Thought this might be interesting for all of us? I've been wrong before though. Also, im not a good writer but did graduate college so please excuse my lack of writing skills.

Did a little accounting this evening. I am 4-3 for the year. BUT, from January thru July I was up 26,700. After last trip in August where I lost 18,500 im obviously up 8,265 for the year. Won 39,265 and lost 31,000. The last 3 trips I have gone 1-2 winning 15k and losing 26k. The 15k win I pulled out of my ass at the last minute on one baccarat shoe. I was down 15k going into that shoe. This is why I have been playing scared. I feel it changing. Especially after a 4 year really nice run. This time the last 4+ years I was up BIG. Next trip is with broncofn and others from VMB. No childhood friends from home. Could be dangerous but I will maintain the discipline and play conservatively. The partying, not so much! Hopefully me or broncofn win the Baccarat tournament at Aria this coming trip! Bottom line im up for the year and blessed. But this feeling of playing scared kills me. I obviously wont lose my 4+ year winnings by the end of this year (Especially with 10s of 1000s in comps which I really don't count) but for me it is about maybe having a losing year. I DONT WANT ONE! You see im soooo competitive and it isn't about the hard earned cash we all play with and are ready to lose in Las Vegas. For me It is about winning. Coming out on top. Beating the damn house. It is a game I play with myself. That's all. Can any of you relate?

Again, please don't take the above the wrong way. I have been very lucky to say the least and I appreciate everything I have. Most of all my health and my Childs health. If I were 0-7 for the year I would still be posting this thread.

Every year during this time as there are still a few months left I reflect on the year, life and its adventures which includes Lost Wages. The numbers are all relative. Where are you as far as your Vegas adventures in regards to gaming? What is your record for the year? Up? Down? If you want to say, how much $$$ either way? It isn't like the world knows who you are. Its just a screen name after all.. Im sure 80% of us or more are down for the year but hope not!
Thank you for sharing any info you would like.

1-3 for 2015. First winning trip was in August. I'm a small fish in the Vegas pond with a 3-day BR of $3500 or so. Not sure of the exact figures but I have been able to limit my max losses to flesh wounds (a little over a 1/3 of my average BR or $1400). I'm know that is an average bet for some VMBers and TBH, I could afford bigger losses but don't want to get used to those types of losses. Losing more would not make me enjoy Vegas more. Plus, I still have about $500 in NFL and NCAA futures from the last trip, so I am hopeful to finish the year on a winning note. Hopefully, next year is better for me.

Like most of us, I have a give and take relationship with Vegas. It gives me amazing entertainment. It takes my hard earned money.

    What a fun thread Packer!

I'm thrilled to pieces for where I am for the year, compared to where I could be!

I plan for 4 Vegas trips a year, and one non vegas US gambling trip as well- I'll use all the numbers as it represents my Canadian to US converted $$.

First trip to Vegas, ended up slightly ahead by $750
Second trip non Vegas, ended up ahead another $2000
Third trip Vegas, down $1400 of that total BR that included winnings
Fourth trip Vegas, down $2700....cutting into initial BR buy in at start of year by $1350.

So what do I have for our $1350 spent?

    - $2770 in the IRS piggy bank to reclaim since I gave back the handpay wins-
    - Platinum tier at Palazzo getting limo transport until the end of 2016, Platinum lounge access w/ comp snacks & drinks
    - 9 nights comp at the Palazzo with future offers to come
    - $4-500 in Grazie Gifts to use (I'm at 247k in points?)
    - about $2400 in food comps
    - 4 show tix ( 2 at ok seats at Frank. The man. & 2 at Rock of Ages in Rockstar seats)
    - 3 limo transport already used
    - comp directed to cover balance portion of friend's room & charges
    - BR cash used to cover some taxi's and some cash tips
    - excuse to meet up with friends- priceless!!!!!

The only charges to my CC this year were for airfare, one room upgrade fee of $100 per night (x3) and tips.

Very grateful!! I think I'm still ahead in the big picture........

I tend to start with about 8k BR. three trips so far this year. First one I was actually ended up a little ($400) which was awesome because I'm down way more than up in general. Second trip I went down $3500....not good, but not my whole bankroll. Third trip was worst ever trip I've had (this year or any year)....hit atm to supplement BR and lost 12k. Hoping my trip in late sept goes better! The only trips I come out ahead on are ones where I hit a slot for at least $5k, and since I'm a 1-2 $ player, they aren't that common. Got 9 quick hits once for $9800 in a Pennsylvania casino, and all the jackpot symbols on a quick hit machine in an Oklahoma casino for $7500. Every other time I've hit hand pays (5 or 6 times....always on quick hit machines!), it was between $1200 and $3000 and that wasn't enough to make the trip a winning trip. I haven't hit a hand pay in about 2 years so I'm due.... And I want to turn this year around!

I'm a low roller and only take one trip. Won steadily at Craps and Blackjack. Lost consistently at 3 Card Poker and Video Poker and slots. Some slots I was clueless. Semi-drunk and just looking at the flashing lights. Video Poker is the real slow death.

Crashed and burned at Texas Hold 'Em. Never felt comfortable, too much chasing pots, never got into my own style.

For all of that, a couple of big sessions at Craps pulled me up to where I lost about $400. My bankroll was $4000.

I started the year with a goal of +1M.

    I'm still working on it.

I am down for LAS, but I didn't play anything I was good at or had any sort of edge, so I had already said goodbye to that money. I can say I am ok with it because it was a small amount - once I go over my allotted playing money, then I feel awful.

    .

Locally I am in this place. Had a great run at poker last year, now I have lost my last 5 sessions (well one I was up nominally, still felt like a loss). I really don't know how to break this cycle. My losing sessions make me play differently, which causes more mistakes, and more losses. Playing scared is the worst, it feels awful, but I feel like if I don't play I will get rusty and play like crap. I am in a weird place mentally now, so that is much of the problem, but totally dry, sucky hands on repeat don't help. Most of my mistakes have been a result of impatience. I'm going to the local cardroom this weekend but I don't even know if I'll play. I was comped a show ticket. Might just use free slot play, go to the show and have dinner. I am confident in my ability to play well, but not confident in my ability to handle another loss, even a minor one. I might go on life tilt, which is horrible. For some reason I can't abide poker losses the same way I do other gaming losses.

I play very low stakes but high volume (.25VP but about $10k coin in per day). I am a relentless chaser of promotions and coupons. I've only made two trips this year with a 2-0 record and net profit of $2,400. I don't really track specifics but that is after all tips and such are removed. We use cash for everything in town.

I'm down for the year but as a slot player I kind of expect it. Compared to last year my loss is considerably less on a lot more coin in. I'd like to think it's because I have been more disciplined about not getting carried away and blowing my entire bankroll. It may have something to do with my decision stop stop playing locally (Rivers in Chicago). Despite having a losing year I still feel Las Vegas is a great deal. I use credit card points to fly first class, my room and food is comped, and I get to ride around town in a limo. The only expense I have while there is gambling. Totally worth it and who knows maybe I'll hit it big in October and have a winning year!

Been 3 times this year... I'm 1-2, although my net losses only totaled about $400... factor in 8 comped hotel room nights, plenty of drinks & several meals, and I'm probably about "even".

If I use 2014-2015, I'm 4-2... and for that period combined, up about $1000... to put things in perspective, that's about 50% of one trip's bankroll... divided by 6 trips, it's an average of +$166 per trip.
Nothing huge (either way), but it's always better to win than to lose... makes coming back more fun!

One trip this year, 14 nights, $14k down but I guess I'll double that in november... and yes, I'm a slot player. :bang:

0-3 in Vegas so far this year. Got one last trip planned for October so maybe I can make it to 1-3.

I keep track of all my gambling. I'm currently down a total of -$2358.00, but only part of that is from Vegas, the rest is from the casinos I visit near Seattle. I also split it out by game, my worst is -$855 on Ultimate Texas Hold'em, and the best game is Craps where I am up a whole +$241.... :rolleyes2:

Overall I'm 2-6 on my eight total trips to Vegas... though a couple of them I've only been down $100 bucks or less.

    nice.

however, I'm closer to 1M than I am to 0.

and with 4 more trips on the schedule this year,

    I'm still optimistic!

    2-4-2...( emotionally I consider 4 ties a win)
avg BR for weekend is $2500-$3500
total down YTD is $1100...which I think is pretty good because my losing trips were totally felted level bad beats

I'm comfortable with this size BR, because although I could afford more, I'm never really feeling awful when getting robbed of the whole BR
but like you even I play scared after getting my ass kicked non stop

I'm up A substantial amount in the last 2 years. As I've told you, I'm going into each trip scared now because I'm due for a loss since its been almost 1 1/2 years since my last losing trip.

I'm on the Beeejay boat in trying to lock in the win and relish in it. Our trip is my last vegas trip until Super Bowl but still have Atlantis booked for New Years.

We will keep each other in check this upcoming trip!

    What are you talking about?
The games have no memory, so you could just as well have another year and a half of winning! In fact, I increased my credit lines so I could ride your win streak!
