I am only platinum with TR, and my father is as well. We are going to LV in March (yes, unfortunately price-wise, the same week as the start of the NCAA basketball tourney). Right now I don't have any actual offers, but if I go to the website, it will let me get into Bally's for a comp on Tuesday, Wednesday, and SUnday nights. Thursday, Friday and Saturday are all at a discounted rate, but it is still more than I want to pay.

My question: If I call them directly and link my fathers card to mine for the week, what am I likely to get for a rate discount? Will they come down further on the weekend, or am I pretty much stuck with what I see now? I am not sure at all how this works, and I would like some direction before I call them and make a fool of myself.

    Thanks

When you are on Caesars website...(at least on the calendar rate page) there will be a box in the upper right hand corner to enter a companion's TR number.

That is correct. Book now and then call them up about 2 weeks before your trip and see if they can do better. Sometimes I've had them knock of a couple hundred and sometimes they say they can't do anything for me.

My wife is Platinum and I'm a lowly Gold. Adding my number as a companion TR number lowered our rates from $800 to $500 for the week at Bally's.

As you have found out, using the rate calendar is better than working on offers.

And, as mentioned, enter you Dads number of your companion for this booking to get a better rate - maybe.

In any event, the rates for then will be high on weekend.

Adding your dad's number should help. I had a buddy sign up online for a card (zero play history) and with him combined, rates indeed dropped further.

You need the zip code where your Dad lives along with his TR number. You both need to check in at the same time. I book right away when I know I am going. If things change better offers etc you can always call and alter your reservation. Usually if you wait the prices get higher or the comps go away.

I seem to do better with no offers just booking and then I can add my offer if needed.

Since they match all lower offers continually check / call as you can keep lowering the rates if you call and the current rate is lower. For MM a few years ago i was able to cut the price in half for my MIL by checking ever so often. I just booked Ballys for the 1st week of MM also. Good luck

Interesting! My wife doesn't gamble, but mayhaps I should get her a card and play on it a little and enter both numbers to see what I get! I am staying the last week in March and keep checking almost daily. I cancelled one reservation when a better deal appeared- remember that if you see a good deal, grab it as you can always cancel. I got Sun-Thurs comped and was able to get Fri 1st for $50 i/o $100 so I grabbed it. Since then I have seen that Friday go up to $150! Bottom line: Keep checking! Oh, I am NOT a big time gambler; $200 a day at most.

Remember that if you put in a companion's TR number to get a lower rate (and you will get a lower rate) that BOTH of you have to show up at check-in with ID. They will not honor the reservation if only one of you shows up.

Its not false. Make sure you look up room for 2 adults though (sometimes it gets wonky if you try to use 2 cards for 1 adult)

Here is my calendar with just MY card:
    before.jpg

And here is my calendar with a companion who signed up online with no play:

    after.jpg

Some nights the rates don't change. Some nights (up to $94 before) become comp, some get reduced.

How many adults in the room? Edit: nm, they seem to have closed that anyway.

    *shrug* Worked for me.

Somethings not right, Samstown man. Be sure that you are not requesting dates that in any way infringe on your currently booked dates at the Rio. If you do the computer will think you are booking 2 rooms for the same time and will not give you your comp rate but just casino rates. Be sure the dates you're looking at do not interfere with the dates 2 days before and 2 days after the dates you booked because CET includes them as 'no comp' dates as well. Test by trying the month after the dates you already booked. Sign into TR and hit reservations, flexible dates so that the whole month comes up. Try it with just 1 adult/your number and then try it with 2 adults/both numbers. Like Nevyn, you should see a nice improvement.
