Can anyone comment on the High Roller Happy Hour? My wife and I are going in a few weeks and we bought a coupon for the evening ride that begins after 10:00. Is there a long line at this time on a Friday evening? Should we get there before 10:00? Thanks in advance!

I've been on the High Roller four times now, during the week and on weekends, and have yet to see a substantial line. The most I've seen in a pod were 14 people and they'll hold 40 each.

Was it groupon that you bought? I'm looking to do the happy hour thing too. If so, link please?

Thanks, that's good to hear. Don't want to feel claustrophobic 500' up!

Curious as to how the living social open bar deal works. Can you show up at 10pm and do the open bar for a couple hours, then hop on the wheel at midnight? Or is it just one free drink to take on your ride?

My understanding is there's an open bar in the pod as you ride around for the half hour.

It's all you can booze for the duration of your pods ride which I think is about 30 or so minutes.

Gotcha, thanks. I didn't realize they had bars in some/all of the pods.

THey don't. I believe it's a rolling cart of some sort, based on previous reviews.

Yes, there are youtube videos that show it. I have been on it twice and no bar.

It's a small, temporary bar. Our bartender was pretty fast. There were about a dozen people in our pod and I managed 4 drinks in 30 minutes, plus one for the road. He also did a few tricks to keep us amused.

Powers, how was the High Roller happy hour?
Thinking of doing this with my wife in a few weeks and was wondering how the ticket process/lines were.
Going to get one off groupon I believe.

    Thanks,

I bought the living social deal. Do I just show up to the booth with my email or do I need to go redeem something somewhere?

You need to go to either the Linq Concierge Services right next to Brooklyn Bowl, or the entrance with the big High Roller sign. I can't remember which one, but it's NOT the ticket booth at the base of the wheel. They'll give you a ticket there.
