cphllps looks like we will just miss you in Vegas
I agree on Cantor! I love the VP bar at Venetian and spend a lot of time there on my trips, but as a sports bettor I'm often trying to get bets in over at Harrah's or LINQ before watching at V. I like knowing I'm getting an insultingly low number of points, plus with a small tip or bet for the dealers I get a stack of free drink coupons for later in the night when I leave V. Only bets I play at V are last minute ones or 2nd half bets when I don't have time to walk elsewhere.
Vegas: Paris or Bally's. I want to stay at PH next time!
Home: any of the casinos in the Chicagoland area
Home is Luxor/Excalibur/NYNY
Used to be Palazzo, but now it's the Golden Nugget.
It's been many places...MSS, Sams Town, more recently though it's definitely Cosmo.
Before Vegas, my weekend jaunts were JANugget in Reno
Caesars is our home for the last 25 years except 2 trips at MGM after getting a bad host at Caesars. The host at MGM was awesome and we would still be there except he moved to Caesars so that is where we are staying.
Well, that would have been a fun meet up.
Used to be Gold Coast but currently Cosmo, I love that place! Locally it's currently Montego Bay in wendover Nevada.
My main is TheD. They've always been really good to me for comps. Even if I play a bit less than normal.
My "secondary" would be PH. But, that's mainly because of a couple of conferences were held there. Might be trying the Linq next trip as they've moved it.
Had kind of been sliding into the Rio or an off Strip condo but after this weeks stay it will be the M.
80s & 90s - home was truly the Stardust... stayed there (comped) about 90% of my trips.
After they unceremoniously shut the old girl down , I switched to Mirage... called that home for a couple of years... then, I got something in the mail from Boyd (due to my Stardust history)... urging me to give downtown a try, at either the Cal, MSS or Fremont.
So, Fremont became home for a a couple of years...
I'm guilty of serial infidelity... my last 5 trips, I've stayed at Plaza, Golden Gate (twice), Fremont & 'theD'.
Las Vegas - Caesars Palace used to be our home base, but the rooms there are so ridiculously over priced. Last trip we stayed at MGM and The Delano. This year we'll be at The Bellagio.
Tampa - Hard Rock..Caveat to this, I go there maybe 3 - 4 times a year if that. Gaming is shit, the comp system is the worst in the gaming world., you have to pay for drinks at the bar (absolute fucking heresy imo) and on the floor. I admit I have gotten lucky there a couple of times, but it's just not enough to keep me as a regular player there.
The home casino does change although not too frequently.
"Home" casino is Horseshoe So IN...only about a 20 minute drive....but in LV....our home since our 1st trip in 2001 or 2002 has been Bally's or Paris.
Only stayed a couple other places ....once at PH & once at Flamingo (NYE couldn't get our usual fully comped) CET treats us well each trip....5 nites comped / no resort fees & our comps cover almost all our meals.
Like many people on here, I bounced from place to place for quite a while......before I really understood comps. NYNY, Luxor, Tropicana, Palms, Bally's, Orleans. Basically wherever I could find that was cheapest.
Then prior to one trip I discovered the Las Vegas Advisor board after I'd watched a TV show Anthony had done on getting the most out of Vegas. Our next trip we stayed at MSS and then I was hooked on never paying for a room again (I think that was 2004). Haven't payed for a room since. Home was MSS for a while, but a few years back an LVA member recommended Southpoint and that has been home ever since
Vegas- Four Queens- Good vp selection, great comps, and a nice quiet, uncrowded pool at the top of Binions
For many, many, many years the Riviera was my "home". Now I am out on the streets. Do not have a home.
Orleans was becoming my home but that may change.
Locally, I guess Ameristar but I also visit Majestic Star a lot. I love Blue Chip but it's not as close.
Separate names with a comma.
