NCAAFB) I see your timer means you will be there when games are going on all weekend and Monday..
Keeping it to a 5 team or 6 team keeps it as longshot but doable. And if you select a single game once the others have been decided, you still have an opportunity to hegde the bet a bit for the sure cash.
Like this over the quick spin one and done Roulette but love the 0 as the number..
