Town of Paradise vs. Town of Winchester?

I always knew the Strip was not in the city of Las Vegas, but rather in the Town of Paradise. Yesterday in a bar discussion, we were looking up when the Stardust closed. 11/1/06, hard to believe it's 9 years already. Anyway, it is from Wiki, so take it for it's worth, but it says the Stardust was in the Town of Winchester.

I found out there is/was a Town of Winchester, in addition to Paradise, but can't find any maps with borders shown. Can anybody help me out? Just a curiosity thing and it bugs me that I didn't know that. I always assumed you had the Town of Paradise and if you went north, you entered the City of Las Vegas, just past The STRAT .

Paradise and Winchester aren't towns, they're "urban townships" within Clark County.

Town is frequently used in the west to denote a defined, populated area within the unincorporated county, as opposed to being a charter or general law municipality. Depending on the jurisdiction, they can have municipal-like powers (not in this case -- beyond the advisory-to-the-county part).
