I work new years morning, can be on a plane arriving at 5pm. How tough will it be to get to the Venetian that time of the day?

Not sure what time they start closing the streets down.

    Thanks

I believe the Strip starts closing at 6:00 PM on NYE. Last year I flew in about 7:30 PM and my limo driver had to tack through some side streets to get to the Flamingo. I do not know if you will be taking a taxi or not but make sure not to cross Las Vegas Boulevard to get to the Venetian.

If you're staying there make sure they're accepting nye arrivals. I've seen some places not take arrivals that day.

You could get dropped off at a farther out location and take the monorail in.

Seems that pretty much all hotels still have a "back" entrance. You will get in okay. See map

Yup, the venetian has a back entrance, through Koval lane and it also goes to Harrahs.
As others mentioned, you should probably check with the hotel to make sure that you are up to date on what's going on and what their policy will be for NYE.
