    My Trip Report

Lordy, lordy help me... I went on a trip in August and was a big loser, out of control degenerate! So fun, but costly:cuss: Did that discourage me from my planned trip a month later? :haha:

Anywho, I am leaving today for a solo 4 nighter at Wynn 9/10-9/14. (Free thanks to Wynn Slots app!) My first time staying there, so any tips on must see/do, gambling & eating solo would be greatly appreciated. I am an 80/20 slot/VP player.
My mantra for the trip is "DO NOT GO ON TILT". I have envelopes, but those can be shredded quite easily:nono:

The day did not start out well.
Plan was to fly out at 2pm on JSX (rebranded JetsuiteX) OAK-LAS. Today at 8:54AM, I received this email:
    Good Morning,
JSX Flight 205 Oakland to Las Vegas is cancelled. We apologize for this inconvenience and will be issuing you a flight voucher to be used toward future travel.
Please call 1-800-435-9579 between 5:00 am and 10:00 pm for assistance with changing your flights / dates or you may choose to refund your ticket.
Again, we apologize for this cancellation and thank you for your understanding.
    Sincerely,JSX

    T
he short story is that I should be on the only other OAK-LAS flight today, departing at 5pm. (It was a cluster****) More details later, after I confirm charges & credits, etc.

My plans so far are pool, cocktails, new restaurants, low rolling and possibly the new Spiegelworld show at Venetian (Atomic Saloon Show opened 9/8).

I hope to update semi-live if I have anything exciting to report. Cheers!

Good luck! I’ll be following along. I’ve got my own; solo, first time at The Wynn, 4 nighter, thanks to the Wynn Slots App trip in October, so I’m looking forward to hearing your thoughts, results, etc.

Sorry things aren’t starting great for you. Following along. I have been playing the Wynn slot app forever, and have like 700 gems. By my calculations, I should earn 2 nights by the year 2022. What am I doing wrong :)

    Love the pig!

Consider trying the Red8 at Wynn good food and dim sum. A little more expensive than Chinatown, but good. If you have time the best place for dim sum and they serve day and night is Orchids Garden 5485 W Sahara Ave Las Vegas try their Pork Shu Mai, Pork Soup Dumpling, and Fried Sticky Rice. Cheap too. Not terribly far from Wynn.

    Have a fantastic time!

I don't know what kind of food you like nor your interests but 75% of the time I am dining solo at Wynn; heck I was solo for my birthday trip!

Less expensive but good places are the Wynn Cafe, which is open 24 hours, and Terrace Point Cafe and Charlie's Bar. The grilled cheese at Wynn Cafe is my favorite.

I really like Wazuzu on the Encore side. Food is fabulous, not expensive but also relatively quick; it is not a major time commitment.

Would they the buffet at least once. It is great and breakfast will fill you up fir the day.

My favorite fancier restaurants there are Lakeside (casual vibe but good food and I love watching the shows on the Lake at night) and Sinatra but all of the restaurants are good to great. I did a detailed review of the Le Cave Brunch, which is on Saturdays and Sundays.

If you are at all a spa person you MUST check out the Encore for a couple of hours at least once. Complimentary with a treatment and I think 45 to use the facilities all day without but totally worth it (and cheaper than gambling anyway).

Enjoy the pools. Now must be great weather wise as it is warm but not blistering. You will enjoy getting the chilled grapes and orange slices and super cold bottles of water that are often passed around.

In Ardees fashion, have a drink at Parasol Up or Down or out on the patio. There's a two drink minimum but that's easy ;) and they serve small bites until midnight so if you wanted something light at night you could drink and eat there and have a full on view of the Lakeside shows, which I think are every 15 or 30 minutes once it starts to get dark.

Given that you will be there for four days really try and explore the property and experience it. if you walk from Wynn to Encore the "back way", meaning via the conference rooms and ballrooms, you'll see great artwork and design as well of course in the restaurants and throughout the property.

Years ago I got a nice pamphlet from the concierge that had about two dozen works of art that are all located on property. For every piece, including the stories about the butterfly sculptures outside, there was info about the artist, when it was purchased and why Roger Thomas chose to buy it. See if they still have the pamphlet. If so, just walking around the property with the pamphlet is cool while looking at the different works of art that people pass by all of the time but that some of which are quite significant.

Even if you aren't a shopper, walk through the new plaza, which now has a Soul Cyle and Urth Cafe and more fun art and a cool statue.

And order what you want while playing. Fiji, if you want it, is standard. No cheap alcohol if you are picky. Just tip well.

Some thoughts off the top of my head.

Hope you have a great time and win big!

    Thank you for all of the tips & well wishes @JosieCat @ardee @carolineno @Packrat1 @smerrian @Matty Ice @Flowers
I was planning to check out the Encore spa, since Wynn’s spa is temporarily closed (services are still available in another location).
I would also like to do the “art walk”. I had heard that it is wonderful.

    Tuesday recap:
Flight was great. Pilot warned of turbulence coming into Vegas, but there was none. Yay!
Took shared Lyft from JSX $9.64 + tip.
Check-in was a breeze. I get up to my room & open the door, but I hear a TV on. My first thought is, someone is in the room. What a dork! It’s Sinatra welcoming me to my room (& a personalized welcome message on the TV)! First class Wynn!
What a beautiful room. My view is Treasure Island, Palazzo & the Linq high roller.
Gambling: Stuck to my low rolling plan except for playing my favorite Diamond Queen quarters $5 bet. I had a few small wins, but ended up down $250. Not the best start, but I know I will turn that around today!
Casino observations: It was not very busy, so I was surprised by the slow service. My TITO got stuck when I was trying to cash out & after 10 minutes I asked a CW if she saw a service person to send them my way. And she did! Another time I ordered a drink & after 15 minutes I wanted to move on, but kept playing hoping my drink would arrive. Never did, so I moved on. I tried to stick close by for a bit, so I could watch for her, but I never saw her.
Smoke. Has anyone else noticed this? Are there more smokers here or were they just following me last night?
I was up in the room by 11:15! Such a party animal.
Heading down for coffee & a nosh, then to the pool!!
(I will try to do a pic dump later when I have wifi.)
    Toodle-oo

@win4me I do think there's a higher concentration of smokers at luxury properties, although admittedly that's based on a collection of anecdotal observations and nothing more.

Encore spa is fantastic, @win4me. I hope you have a great experience. A beautiful place to relax and wind down.

Lots of smokers in late August at Wynn when visiting with my sister. A guy called me sweet cheeks :rolleyes2: and made some kind of weird gesture while asking if I had a lighter....repeatedly.
Sorry, I don't smoke. Told him so. Then he asked if I had matches. I dunno. All casinos can be weird sometimes. :haha:

I hope you have a cool time at pool time.

Thanks guys! I think I was just a smoke magnet last night.
    A perfect pool day.

Is the adult pool the way to go? It seems perfect to me! I have not checked on the other pool yet.
There was a falconer here! She sent her falcon(or hawk?) flying into the big pine tree a couple of times & then she was gone.
She & her bird are in the 2nd picture below.

I forgot to mention that I went to Allegro for a late dinner last night.
It fit the bill... great Caesar, eggplant parmigiana & a barolo.
I am having issues with loading pics, maybe Tapatalk issue?

At the pool today I had a delish lobster roll. Not the traditional Maine roll, as it had lettuce & tomatoes on it. Love those big chunks of lobster!
