If this thing still flummoxes some, go to Orbitz from the Alaska Airlines Mileage Plan site and lo-and-behold, any fee to be applied is boldly listed right below each hotel's rate. And you can link through without being a member. I don't see that function when going straight to Orbitz.

It's part of the resort fee conspiracy.

It should be illegal to list a price without listing the resort fee on the comparison page. Hotels.com has screwed with that problem in the past.

And the loss-leader car in the Sunday print adds just has to go. It's not fair, preying on poor unassuming consumers like that.

Funny is that everyone knows that there is one loss leader car at that price, and it is a stripped down model, in white, with roll up windows and no A/C, and they accept that.

You would think that the resort fee thing would also now be an accustomed part of the booking / buying process for hotel rooms. They are charging resort fees all over the country now, not just in Vegas. My room in Palm Springs a couple months back had a resort fee attached.................

I had a $3 resort fee at the place I was at in Anaheim.... it was so low it was almost insulting!
