Last minute trip to Reno/Tahoe. Low roller VP porn

So I was at work last Friday afternoon and realized that I had a 3 day weekend and as far as I knew, my wife and I had no plans. So I texted her.

Me: "We have no plans this 3 day weekend."
Her: "Where do you wanna go?"
Me: "I don't know....Reno?"
Her: "I'll pack a bag"

So I got off work at 5:30 and we were on the road at 6 for a 5 hour drive to Reno. I figured since it was a Friday night, there would be some traffic going through Fresno and Sacramento, so I figured it would be closer to 6 hours. No traffic, made it there in just under 5 hours. Score.

Check in was easy-peasy. I reserved a King bed in the east tower, so of course we got 2 queens in the west tower. Oh well. Dropped off bags and headed down to the Casino.

I planned on playing mostly Video Poker. Starting out at nickels and hopefully escalating to quarters and dollars. Things started out nicely. First machine I played gave me this..


I played it down to $100 and cashed out. Went to a quarter machine, slipped in a 20 and hit this..

So I cashed out at $300. Notice the time on the ticket. Up 400 within the first hour of checking in. I'm liking this trip so far.


3 and a half hour later we went to bed and the $400 was gone. The closest I got to a hit was this... Oh well.


Got up Saturday morning and went across the street to El Dorado and Silver Legacy and got these..


And had a near miss on Ultimate X with 10X, that may have paid nicely.

Decided to play some slot next to my wife. After a few spins hit for $100 on a 30 cent bet. Sorry for the blurry pic.


Then back to VP. I saw a couple machines side by side that I recently played and had luck with last time in Laughlin, so I slipped in a 20 inthe first one and got this...


Took out the ticket and slipped it into the machine next to it and after 5 minutes got this...


Next morning (Sunday) we planned on heading back home but decided to have breakfast first. Went to the buffet and it was closed. On a Sunday? So, the obvious thing to do was grab a couple Starbucks and head to Tahoe!

Got to Tahoe Harrahs and took the elevator to 19th floor for the buffet. Closed for renovations? WTF
Went next door to Mont Bleu. Buffet blows. Avoiding from now on. But since we were there might as well play a bit. Right?

Put $5 in a VP machine and on 2nd pull got this...


That hit kept me going for several hours but eventually it was gone. Along the way I had some near missies like this one. Dealt trip 9's with 10X on STP.

We played about 5 hours before we realized it was 4:30 and we had to decide to either get on the road or call Harrahs and get a night. Pretty easy decision really. Hello Harrahs?

So we checked in at Harveys, asked for and got an Executive room. After splitting a huge Nachos at Hard Rock Cafe we went in the Casino..

Had a little bit of late luck on Sunday night on Ultimate X.


Overall a great trip. We may have lost a little but when you throw in the free rooms it was pretty close to even.

But a 3 day weekend with my wife is always a win.

Awesome hits! I was in Reno saturday, seemed pretty busy. Had a great time. Did not have those kind of hits, but probably should have stuck with some VP instead of getting trashed at the BJ tables. Was really nice last weekend. Hot, but nice.

 

Damn man, missed again!
We rode up to Reno on saturday night... but we got there at midnight and left at 5am...
EDIT: You're getting free weekend rooms at Harrahs Reno/Tahoe just like that?

 

Sorry, it was truly a last minute thing. Almost stopped in Modesto for an Ice Coffee at Dunkin Donuts on the way up but didn't want to press my luck with the Sactown traffic. I think by midnight on Saturday we were already crashed. By 5 AM, still in deep REM.

About free rooms...Yeah pretty much. My wife is CET Platinum, I'm Gold so I make the reservations under her name and I as an add on. For Sunday night at Harvey's though, I just gave the lady on the phone my number.

 

Haha, tell me about last minute! As it was 9pm when we left, hahahaha.
Man, wife is Diamond, but we've beat the shit outta CET so much, they HATE us now! (WAAY ahead on them, and STILL have free rooms booked from back when they loved us)
Thinking about regaining their love...but Sam's Town is probably on the relationship que for us. (as Kris HATES Reno)
