I talked to the promotions guy that runs the one at Margaritaville, and he suggested it was only a summer type one. I forget his name but he does the drawings at PH on Fridays for the slot play they give away still. I didn't realize Harrahs had one. I actually came in 3rd (I think) at the Margaritaville one in the summer once. $200 in free slot play, not bad.

Hey Hunter! Is there a way for a Harrah's gold member to get resort fees waived? Perhaps the $20 trick? I'd like to save the $150 from my trip on comped rooms and put those towards the slots :p

I'm 99% sure that the resort fees for Gold and Platinum can only be waived as a comp on the back end based on your play that trip.

I'd say if your ADT is high enough, they'll comp it on the back end if you talk to a host. Just based on gold alone though without sufficient gambling, I'd guess no.

Don't think I've seen anyone successfully $20 trick for it but not to say it doesn't happen. I just haven't seen or read about it.

Hey hunter I have a question I'm afraid to bother you with as I feel its probably well below your pay grade. Anyway a friend and I are flying in next month for 4 nights. We're both platinum and we always stay at PH. My question is whats the bare bones price they can upgrade us with at the front desk to a panoramic suite? We currently have a resort room booked and last year they upgraded us to the panoramic due to originally giving us the wrong room and we loved it. Our play would not merit us being comped the panoramic although we are looking to up our play on this trip. We have a few friends that will meet us there who are vegas virgins that have just turned 21 who are looking to stay at the cosmo but we'd like to make PH the home base for the trip and that would be a lot easier to do with the panoramic suite.

So to sum up my question do you happen to know what the best price I could get on upgrading from a resort to a panoramic suite sunday - thursday and how I'd go about getting it besides rolling the dice on a $20 tip? We don't mind paying extra for it we just don't want to pay significantly extra.

Thank you in advance for any help or advice you can offer.

That room is $665/night, which is about 6 times the cost of a resort room so I'm thinking the upgrade fee will be pretty significant.

Have you tried checking out the Anthology Suites site? It may give you an idea or estimate of how much it would cost. Since you're a TR member and do gamble, you may get it at a discounted rate if you contact a host or PH directly.

I have and I can get a discount off listed prices but I know that the front desk can usualy offer pretty good discounts at check in. That being said it seems in general that CET suites seem a little over priced. I give absolutely no play to MGM and yet I can get a penthouse suite at the Bellagio for under $400 a night. Having stayed in both the Panoramic suite and the penthouse suite I can say with confidence the penthouse suite is much nicer and larger than the panoramic. I'm not really sure why its so expensive and that seems to hold true at most of the CET properties. I'd book the penthouse but I really love PH and its kind of become our home in Vegas. We're all in our early to mid 20's and we like the vibe there.

Gotcha. I know exactly how you feel. I have to agree, the CET suites are a bit overpriced compared to the suites at other properties. I too like the vibe at PH and like playing at their Party Pit.

I am pretty loyal to Caesars properties. I am on the east coast, and we have Caesars properties in Baltimore, Philly and AC. There would be no logical reason for me to bet at an MLife property. With that said, I will see a show at Aria, or stay at the Mirage, but I will only gamble at Caesars. In addition, PH is my fav place to gamble, so it all works out.

Guessing they probably just have less of them so they either want to get top dollar, or comp them to gamblers. It's only recently you could even book their larger suites at all. Maybe within the last couple of years?

I don't know about their inventory of suites, but I don't think they are lacking in numbers per se. The availability of booking the CET online was just maybe in the last year or 2, tops. Before that you couldn't even book it online and if you called the TR or the individual hotel/casino they would say it's not available or you can only ask about it the day you check-in and see if it's available for upgrade.

Only way to get resort fees waived is to play enough to get them comped, which doesn't take a lot unless your room is comped, then your play has to cover the room comp then anything additional will go towards resort fees.

Hey, I might be wrong but I believe the upgrade rate for a panorama suite is 200 on top of a standard room, might be less if upgrading from a resort room. I'd just plan on 200-300 per night upgrade fee if suite is available.

Hosts are no longer allowed to provide rates for suites, it's comp if a customer's adt qualifies or not at all. A customer upon checkin can pay the upgrade fee if it is available, and the host can look at comping on the back end. I used to give rates for suites on slower weeks/weekends, however since they launched anthology suites, we now just direct folks there if they want a suite and their play history doesn't qualify.

The tradeoff is the comp value of our suites is much lower than the comp value at bellagio, so while it might be more expensive for retail customers or low level players, it is much more advantageous for comp level players as that allows more comp space for food and beverage.

Hi Hunter. I have booked an offer for a few nights and under that code I also get a $20 dining credit and $25 reel rewards play. There is also another cash offer for $25 reel rewards under a different code but qualifies under the same comped room code. Do I qualify for $50 in reel rewards or only $25? Thanks again for being helpful to us all.

I appreciate the help! We'll just do that and then talk to a host at the end of the trip and see if i've spent enough time and money at the tables to wipe anything off.
