Caesars vs Cromwell rooms

Planning a trip in Feb and checking the room calendar. At Caesars, I can get any room except suites in any tower including NOBU comped. Also at Cromwell, I can get any room except suites comped.

I have not stayed at Nobu, Octavious or Cromwell.

Any suggestions on which to pick?

We're heading out in January and were debating the same thing. After doing some research and talking to my host, we decided on Caesars and the Augustus Tower.

 

I agree. I haven't stayed at The Cromwell, but I know the rooms are small. I had previously booked into a suite there, but changed at the last minute. I like Giada's but it's the only restaurant there. Caesars has a lot of restaurant choices.

 

Rooms are probably better at Caesars with more activities and restaurants but I vote try something new!

 

Have you been in the Augustus tower? If not, I'd recommend Octavious.

 

Slightly bigger rooms, much worse views.

I haven't been Cromwell, but my GF who is a CP manager reckons they are fantastic.

 

Have stayed in the Parlour suite at Cromwell. Its about 750 sq ft, 2 rooms. One room has a couch, sink, large fridge, table & TV, the other room has the bed. 2 bathrooms, the ensuite toilet was rather intertesting, has a heated seat and will wash and dry you, its quite the elaborate toilet. Enjoyed the complimtory breakfast they served. There are pastries, toast, eggs, sausage, bacon and a made to order omelet station. The casino is rather small and gets pretty boring after a while. Giada's is excellent but reservation have to be made in advance and that is the only restaurant on the property.

Stayed in the Augustus tower at Caesars, it was a standard king room but is quite large and nice. Caesars would be a better choice if it was me as they have way more going on, entertainment and food wise.

Cromwell is very nice with great employees but a bit small for me.

 

I read reviews on several sites and the general theme was the typical Cromwell rooms are very nice but dark and small. Also, if you get the side with a view, it can be noisy from street noise and club going on till late at night. Finally several comments about thin walls and listening to the neighbors. Whether it is true or not, I decided on Caesars Augustus towers hoping for a fountain view.

If I am lucky, I will get upgraded like my last couple trips and could end up in any tower. We like playing at the Cromwell and the friendly staff but like the food choices at Caesars so this will work very well. Halloween we stayed at paris and made the hike to Caesars three times for buffet and Beijing Noodle 9. Might as well stay there.

I forgot to mention how dark the rooms are, and the noise level. Your right, the rooms are very dingy. I turned on every light they offered and still couldn't get enough light. Our room was on the 7th floor (I think) facing Bally's. Didn't matter what time it was you could hear the street traffic loud and clear. I even checked the windows to see if a vent was open cause it was a bit to much noise coming through. You could also hear the night club going till 5ish am.

I forgot to mention the noise level cause I usually ended back in the room between 4 and 6am and was so tired that I fell asleep no problem even with the noise.

 

But leaving your Cromwell room leaves you just 'steps' away from the Strip. The Augustus rooms are a bit of a walk to the Strip and the Octavious rooms are so far from the Strip you feel like you're walking from the Rio.

That is a good point. We've stayed a the Augustus towers a few times and there is a walk. We find ourselves eating at Bacchannal buffet and Beijing Noodle No9 so overall this might be less walking. I could use the exercise anyway

 

Haven't stayed at Caesars but had a great time at the Cromwell. Yes the rooms are a bit darker but I honestly loved it, the furniture in the room was fantastic as well.

 

Pros and Cons

Just got back from LV after staying @ the Cromwell. Have stayed @ both and prefer Octavious Tower to Cromwell. Cromwell rooms were nice, but the noise from Dreis Club as well as the street was unreal. Also agree with a post in this thread about the thread bare walls. Rough going there as well. Rooms and service were great as well as the location. Octavious Tower has great rooms, more to do and more choices. Just wear some comfortable shoes as you will be hoofing it quite a bit!
