Coin in

I've searched for this a little bit, but it's a difficult item to search
forgive me if it's been addressed.

I'm a table games player, but usually play a little VP while watching NFL games. I never pay attention to comps during these sessions as I don't consider them gambling like I should.
this trip I think I'm going to pay closer attention.
so. my question - what is the best way to keep track of coin in? does the session counter help w/ that?

 

Easiest way is to keep track of the # of points earned in a session. Each property will award a point for a certain amount of play which will vary from property to property and is usually a different rate for VP than for slots. Once you know the # of points and how much it takes to earn those points, you just need to multiply the # of points by the required play per point. So if you put a 100 points on your card, and it takes $10 to earn a point, you did 1000 in coin in. Some casinos will also show info on the card screen that says "points earned" and "countdown to next point" when you first put your card in the countdown to next point will tell you how much it takes to earn a point.

 

Yes. But the number of points earned doesn't always equate to coin-in. At many casinos, it doesn't.

CET/MLife/The D 1 point = $10 coin-in
Vegas Boyd properties 1 point = $1 coin-in
Cosmo 1 point = $6 coin-in

You just have to know what amount of coin-in is needed for a point. The site VPFree2 often lists this under the "Player's Club" tag for individual casinos.

lovedowntown...at Boyd on VP at the bartops, $1 in equals 1 point. There are some full pay floor machines that require $3 in for 1 point.

 

CET and MGM will show your points right on the machine.

In short order you will figure out what they are doing. Often $10 play equals 1 point.
