My wife went to visit her sister yesterday, so I'm a nightly movie marathon. Last night it was all three Godfathers. I still think that #1 is one of the finest mob movies ever made! #2 is good, #3 eh. On tap tonight is Goodfellows, Casino & Vegas Vacation. And if I don't fall asleep, non mob/Vegas related...The Big Lubowski. She is back Sunday afternoon.
I still get a kick out of Fear and loathing with DEPP and DEL TORO. Love it when they take ether and stumble into the casino!
My mother (yes) and I would agree with you re: the Godfather movies (and with the same rankings) 1000000%. My mom is one of the sweetest people I know but Godfather I believe is her favorite movie. We've seen the first one easily 100+ times and she hast the DVDs of all three (Christmas present from a friend).
Yep, my wife bought me the box set of all 3 plus a 4th dvd with extra scenes, actor comments etc. There are so many famous quotes from that movie, but one of my favorite lines from #1...leave the gun, take the canoli.
Yesterday, I just happenned to surf onto the end of "Casino". * It showed "Aces" house on the cul-de-sac -- Ginger drives up + crashes into his parked car in the driveway. But I loved the golf course in the backdrop. That used to be The Desert Inn's golf course -- ? Is it Wynn's, now ? Those houses were SO sixties-ish -- great Art Production - to replicate that era of Vegas. * BTW - I really hate watching only pieces of my favorite movies -- Not sure why I stopped and watched the end ? ( of a great movie ! ).
