    Hello All,

Anyone feel this way about properties in Vegas? You like/love to play at the casino, but don't like/cannot stand to stay in the rooms? Which could be a conundrum because if you play enough, you get comps to stay.

Definitely. This is my #1 problem with the Four Queens. My favorite casino play choice but I won't stay there.

Golden Gate. Won't stay in their standard rooms, but I enjoy the casino. Also agree with @smerrian that Four Queens standard rooms are pretty awful, but their renovated ones are doable for a night or so.

I would put Downtown Grand in the opposite category of I like their rooms, but their casino is awful.

Fremont Street generally. With the exception of Circa (haven't stayed yet but I'm sure I'll like it), nothing about the hotel product at Fremont properties appeals to me. I'm a strip guy, with few exceptions.

    Yep...usually Fremont Street for me.

South Point is another, I wouldn't like being so far from other places.

I can't think of anywhere I'd play and not stay. Now if you ask about staying and not playing, that's a large list.

There are some MGM properties where I like to play, but never stayed because of reported room size, or room features. E.g. NYNY. Park MGM (will stay Nomad) I'll play at MGM Grand, but haven't stayed in decades; even for suites, the rooms look dated, and I remember the walking distance being extreme.

NY-NY, Luxor, and Excalibur for me. They have games that I don't see at Park MGM, Aria, and Mirage.

    I hear the Fremont gripes,
Cal used to be home, still would stay maybe,
    if you can swing it,
stay Circa, play at GG is our latest.

We play almost everwhere else DT but gotta focus on the rooms a little.

    Strip, stay Cosmo,
not trying to play anwhere else really,
Cromwell and Paris were in the running for play a minute but that was then.

It's usually the opposite for me. I like the hotel and the food choices - but the casino, not so much. Aria is a good example. After multiple stays and visits, I've never won a plug nickel, so it's off my list to stay at. I usually don't even bother to visit anymore. I've even been offered Sky Suites. Nope!

Having stayed at the Fremont, Gold Coast, Golden Gate, El-Co & 4-Queens, that should tell you....I'll stay just about anywhere, so long as my room is clean... & I will play all of those casinos (4-Queens for carnival games only).
I'm not there for the room & I'm in a room alone for 99% of my trips, so - no - I don't care very much. Clean, with good A/C... about my only criteria.

Rooms at NYNY are marginal - not terrible, but just not great. But, we love the casino, the restaurants, the vibe there.

BUT - we still stay there because I really like being able to just take he elevator back to the room vs doing the extended "walk of shame" after a bad session - LOL!

I love MaBay's casino floor, but since the tragedy, I cannot bring myself to stay there again. Something I have to get over because the entire property has always been a favorite for many reasons: casino layout, dining choices, location/proximity to LAS, great staff.

Downtown, I'll play at 4Q, but I wouldn't stay there. On the strip, I'd stay at most places but not play at any of them.

I like playing at a lot of different casinos, but the rooms aren't necessarily the reason why I've never stayed at certain properties. Location (e.g. South Point, M Resort, Sams Town), noise (downtown properties), parking, food options, comps, etc. are all contributing factors, even if I like going to those places to play slots/VP.

Really not meant to be offensive in any way in this post and I respect your opinion, but personally I could not care less what has happened in any hotel. That shooting, while horrible, could have taken place (and sadly, has the potential to happen at ANY place), so I cannot bring myself to take that into account…

NYNY is a prime example and just about any downtown place except GN and Circa.

I agree 110%. (mathematically impossible of course -LOL).

Really, we made it point to go to Mbay a few months after that event. The staff was very glad to see us.

Every single guest at the hotel was totally safe and unhurt. None were shot at or in danger.

Something similar could have been from ANY hotel. Or street. Or vehicle.

There is almost nothing any hotel can do to stop a madman. (the room check thing is a joke)

Well, its not really a conundrum because I will stay there, but I absolutely love the high limit room at Palazzo while the suites there feel like something out of a boring generic grandparent's catalog (I greatly prefer the suites at Wynn)
