We've been home and some general thoughts:
Given I think this won't be our last trip as a couple, I think I am going to have to commit to an MGM switch from CET to focus my comps. I only get out to Vegas 1-2x year, so I can't divide with any real benefits. Here's to hoping MGM values my play enough to get some of the room benefits I was receiving. Interested to see what offers look like going forward.
- Park MGM/Reserve was a gamechanger for my wife. Smoky environments don't bother me but certainly do her. Walking into Park when staying elsewhere, I didn't notice the difference. However, using Park as a home base and venturing other places made the difference much more obvious.
- I found more time to gamble than I expected and MrsMolten seemed perfectly content during those times. An unexpected win!
- The Reserve was a lovely experience. The finishes were great and service very attentive. The Terrace pool was a great, relaxing vibe with solid service and very good food/drink.
- Floor service was okay, maybe even a little slower than I've experienced at most CET properties, but Fiji water on the floor and cocktails served in glass was a WONDERFUL change of pace.
- Dealers were very good. Really my only floor issues was one pit supervisor that got into an argument with my roulette dealer (who I believe was correct). After a brief discussion, we all thought we moved on until it was revisited a bit later and put a full stop to the game for 5 minutes. I would have loved to change tables but...
- The biggest drawback was game selection on Saturday morning. I wandered down around 7:00a after waking up and there was only ONE roulette table open ($10 triple zero game) and ONE craps table open ($15 crapless). That was a bummer.
- Food and drink were winners all along the way. Juniper was a cool vibe, though unnecessarily loud. Yellowtail was phenomenal and changed the way I view sushi. Terrace pool offered tasty bites at pretty reasonable prices for what it was IMO. China Poblano was delicious as well but the dual-cuisine concept made it hard to pick a lane!
