For me - when I start checking the Vegas weather forecast. First I start with my town & then Vegas, soon it's Vegas first. As I said in the other thread today's Vegas weather threw me for a loop!

Funny, I just checked the weather also (about 10 degrees cooler than I'd like, but still a whole lot nicer than home). Also spend my days checking out various restaurants and planning all the places I think I'm going to go to, then don't because Vegas....

Recently there has been a trend to receive emails from properties about a week to ten days out where I’m getting comped stays to ask whether I want to upgrade (pay) for my accommodations. Uh, no, I’ll stick with what I originally booked.

Updating spreadsheets for 'loose' plans of where to eat and go. Logging into VMB every 10-20 minutes. Listening to "You can bet on that" podcast. Making a list of shows I want to download for the plane journey. Day dreaming of the different bets I will make at the Craps table (at the moment I am all about 'buying' the Ten - which I have never done but for some reason cannot get it out of my head).... Also starting to think about how I will use my freeplay (high limit gamble or VP grind).....I also check weather daily and worry that flights will be delayed or connecting flights will be delayed or some dickhead will fly a drone near the airport grounding all flights....

...I withdraw my start-up cash for the first gambling day & check for the best (cheapest) off-site airport parking....typically, about 3 or 4 days before the trip.

    For me the following:

    (1) I start frequenting this message board - for example this time I log in to a message that my last TR ended so abruptly that people thought something might have happened to me - so sorry folks! My last trip was great, I got too busy for the TR and then once I get back I tend to not log in here for a while.

    (2) I start watching my Vegas movies and listening to my Vegas soundtrack.

    (3) I start planning out my gambling and eating schedule - which all goes out the window once I land.

I also usually take a hiatus from the board upon returning from a trip. But then I miss it dearly.

I check this site daily. Then I go on a trip and I'll still check this site daily for a couple of weeks. Then may daily visits dissipate to maybe weekly. Sometimes I go a couple weeks between visits. Then I get the hankering to go to Vegas and I'm back to daily visits. I'll read new stuff and log off. Then I'm actually going to Vegas and I'll stay logged in for most of the morning and the closer i get I'll stay logged in well into the afternoon too.

Next step is to start watching more YouTube videos about Vegas things.

I've got about 300 restaurants to eat at over a 4 day trip, so I'll soon be looking at menus too so I can limit my options.

....Mrs Brew asks what shows we are going to see. I tell her it’s a surprise and then start booking them.

    1. Find random reasons to use playing cards and dice in activities with the students in my classroom...
    2. Start making side bets with students about what historical event is going to happen next in US history...
    3. Have the students start running parlay scenario's nightly and report back how much money I would have made if i bet there games, or lost for that matter...
    4. Take the student who theoretically would have made me the most money on the sports parlay and give him a list of games during the time in Vegas and have him create me a betting sheet...

(and yes I say all of this in jest...)

I love coming back to VMB after a trip because I know so much! My visits here taper off after it sinks in how long it will be until I get to Vegas again.

First Comp, I couldn't NOT book it, could I?

You know your trip is getting closer when:

    1) You start shopping for new clothes/shoes ... Even though you wear the same things in Vegas

    2) You start getting cash back at stores to pad your bankroll

    3) You start stressing less about work, because it's, almost Vegas time!

Start trying to deflect any complicated work from getting put on you, lol. About 2 weeks out. Er, I mean, about a month out.
