When the rate the casino quotes you using your player’s card number is $20 HIGHER than what is available on line! I was hoping to stay a couple of nights at the Downtown Grand, but $99 a night was a bit high, so I called. After the nice lady on the phone consulted with a host, I was offered $121 a night. Thanks, but no. Four Queens here I come!

Hahaha. I guess based on your previous play, they are charging you extra to breathe their air.

And if you call back again, the rate will be different. The 4Qs is a better location and much more active casino floor. I've only in the Grand a few times, but I always feel like I'm interrupting a wake!

Maybe the extra is for bathroom privileges? Water is scarce in the desert! ;)

We've stayed at the DTG at least eight times. Their room rates rarely make sense. You can often find a lower rate via a third party like Vegas.com than you can from them directly, and if you call they won't match it. And we too have experienced the "special offer" rate that is higher than I find when I go to their website unidentified. I still like the place for the "boutique" vibe and quiet casino, but it's always seemed to lack solid management. And there doesn't seem to be much if any coordination between casino and hotel operations.

The DTG doesn't have a clue. The hotel General Manager is MOE, the casino manager is LARRY and the marketing director is CURLY.

You’re a low roller when your only offer from CET is $10 freeplay after accumulating 100 points.

I spent way too long trying to figure out what the acronym MOE stood for.

    I am not smart.
