    My Trip Report

So I don't actually leave until tomorrow morning (was supposed to be tomorrow night but decided instead of wasting the day sitting around we might as well change our flight and get an extra 13 hours or so in in Vegas), but I'm bored sitting at work so I decided I'll start my semi live trip report now.

I'll be posting random updates on twitter so if you want to follow me I'm @xXGetLuckyXx.

    Some pre-trip details:
-Flying non-stop from Milwaukee to Vegas on AirTran.
-Going to Vegas for a national pool tournament held at the Riviera.
    -Staying at the Riviera.
-Planning on playing a good amount of poker including a couple WSOP Warm Up Series events at Caesars.
-Might try to get a round of golf in.
-Others involved in trip are my wife (H) and two of my best friends (J & T).
-Gambling budget is $300 a day (this does not include my poker tournament buy-ins as that is a separate bankroll).
-Have groupons and restaurant.com certificates for Holsteins, Queen Victoria's Pub, Pink Taco, Pink's Hot Dogs, Hash House A Go Go and Rock & Rita's.
-Gambling outside of poker for me is lots of $.25 VP, cheap slots, BJ and some 3 card poker.

Ok, I think that is enough random junk to fill my first post. I guess I'll try to get some work done and hope my day starts going a little faster.

Sitting at the airport hoping to get a seat on the dang plane. Apparently between 10pm and 6am they managed to sell 18 seats and now we might not get on. Not a good start to the trip if that happens.

Can't kick us off when they wouldn't let us on. Flight was full so we are now stuck taking our original flight at 9:10pm. Wasted 6 hours that could have been used for sleep. Oh well, back to the airport later for a flight we are guaranteed to be on. Boarding passes already in hand.

    I have arrived!

Went to the room, unpacked quick, came downstairs and found a $.25 9/5 DDB VP with progressive and proceeded to loose a hundo in 10 minutes. Great start! Lol.

Lost another hundo playing random slots for a couple hours. Decided to put one more hundo in the same $.25 VP as before and was down to my last $1.25 and hit quad 4's for a hundo and called it a night.

Quick rundown from today before I pass out.

Played the Caesars $240 WSOP warm up event. Lost almost half my stack the first hand with 5's full vs A's full. Obviously a horrible start and it never got better. Busted after 2 hours.

Had a late lunch at Queen Victorias Pub. Had banger and mash and then some sticky toffee pudding. I was actually impressed with it and might try out some British breakfast one of these days too.

Went to Fremont St with J, T and H. Got a little drunk, lost a little playing some Wheel of Forture and paid J $20 to dance with a crackhead. Best $20 I have EVER spent in my life!!! I have a picture of just the crackhead dancing and I'll post it when I get home.

Came back to the Riv and enjoyed some more free beers (J and T and I always flip for rounds of drinks and I only lost once so I paid for 1/8 of my drinks...winning!!!!) and played some BJ with the worst rules EVER. BJ pays 7/5 better than 6/5 I guess), can't re-split and can only double 10 and 11. I managed to win $50 though so I won't complain too much. Then proceeded to lose that $50 playing $.25 DDB VP though. Oh well.

Ended up with $200 of my budget left from today so I'm considering it a win and now going to sleep. Pool tournament starts tomorrow afternoon for me so I'll probably make a trip to Caesars to collect my winnings from my first ever baseball bet (GO RANGERS!) and then spend some time wondering around that are before I come back here to play.

Not much happened today. Woke up early and went down to try and practice for the pool tournament. Then grabbed lunch at the Riv buffet (had a 2-4-1 coupon and if it wasn't for the crab legs it wouldn't have been worth it). Lost a hundo playing some Playboy and Ghostbusters slots. Won my first match in the tournament and lost my second. Then played some poker here at the Riv and swung all over the place. In for $200, up to $350 4 hands later, down to $100 4 hands after that, back up to $300 after a little bit and then back down to $200 and was going to quit even and ended up losing $85 my last hand. Tossed $15 in a $.25 WOF on my way to the room just because and lost that. Ended up $100 under budget again. Still considering that a win. Lol.

Don't play in the tournament again until 7:30pm tomorrow so probably gonna go to the middle of the strip for a while and try to find Princess Bride slots (if anyone knows where I can find one, let me know as I really want to check them out).

    Time for sleep!

Oh, had dinner at Rock & Rita's at Circus Circus. I had the mac and cheese as I loved it last year. Loved it again and it was even better due to having a groupon. Meal for H and I cost $10 out of pocket.

Woke up today and didn't have a clue what I was gonna do besides play my match at 7:30pm. H wanted to play a poker tourney at Caesars at noon but I knew I couldn't play just in case I was still in by the time I needed to be here for my match. Got a text from J saying he wanted to go check out the Callaway golf center. He has a car for the week so we dropped H off at Caesars and went to the golf center. Spent some time trying out some clubs on their range. I'm kinda glad I didn't have a way to get clubs home with me or I might have spent too much money.

After there I had J drop me off at Caesars to see how H was doing and cash in my ticket at the sportsbook. After collecting my winnings I noticed the Grease slots and gave them a try and won like $80. Wandered around Caesars and lost a little bit in some various slots. Then went across the street wander around for a while. Stopped at Bill's and played Battleship and won $95 out of it in like 5 minutes. Went over to Ballys as I have never been in there and just wanted to see. Got in there and got a text from H saying she was out of her tourney. Met her at Bellagio and decided to go to Holsteins at Cosmo to use a groupon we had. When we got to Cosmo I signed up for a card quick so I could earn some points and try to spin for free buffet tickets. I got my card, put it in a Jackpot Party machine to use my $5 freeplay quick, stuck in $1 to activate my freeplay and won $65. LOVED Holsteins. I had the hen house burger with sweet potato fries and a Cap'n Crunch shake. H had the nom nom burger with shoestring fries. We also had an order of onion rings. I will be back for sure!!! After eating H ran to Ross and I played at Cosmo a little to get my points for the spin. Got the point, got the spin, didn't get the buffet passes. Argh! Ended up finding the Princess Bride slots in Cosmo and played those until H got back from Ross. Ended up losing $20 in them. H grabbed a cab from Cosmo to South Point (she wanted to play bingo there) and I cabbed it back to the Riv.

Played, and won, my 7:30 match to get into the money for the tournament. Then sat around until my 10:30 match and then lost that to get knocked out. Cashed for a whole $100. Oh well, better than nothing. I finished in the top 512 out of 1300 or so players. Lol.

After my match H and I went over to Circus Circus where I proceeded to hit all kinds of bonuses on all kinds of slots. End of the day I'm up $200. Finally a real winning day. Now that I'm out of the pool tournament I have the next two full days to really enjoy more of Vegas and get some good gambling time in.

    And...sleep!

Good stuff. Love the live/semi-live updates.

Sounds like the gambling is going reasonably well.

I like how you decide on who’s going to pay for drinks. My dad and I do that sort of thing when we’re out there together – drinks, cab fare etc. He always kicks my ass, especially when it’s for something that costs more than a few bucks – I think I’ve had to pay for every limo we’ve taken together.:grrr:

Agree about Holsteins. That might be my new favorite burger joint in Vegas.

Today was pretty uneventful. Spent the first few hours of my day looking for and buying a new pool cue. Then watched J play a few matches in the tournament. Went up to Aria and PH and Paris and Mirage and did some random gambling. Ate at Pink's Hot Dogs (awesome meal with a groupon). Came back and watched another match of J's. The tournament started with 1240 players and he is guaranteed a top 12 finish right now. Played some poker and lost $160 in 1/2 hour. Lost the final $40 of my budget in a Playboy slot. Going to sleep now. Tomorrow I'm playing another Caesars poker tourney on my final full day here. Night!

Curious to where you play golf in Vegas. Thinking of bringing my clubs this trip and playing around. Have played Rio Secco, what thinking of trying Cascata this time.

Might have to check this out. Love Mac and Cheese. Is this worth a trip to the upper north Strip? I'll be up at Wynncore at least that far.

I'm actually not going to get in any golf like I hoped. But J and T played the Wolf course at the Piaute golf resort before I got here and said it was amazing. They got a deal off golfnow.com for $45 a person and then $60 to rent clubs. It's normally like $150 a person.
