My mom called me upset as her next Vegas trip isn't working out like she planned, her sister cannot go with her. She is telling me how much she needs a break for a few days with no worries and cares and Vegas would be the perfect location.

(my mind is racing and excitement starts running through my veins.. she can't seriously be hinting for me to go, could she? Would she even need to hint! Just ask me, hurry ask me!)

Then she starts going on about needing a trip that can recharge her battery. How a few days away will give her what she needs to get through the next few months; she is having surgery on her knee in March and my dad has been battling cancer for 4 years now. She is laying it on pretty thick, like I need that, all I keep thinking is just,

     PLEASE ASK ME TO GO!

When I hear the word Vegas and I get goose bumps and all focus is lost; here she is trying to say she needs someone to go with and my body is nearly shaking with anticipation. She's rambling on and I barely hear a word she is saying then I hear, "I want to stay at MGM, and I know you haven't before but I really want to stay there". Ok, I'm drowning in thoughts of Vegas and so I say to her,

"You sure we should stay at MGM?" :evillaugh

There, it's done, I've invited myself to go. Now my body is reeling with excitement I can hardly contain myself.

I let mom know I'll make sure we get there and have a room where she can use her corporate offer. So I get to do the planning, I'm so happy right now 2015 is starting out great! Doesn't take me long to plan, I looked up flights and booked Feb 1-5th  Mom's stipulation is fare must be under 200 return and she usually flies Allegiant, but I got us Alaska Air under her flight budget so off we go on Alaska!! My plan is to bump us up to first class if seats are available on the way down, but she doesn't need to know that :ssst:

Now the tricky part is to see if both of us can book one room on separate offers hassle free. Picking up the phone I called VIP to start booking the room, I really don't want to go through a host as my play may not be as per history; of course, who am I kidding? I begin to explain to him that we both would like to use our offers, will be booking for 4 days total and the agent hesitates and says he could only code one FB credit to the room and we would have to move rooms unless I downgraded to a deluxe room. Normally I wouldn't care and would downgrade, but this trip I will actually be working from the room for 5 hours a day so I would like some comfort, so I asked if there was a host on duty that I could speak to. After about 30 seconds the host answers, "Hello this is xxx how may I assist you?" I explain to him the situation and while he's looking up our play we chit chat a bit and he says he would be more than willing to do what I want and we set up airport pick up as well; so much for booking through VIP (of course I wouldn't have gotten airport pick up from VIP) and not going through a host; now I've acquired myself host :rolleyes2:

I can barely wait... move countdown timer move!!!

Great post. Have a blast. I've got two 2015 trips, July and November, and July can't get here soon enough....

It's almost time!!! One more night to dream of big wins and jackpots before they become reality :nworthy: I am thinking optimistically and surrounding myself with positive vibes for the trip. I've checked mom and I in for the flight and splurged and upgraded us to First Class.

I will do my best to write up a trip report and maybe I will learn how to upload pictures for it this time. The trip most likely won't be live as I work online and will be busy for a good portion of the day and will want to get off the laptop soon as I'm done as I know the slots will be calling me!!

The upgrade was $50 each USD on Alaska Air out of Bellingham. When converting to CDN it is still worth it to me :)

Hell yeah. Flying first class into Vegas is always fun, it seems to make the trip there so much faster. Have a blast and hope you win big time!!! :peace:
