Ordering drinks from the slot machines at the Palazzo.

When did the Palazzo install a drink ordering system in the slot machines? I know Caesars' properties in Atlantic City have had this feature for awhile, but until last week I've never seen it in Las Vegas. Has anyone seen this feature in any other Vegas casinos? I love it!!! Unlike AC, all the drinks are free, and you can ever order a craft drink with premium liquors. Needless to say, my wife and I spent some time there.

 

Do you have to have a certain level of players card for this? I very rarely play at VP but last time I did I didn't see anywhere to order drinks.

 

I've never heard of this before. I will definitely be checking it out on my next trip in three weeks.

 

Venetian did it for awhile too, but the waitresses totally ignored the electronic system, when we tried it. I think it works better at Palazzo, but I am just going on second-hand info here, I've never gambled a dime there. I'm used to it at CET properties in Tunica. Generally speaking, it's great if you have reasonable waitress coverage. Crappy if you don't. But if you plan to play there a long time, you can adjust your drink ordering to compensate for the waitress's speed.

 

We waited no more than a few minutes to be served after placing our order. It's awesome! The Palazzo was not as chaotic/busy as the Venetian so I can see your point. We couldn't get a drink at the V so we headed over to the Palazzo....so glad we did, plus we had some nice hits.

 

I've used it on my last few trips and loved it! The Drinks2U system had also gone down for a while after they had the computer hack a while back and it took a while before they got it going again. Not all banks of slots have it.

There isn't much info on here about it, so I had already planned for my trip next week to do a detailed review on my trip report for it. I will post what's available through it, and, how long it actually takes for the drinks to get delivered. One thing to note that I already know, is that if you change machines and pull out your card, it automatically cancels the order, it will not follow you to the next machine!!

 

We stayed at Venetian in late March and played slots at both V and P.
Palazzo slot machines had the drink order option in the menu area of the machine; Venetian slots did not have the drink option.
Worked great, I ordered soda and my husband ordered wine at his machine. Service was prompt, and we tipped accordingly.
We both agreed service was much faster this way, wish all the casinos would follow suit..

 

Been using the Drinks2U system there myself since April. As mentioned, they are not on every machine.
Just a note: You don't need a players card to activate this; I don't have one for V/P and had no problem getting my drinks.
The service was very fast and they have quite a broad selection of alcohols and mixers to choose from.

 

I still think the best and the fastest is the system they use (sometimes) at the Rio and Linq (or is it the Quad?). Order taker takes it on a wireless tablet and the drinks come at warp speed!

 

Horseshoe Tinity has the slot ordering system and it works great

 

V/P started using Drinks2U back in 2013 on select machines. It did not work well at first, but is now much improved. It's nice to order a drink right when you sit down at a machine and not have to wait for a server to walk by. The beverage selection is pretty broad, and there are options to customize your drink. I think they're under the 'Shot' section, but I like to order Drambuie or Sambuca as after dinner drinks.

Service priority is supposed to be based on your Grazie card level, but I don't know how much it is. I'd think the timing would be more influenced by how busy the machines are. I never tried it, but am surprised that you can use Drinks2U without inserting a Grazie card. The service is yet another way for the casino to gather data on play/drink habits. Hopefully they use the data in aggregate, and casinos never get to a point of using it to count your drink orders against your comps.

 

Rio did this a few years back. I don't know how long it lasted, but it worked great the one time I used it.

Drinks2U is great, we were there a couple weeks ago. Its in the majority of the Palazzo, and has spread into the Venetian now as well. I've never had a problem with drink service at either, and didn't this time whether ordering through Drinks2U or directly with waitress.

You can get anything you want from beers to what they call "classic cocktails" to custom orders. They say drink service is in the order of your status, but I was Gold and when I would play bubble craps with regular Grazie players our drinks came together, not sure how (or why) waitresses would care about your level. Maybe that's the order the bartenders are supposed to mix it, but as busy as those casinos (esp. Venetian) get I just don't see it being enforced.

Overall its a great system, although it can get a bit wonky and finicky especially on some of the sticky machines.

Not sure it makes drink service "better" but it is fun to experiment with a bunch of drinks you'd never consider ordering if they weren't presented to you in menu format. (My wife discovered grasshoppers - a great desert drink!)
