mLife doesn't wave fees based on tier level. CET Platinum and above are the only ones that wave resort fees.
I don't have a host. But I'll probably ask for one today. I'm leaving Vegas tomorrow night and this trip I've lost about 3-4k.. I booked this stay with a comp offer.. But with a 3-4k lost.. Is it enough to ask for anything? Maybe buffet tickets etc etc. I don't know what to expect or what benefits I get with having a host
You'll find that a host will get you comps and upgrades not offered on-line or by your mailers. I would think that as a Platinum M-Life member, you probably have a decent rating that will get you those upgrades.
You don't have to have a host at an MGM property, just go by the mlife desk before check out. I've never had a host at an MGM property but I have nene able to get things comped here and there.
I ended up not asking for an on duty host. For some reason I felt to shy to ask for anything comped in fear of being denied. Went home empty handed lol.
Platinum or not, I've never been charged the resort fee on night that was comped up front on an offer. Aria, Mandalay Bay, or MGM Grand.
I was charged a resort fee at Mandalay bay. Which I don't ever remember paying for at any other hotel casino either. But it's been a long time since I've stayed at Mandalay and I figured maybe that's just something they do differently. My preference has always been Aria. I should have known. Mandalay Bay is infamous for their shady tactic of giving you some really nice offers that you can't pass up. Upon arrival.. They'll tell you that they don't have the room you reserved then shove u in one of their rundown standard rooms.
If you feel shy about asking for a particular comp, get a host and ask, "What types of comps or upgrades can I get?" You know what they say about a squeaky wheel. Of course to a point, they'll just break it off if it gets too bad. JK, LOL
If it was a corporate offer, read the disclaimer or *. I remember a few offers I had at MB/theHotel said a 25 resort fee will be added even though the room was comped. Some offers don't have resort fees while others do. MB is the only hotel that sometimes charge resort fees, in my experience.
Ah. Thanks for the info. From now on I'll stick to aria. I've experienced too many issues with MB this last trip that is not worth stressing over. Guest relation did reach out to try and fix things but a bad experience is something you don't really forget.
You've been to Vegas over 20 time and you lost 3k on you last trip. It's time to starting talking to a host. Just ask, I don't like hearing "No" either, but if you don't ask then you're just leaving more money in Vegas. It's not a secret language, ask a simple question, "Can you look at my account and possibly help me out?" With a 3k loss I believe they would have comped something off your bill.
For a year or two. I was in Vegas every other week. I partied more than I gambled. But I know I dropped a lot of cash gambling those two years as well. Unfortunately.. I never bothered to sign up for any players card.. I would just gamble for fun and drink with them wherever we were staying at the time. The one place I refuse to gamble at is Planet Hollywood. I always lose there.. I blame it on them hot dealers! *_*
